I am a regular viewer of this program and these discussions on various platforms. I think Maj.Gen. BK Sharma had briefed whole matter in a very succinct way and his message for three audiences is the real gist of solutions to the problem. Particularly to Kashmiris ( to look inward as to why they were repeatedly invaded from western side over last 300/400 years) and Indian audience is very real and true.

Have thoroughly enjoyed the discussions. All speakers spoke well and with conviction. I however cannot understand comments of Shri Bhan and the General about the present government’s efforts to address the alienation of part of Kashmir Society. They have to study the role of the Abdullahs and Muftis and the Congress Party. These three considered the Valley, and Srinagar region alone as the only part&people of J&K worthy of attention. This region was taken as pocketboroughs of the Families and all attention & funds provided by the Centre were used maximum on it. They gave most of the jobs to the urban Valley population, deliberately neglecting Jammu and Ladakh, besides ignoring completely the rural part of this particular region. I have read that 76% of govt. jobs were provided to the urban population of this region. In fact it was a huge bloated government machinery built up to ensure these corrupt families could rule as maharajas forever. The Centre is now going aggressively to develop the rural population and also trying to get the Panchayats to play a maximum part in the administration and governance of J&K. The Ladakhis are happy at their UT status and the power they have to govern themselves. The Centre is deeply involved with the neglected, backward areas and people, and I feel J&K will have its CM and cabinet soon from educated and committed young people from the rural areas. The Abdullahs, Muftis and Congress need to be questioned on their ‘governance’ and also the wealth they have accumulated with support of the Congress.

Refreshing to hear thoughtful discussion even though one may not agree with everything. Congratulations. Having left Kashmir 56 years ago , I have sensed increasing alienation with India. This is not because India did not invest in Kashmir or did not develop Kashmir. Kashmiris ( and people of GB)need to decide their own future. They don’t need to be told what is good for them. The British were efficient administrators and brought India into the 20th century. Still Indians wanted them out . Good governance is not a substitute for freedom. Right now Kashmiris are Indian subjects, not loyal citizens of India.

Mr Bhan’s parting comments seem to suggest that India has taken a part of Pakistan and China and not the other way round. India should not look for friendly relations with them it has to increase its score strength so that these countries start thinking of maintaining friendly relations with India!!

Unfortunately we have not learned lessons from the past. If India had kept its promises and agreements with the People of Jammu & Kashmir, Then Kashmir would have been a very strong Partner with India. But India alienated the People of Kashmir by slowly breaking its Promises one by one. By making Ladakh a Union Territory they further alienated the people of Kashmir. It is a fact if China today invaded Kashmir then the vast majority of Kashmiris would welcome them with open arms. This is not the fault of Kashmiris. There is still time to save Kashmir if India implemented all its Promises and Agreements with Kashmir. India must make Kashmir a Partner and not an Enemy. Kashmir must have its own Prime Minister and full Internal Autonomy, its own Flag, as promised by Indian Government. Then no power on Earth will be able to separate Kashmi from India. I am from POK, where the Pakistani Government has also broken its Promises to the people of Kashmir by alienating Gilgi Baltistan from Kashmir and ruling with an Iron Fist.

BK Sharma missed out on how Pakistan is taking advantage of India situation. It is quietly working on converting GB into province. Elections are put in place where Army (Establishment) is in control of all the independents won. GB Government will be controlled by Army. GB will be 5th province of Pakistan while India is warming hits hands in Ladakh heights.
