the fact that the price of every box now get higher even before release is stupid, a box should always be the same price at release as every other box, 1 box is 170$ the other is 240$ its just crazy and kill the hype, we are just getting milked

@@gameianpsp for sure! Nothing in the the perfect world should climb to above MSRP prior to release but unfortunately for a few reasons this is the way things are at the moment. I have confidence that the Pokémon co. Will find the solution though!

To investors: Good luck selling your hoarded sealed products in the future. Because of all of this, younger people won't be able to get these products and in 10 or 20 years when they are in the age to be nostalgic and wanting to revisit things they love, they'll have no nostalgia towards these products because they couldn't get them, thus making demand low and your pile of hoarded sealed products worthless.

@@ericmackrodt9441 it’s an interesting point and I said something similar in a response to another comment on this video, I said that if children aren’t able to experience cards as kids like we all did how will the next generation fall in love with Pokémon? Perhaps they won’t…

@PokeCharla Exactly, one of the reasons cards from earlier sets are valuable is because people who grew up with them are now old enough to feel nostalgic and have their own income. It's very sad that a log of kids won't be able to experience this hobby because of "investors" and scalpers.

@ absolutely! The reason Pokemon is so big today is because all of us in that 25-35 age range grew up loving Pokemon as kids and you never lose that love, but if kids can’t experience cards today they won’t love them like we do when they are our age

It is sad for the fans that can't buy any products or packs, especially the children! If kids can't get packs now Pokemon will have no new fans in the next generations! What do you think is the solution to this?

@@PokeCharla Chiming in... I think The company should print the product like crazy. This will leave the proper people holding onto the product they have hoarded and allow the actual customers to find the same products at MSRP these borderline criminals have no interest in even opening themselves! The more they buy the more they print. Then when the set is overprinted we only have the scalpers to blame for buying something they did not want. I think this would be the proper thing to do!

@ I think in general what you’re saying is correct, but the problem I foresee is that demand will still outweigh the supply, scalpers will still be there to hoover up stock before the hardcore (and casual) fans and therefore that still leaves many unhappy people unfortunately

@@PokeCharla Fair, I just think the company printing more cards is the only solution I can think as far as getting cards in the correct peoples hand at msrp. I dont believe the company cares about the secondary market so it will not affect them and they will just sell more cards now. I played the game in tournaments as a kid growing up and I can not imagine not being able to get cards I needed for my deck because someone has cases just sitting in their garage. Seems a very fast way to kill the TCG community entierly! I also fear that the same folks willing to do this may be the same folks willing to repack and sell fake items. Terrible time all around for the TCG community on account of the greed.

@ you’re absolutely right, the only real solution I see for now is if the Pokémon company ramps up supply to a level that outweighs the demand, once that level has been reached well scalpers with thousands of sealed product will have nobody to sell products too. I have faith that all will end well, in general the Pokémon Company act well and make good decisions so I’m sure this won’t continue forever!

i dont think JT is going to be as good of a set as everyone thinks it will be. just from the trainers on the packs, outside of N, they really aren't popular characters.

I think the market being the way it is and FOMO is what’s driving the current situation, from what I can see apart from the cool nostalgic element of trainer owned Pokémon cards returning I haven’t actually seen any REALLY appealing cards leaked, I thought they would have cards and trainers from various generations going all the way back to 1st gen so the set appeals to everyone but no!

I might just skip JT for now. The hype is beyond silly. I felt a sense of urgency with Prismatic but I don't feel the same urgency with this set.

@@monkey39128 agreed, I think hype for JT right now is just hype from the market rather than a really good set generating its own hype… JT probably a good one to skip! Will you look to go heavy on the Team Rocket set?

@PokeCharla Yeah I will if I can! Team Rocket is one where I'll try to collect the whole set as well as invest in the boxes. Eventually I'd love to have all the Team Rocket sets complete. Been working on Ex Rocket Returns but that one is a b*tch to complete. 😂 Are you going to go heavy on it?

@ ufff, mate that set is a set and half! Good luck on that one mate! I’ve been tempted for a while now to go back and complete sets I didn’t finish as a kid but I can’t justify paying what it would require right now 😅 Yes mate I plan to! What I’ve learned from JT though is to be patient and see what cards are in the set, if I like the look of the first few leaked I’ll look to preorder a good amount but if not I’ll just a grab a few PC ETBs for display etc and move on!

@@Wafflepants-dl8fk I’m happy for you my friend, not many people could unfortunately, the Pokemon centre of course sells out quicker or slower depending on their region and the demand/amount of purchases made but I had people tell me that they couldn’t get any in time unfortunately!

Unfortunately, some of us have jobs and responsibilities that make us unable to time every supply drop from Pokémon center. If you have both the luxury of time and money, then good for you. Though it seems you still may lack empathy. Use some of that free time to work on that if you please.

Stop feeding into the fomo. Everyone will get product. PE isn’t even out yet and people are already complaining about not enough allocation when they have nothing but evidence to the contrary and they’re just being impatient. PE products have been delayed, we’re still getting new 151 product on shelves. Pokémon has shown clearly that they don’t intend on short printing any product

Respectfully, I don't believe that they would intend on short printing a product intentionally. I'm not attempting to feed fomo, simply commenting on the fact that it would appear that the TCG has entered a new era as I do believe the current situation makes it appear that way.
