Thank you for the honest review, I am looking to buy an AC unit and use it in the same way you are. I live in Orlando and doesn't sound like this AC unit is the way to go.

Absolutely, i would agree if your mainly going to use the van the hot humid areas, in my opinion the cruise in comfort system is the best for heat and humidity and performance wise i think it will serve you the best as far as comfort and efficiency, if i was building a van to use primarily in that environment thats the system i would install, i think it is the best for space, efficiency, and it doesnt take up valuable roof real-estate

Ok I’ll look up the other system I have the smaller Amazon sprinter and should be enough Thank you and appreciate your KZbin videos! 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing. For my sprinter, I am considering between 120v mini split, 12v trucker AC on rear door and this portable EcoFlow unit. I could see using my sliding window as the vent for this unit and setting up when needed on counter top. Or, install a trucker 12v AC on rear door, modest cost, efficient, relatively easy to permanently install... 120v mini split unit will be most challenging to install, not sure about how efficient or practical to permanently mount it on a tire carrier... maybe the 12v trucker AC...

Thanks and i really think your battery bank and how much use really dictates what you need, if you just need a little ac to cool everything off at night the ecoflow works good, the 120v mini splits like the mr cool pre charged diy units are efficient but prob a bit over kill for cooling but they will require alot of ac power to run for any length of time, that outside unit is pretty big and the mini split inside unit will take up a bunch of space, i am not familiar with the trucker ac, but at 12v its a good option as well, if you need cooling alot i would look at a rooftop unit like the 12v nomadic cooling or dometic units, if rooftop is out of the question cruise n comfort makes a great unit its just pricey

All the thermal mass inside of the van an all the interior of that van has to cool down first. But after that it should run like a champ. Or if it were cooler from driving around a the vehicle air was on an or windows down to flush slot of the heat out prior. Would of done alot better

I agree, and once everything was at temp, your correct it worked well, the summer humidity and heat of the south is hard to overcome, and i think when connected to power like at a campground and leaving running to achieve the balance temps it will work great and easily keep the van cool

Should probably cool the van first with its AC then have the Wave maintain that temperature..

I try to do that but the front ac in the van will only do so much to cool down the back too. The air volume in the 170 vs the heating surfaces of the van sides and roof even with good insulation is a loosing battle but it does take the edge off for sure to do it that way
