I haven't done spritework for the game in almost 5 years, back when the game was still a little baby with way less sprites, so seeing that my double Gardevoir fusion sprite was still being used (at the time I submitted it, double fusions weren't even implemented yet) is crazy, it gave me whiplash lmao I reinstalled and played again after watching this and was blown away by the talented artists who've joined the spriting team over the years! My dumb meme fusion feels so out of place now LOL I feel like it needs an update 🤔... On the offchance they kept my other double fusion, fuse 2 Gallades sometime

There is some real joy in just watching people play this game and see different fusions. Also, the "keep wanting to fuse things" problem is very real. It's why my original playthrough never reached the Elite Four because I kept swapping out my team so often and fusing things back and forth that I kept being underleveled for things, and kept getting distracted. Luckily on my second playthrough later on I finished, and my third I'm right before the Elite Four and just taking a break to play other stuff, since it's a challenge run.

@@baconator_x4098 From what I can infer lurking the Discord, it was just sort of by accident. They noticed people had independently sprited so many Beedrill fusions that it had almost all possible fusions so they teamed up to finish it.

@@khunt5336 It might be a combo of both. Beedrill has great fusion potential (in terms of design) and likely a lot of people's first aces were Beedrill fusions so they want to give him the respect he deserves. Though the latter is still a very unlikely.

@@baconator_x4098 yeah, I think it does come down to it being an early game Pokemon with an interesting color scheme if anything. Other early game mons often lack the same level of visual interest. Since pretty much anyone who can make a sprite can become an artist, it is likely people who got Beedrill fusions made custom sprites to be added to the game.

Honestly even without the fusion mechanic this is probably my favorite adaptation of Kanto, it adds some neat story touches like the Celadon sewer dungeon, fixes some things that just don't make sense like the only way out of Cerulean being through someone's house until you get cut and letting you backtrack through Mt Moon from there if you want, and adds some quality of life features like the Silph Co teleporters being color coded.

There are so many unique and absolutely phenomenally looking sprites in this game you can't even begin to name them all and so many are insanely creative too. There's also tons of fusions that are references to other franchises and while those may be a tiny bit less creative most of them work so freaking well. One of the best mods for a major game out there!

Gardevoir seems to by far have the most custom sprites and it’s genuinely great due to the quality of each. My personal favorite is the Latias Gardevoir combo. Also, you need to try Jigglypuff and Aegislash in a combo.

I think Bidoof has more. I seem to remember reading on the game's Discord server that it had custom sprites with every other species.
