This took me back to when I was 20 years old and working for a Porsche/Audi dealer. A man came in to pick up his Carrera GT and puttered out to the main highway on the short road that ran in front of the dealership. At first, I was a little bummed he didn't romp on it but about 15 seconds later, I heard what sounded like the checkered flag dropping on a one-car F1 race as he nailed it getting onto the main highway. I can still hear that in my head even now, ten years after the fact. It's the most amazing sounding car EVER.

Melvin Johnson it helps when somebidy fists the anal cavity and while doing it slides their finger along the walls of the large intestine until they feel the rash or open sore that is causing the constipation. They will bring their hand out and there will be blood on their fingers this is how you know... Then they go in there again with plastic wrap (just a little piece) and slap it up against the sore and it should stay there this way the feces should hypothetically slide right past. Without even watching the video I agree 100% to the title. It truly is the best car ever made. It looked beautiful when it was new and it looks beautiful now, in fact it looks like it could be a brand new car, completely timeless. Also it is a manual and thus the shifting is also timeless and then there's the engine noise. It is Porsches ultimate masterpiece.

Eh, I think the McLaren F1 was the pinnacle of supercars for this era, and the Ferrari Enzo and Carrera GT are on the downswing from that. The F1 was a one off design by Gordon Murray, based off the simplicity of the Honda NSX, but up scaled with the latest and greatest technologies. The F1 was way ahead of its time, and it wasn't until a good 5-7 years after its debut on the market, that the industry somewhat caught up. The GT is nice, but the F1 did it first.

I like the Mclaren F1 a lot...... I also agree with putting a for this era qualifier on it. The focus on what should a "supercar" be changed around this time meaning that no one was going to go after its speed record for some time. They really did set the standard for its era on how to build a super car, however I am actually partial to the Jaguar XJ220 from this era. I saw a XJ220 S once though behind class at a local car dealer.... that thing produced something like 690BHP.

The supercar market has gone through a lot of phases. Right in the midst of the Carrera GT's initial production run, the market was all about posting the fastest Nurburgring lap times and EVERY one of the major car manufacturers came out with some kind of freak car that posted a 7'40 or better. I believe in 2004, the Carrera GT was the fast production car around the ring bested only by the McLaren F1. It seems in 2008-2010, a whole slew of specialized sports cars made their way around the ring and the GT has since fallen past the top 30. The F1 is STILL a top 10 car, posting its time back in 1996... Both cars lead the Nurburgring shootout for some time. Needless to say, if I had a billion dollars, I would've definitely have a GT right next to my F1. Both cars are great.

it's sad to say but the value has nothing to do with Paul walker's death. it's because this type of engine will not be made anymore. car companies already announced that there will never build a NEW V12 engine ever again because of the inverement issues now a days. Not that this car is a V12 but it says something about these big engine blocks with 5+ liter motors which will almost not be made anymore. these cars are unique and 20 years ago they wher too but on this day (2016) people start realizing how good and unique this type of cars are. n/a, no electrics etc that's why the prices are sky rocket high.

Have you ever played NFS: Porsche Unleashed? Was released in 2000. In my opinion it is BY FAR, the greatest Need for Speed computer game of all. It covers all Porsche models from its beginnings in 1950s to the year 2000. The racing physics are very good; not too hard nor too easy; it accurately balances sim and arcade physics. The tracks are great; the racing is great, addictive and fun. There is a Porsche 'factory driver' mode also which is difficult to pass and does require some serious driving skills. I've tried more recent Need For Speed installments, and they all suck compared to "Porsche Unleashed": Need for Speed became a dumbed down arcade game after 2000. Before 2000, Electronic Arts took NFS much more seriously...
