​@@oOTheMuffinManOoso if you have a good grasp on using chopsticks and can reliably use just a fork to cook a whole meal; get some nice metal ones (the ones I use have grips because I'm butterfingered) If not, then I would say to practice the cooking thing because transitioning from switching off was hard for my friends to pick up, and practice eating with chopsticks (working from easier noodle dishes to rice dishes etc etc); for that I'd say get some wooden ones (good quality wood chops last a long while, I've had mine for almost a decade)

I’m a white American who’s grandparents met in Japan (Air Force) they brought many things back including love of the culture and food. I was taught to eat with chopsticks alongside a knife and fork as a toddler. It blew my mind when I saw my husband struggling. I had no idea it was something not everyone knew how to do.
