I'm really happy with how happy everyone else is with this. Normally when a band changes their sound all you see in the comments is hate, here it's only positive comments. I fucking love it
@everrest88309 жыл бұрын
well usually when bands change they do it horribly, they go to something that just seems fake, but this feels pretty emotionally raw, which for me is why i love TPIY before someone yells at me about changing bands not being fake its my opinion
@joep32119 жыл бұрын
normally when a band releases new material at all these days, you get people with hipster clothes mirror selfies without an original bone in their body complaining. I don't think you could ever accuse a band like TPIY of doing any wrong though.

usually most bands will change their sound completely after their firs album and they end up loosing a lot of fans. They did it just right, put 2 albums off their original sound, did like 6 tours and made a name for themselves. Plot in you fans are pretty much gonna like anything they drop from now on lol they've built a really loyal fan base

[Intro: Landon Tewers] Trapped in my old ways Can't seem to break free from anything 'Cause this is all that I've ever known And I'm afraid it won't let me go [Verse 1] Drugged you down Took you away from everyone that ever loved you Fooled the crowd Made 'em believe that I was real But you always knew I know I'm late But I hope you know I'd kill to keep you safe If you love me, then I beg that you just leave; forget my name [Chorus] Trapped in my old ways Can't seem to break free from anything 'Cause this is all that I've ever known And I'm afraid it won't let me go (Let me go) I'm afraid, I'm afraid it won't let me go (Let me go) I'm afraid, I'm afraid it won't let me go Primis Player Placeholder [Verse 2] All the pills, all the money, all the pain Living consequences, breathing just to take the blame I was wrong, I was wrong, I can see so clearly Made myself look like a fool and now you only fear me Trying to change God only knows I've been living in agony I pushed you all away [Chorus] Trapped in my old ways Can't seem to break free from anything 'Cause this is all that I've ever known And I'm afraid it won't let me go (Let me go) I'm afraid, I'm afraid it won't let me go (Let me go) I'm afraid, I'm afraid it won't let me go Just let me go [Bridge] Just let me go, just let me go, just let me go, just let me go Itching, scratching My blood's so thin The fucking ceiling spins It's clouding every thought and stripping everything away from me Crawling desperately It's got me trapped, and living in agony

Plot sounds like no other band out there, that's why they're so badass. With a mixture of great clean vocals, screeching screams, and deep ass growls this may be the best album so far in my opinion. Really hard to choose between first born and could you watch your children burn tho.

I totally agree. I love everything TPIY does.. Hell. I actually even love all of Landons solo stuff! It's just extreme to the extreme!!!
@owenhuisman34389 жыл бұрын
One thing that I will always admire about Landon and TPIY as a whole, is just how emotional their music always sounds. Behind the melodies that the instrumentals create, Landon delivers vocals that sound straight from the heart. His lyricism is one of a kind. By the way, I love the way the band is going. One of few bands to change in a way that doesn't ruin what was great.

In a reverie uninterrupted by concern for whatever else was going on I was somehow transported to the past where rock bands did choreographed dancelike moves, a thing borrowed from r&b (as was the large percentage of rock). All together, in unity, like Paul Revere and the Raiders choreographed...kick, step, kick, step. Now, fifty years later, through the mutation of time, the youngest men of the video age each have a personally choreographed dance move, each "grooving" in their own isolated niche, banging and thrashing, all by themselves but the chaos breeds unity. 21st century encapsulated.

This song is a masterpiece. Musically and lyrically. The vocals are never monotone and he utilizes his entire range. The music is ambient and rythmic, and just fits and transitions so well. Premeditated remains my favorite song by them, but then again its one of my top songs of all time, especially lyrically. I didnt think they could make another as damn good as it is, but holy shit you pulled it off. Amazing band live, really nice people. Had the privelege to discuss Landon's lyrics with him and their meaning. I really wish I got to hear this one live too.

I absolutely love the way this band has evolved over the years. dont get me wrong, all of their earlier material was amazing as well, but it seems now the band has totally matured. you can tell they're definitely not trying hard to be the heaviest they can be as a metalcore band, something that seems pretty obvious from their old sound, with all the breakdowns, fast paced riffs, and growled screams. Instead, they're focusing on capturing their fans using raw emotion and displaying their talents as musicians, rather than string-chugging and demonically screaming their ways into the hearts of their listeners. I'm also loving Landon's new vocal approach, an absolutely perfect blend of cleans and screams. THIS is what good metalcore is right here, major props to TPIY for growing up a bit and creating what I think might be one of the best core-style albums for the next decade or so.
