Even with Sting's voice, shot, (probably from constantly singing and gigging), his voice is still hauntingly gorgeous. And Stewart's drumming...damn that boy could groove. Andy...is an underrated guitarist. Any idea how hard it is to keep time with 'reggae rock'? Andy is phenomenal. I was just 13 in 1980...and just discovering girls...and when I heard Roxanne...well...I nearly lost my mind wanting 'Roxanne'. And the hits just kept coming through the 80's. Ironic, back then, I thought I had missed out, having not experienced the late 60's and early 70's sounds as they happened...only to realize years later...there was an early 80's movement, I was living, and not nearly as aware of. Blondie, Police, Talking Heads...all from a great time.

3 years old but i’m 20 & love all of the classic bands and music, pure talent back then rather than majority of new music being altered to sound better and being bad in person. i’ve been to many concerts and festivals and it’s rare that artists even sound remotely similar to the music on streaming services. i envy anybody who got to grow up and live in the times when this sort of music was just coming onto the scene:)

Just seeing this makes my heart race faster. I was 16 when I found my first love...STING!! The Police were my EVERYTHING. I remember how much I loved him...still do. I met him here in Maui and literally couldn’t speak. I put a lei on him before his concert here...21 years ago! He leaned back and said “oh look I just got lei’d” needless to say I couldn’t speak after that. I started crying afterward. Even now at 54 years old..still adore him and the Police. In 2007 they toured and I was 8th row center at Dodger stadium. I flew from Maui just for it. I literally cried the whole time. My mom was with me. Was sooo sad they weren’t still together. Those three are such a huge part of my life and youth. So grateful for that...aloha! 🌈
