I use a 5 rnd daily, with a 25 rnd monthly, for maintenance. Target is a plain sheet of printer paper Daily: 21' 1 rnd cold from holster Dry fire ~10 reps 1 rnd from holster 30' Dry fire from low ready ~25 rep 2rnd from low ready Reload 75' Dry fire *slow* from holster ~15 rep 1 rnd *slow* from holster Monthly: 21' 2nd cold from holster Dry fire ~15 rep 2rnd from holster x2 Reload 30'1 Dry fire from low ready ~20 rep 3rnd from low ready x3 Reload 75' 1 rnd *slow* from holster x10(reload x2) I use these drills as a standard, in addition to any other range training. Often I use them as warmup for more intensive sessions and as an evaluation, to close a session.

Nice man, do you incorporate a shot timer as well? Keep yourself to improving your time?
@springbloom59405 жыл бұрын
@@KitBadger On the monthly and occasionally at the end of the week, yes. As a norm, for the daily drill, no. This drill is mostly about ensuring a first round hit and preparing for a follow-up. I think a first round hit is the most critical and fundamental standard to meet, so thats where Ive focused my maintenance.

Nice drill, I'll try it next weekend. Here's my low round count(10rds) version I practice now and then: 15yds draw to single head(3×5) shot 2.5 sec par. Miss? Go home(you may only get one chance in real life, done for the day, high stakes? You bet.), good hit? Transition to 10yd target, 4 shots in the pumper (2, 3×5 cards crossed) for recoil management on accurate subsequent shots, 1 sec par, slide lock reload, 2 second par, transition to 7 yd target, 3/4 shots to the pump, 2/1 to face(okay, 3x5 card) 3 sec par. I've only done this 3 times, no timer( a lot of chicagos or mississipp's followed by dammits). What do you think? Oh yeah don't forget the tactical snack check upon completion..lol

Great advise, I know that Lena Miculek also posted a video similar to this one. About how to practice without burning up a lot of ammo. I know a lot of shooters who just burn up tons of ammo every time they go shooting but they are horrible shots, but they think that they are good.

Excellent drill. Shooting the 1 to 5 was too costly for me, so I changed it to the 1 to 3........this is great at 30-cents per"up" for me with reman Freedomunition 9mm. Cool holster.
@KitBadger6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy. I too find this drill to provide a lot of value for the fairly small financial investment. As much as I like the 1 to 5, it costs a lot. :)

@philcalvello74695 жыл бұрын
Is this your own private range?? The problem I’m having is finding a place to shoot and train like this. Shooting club is a pain in the ass to get a membership. And the state park range is 50yds and 100yds . And it’s not fun shooting pistol at 50yds. Are you on state land just out in the woods somewhere?? I’m in PA anyone have any advice on this ??
@KitBadger5 жыл бұрын
This was out on private property. I feel your pain Phil, it can be hard. I'd look for some BLM land or something.

So been watching a few of your vids since being featured on TGC. I appreciate your mellow/grounded personality. Shooters I enjoy watching like you, Garand Thumb, Whitey, and others are great. You are personable and don't seem always on or robotic. I appreciate the lack of superfluous press checks and neck snapping threat assessment.

@KitBadger7 жыл бұрын
It is actually part of the AttackPAK system. I have been using their Stealth Pack for awhile, and the waist belt of their pack separates from the backpack portion to be used as a stand alone war belt. I will be doing a review on it before too long...
