This is actually kind of adorable. It's like watching European people rediscovering firearm technology. It's pretty cool to see him figure out these things that people familiar with guns knew would be an issue (like the case over-expanding and getting stuck, that he should've used candle wax instead of glue). The steel casings usually expand a little less than brass (which is probably why they used them for the blanks so they don't get stuck), but they tend to be more "grippy" than brass when they do expand. That's why steel-cased ammunition often--but not always--has that lacquer coating, like what you find on mid-teir steel 7.62X39. Brass also "snaps back" a little bit more after expanding in the chamber, so it usually is still a little bit smaller than the chamber after it's been extracted. In real guns, the case needs to expand a bit in the chamber to form a seal between the chamber and the projectile as it travels down the barrel. The blank gun and it's ammunition isn't designed for that, since it's not supposed to shoot anything or contain any pressure in the barrel, as it's meant to cycle without a BFA (essentially a barrel plug). I was worried that the gun might blow up with the glue rounds, but it probably wasn't going to happen the first few times. Something to consider though: since the projectile (the BB) is much smaller than the barrel, it's going to be bouncing around against the sides of the barrel as it travels down. That's definitely going to weaken the barrel, which is already not designed to hold any pressure. If something happens that puts that barrel under pressure, such as using a projectile that fits the barrel or possibly even the "glue" rounds (unlikely, but I wouldn't trust it), then that barrel very well might blow up. It's not designed for what you're doing, so it's likely being weakened each time you do something it's not meant to do. So you could run into a situation where you try something 2 or 3 times and it blows up on the 4th. Just a heads up. Have fun and be safe!

Well, I'm European and I know many hunters and sport shooters, and they own mostly European-made firearms. Ever heard of Glock or Beretta? H&K or Mauser? Walther? Sako? Tikka? It's true that it is more complicated to buy a firearm in most European countries compared to the U.S., but we also have a lot less gun-related homicides.

Like what cal79 said…. I’m aware the rounds are made for the gun, but by modifying it with wax/resin etc is fire forming the cartridge to the walls of the chamber. To the point where it’s difficult to extract. There is a high chance of the chamber exploding. I reload ammunition for all of my rifles and stuck cases are a big warning sign of excessive pressures. You can put into the Barrel another barrel (4,5mm pellet) and somehow attach it. This will improve the velocity. You have to use the whole pressure that the blank is creating. Put first the pellet in the barrel and behind the pellet, the blank. There shouldn’t be any space between the projectile and the barrel. Behind the projectile should be the blank.

@@ExtraThiccc yes, that’s right. That’s why, he should put a original gun barrel inside the Barrel of the ,,fake barrel or blank barrel” Or he can cut off the barrel of the blank gun to a certain point and attach a .22 barrel or maybe other caliber. I would prefer an air gun barrel 4,5mm or 5,5mm, it will hold the pressure. Some people even converted air guns to illegal rimfire firearms or illegal firearms using blanks.

Gun with blank round can be lethal if it hit in less than short-medium range. Remember when Bruce Lee’s son, Brandon Lee died by .44 magnum with blank round revolver while filming the movie, The Crow back in 1993 (just 20 years after Brandon’s father, Bruce is passed away). Another similar incident was Rust movie where Alec Baldwin shot fired the blank gun killing 1 film crew who is a cinematographer from Ukraine and other 1 is wounded.
@ShaggNasty-yk1ie
@ShaggNasty-yk1ie 6 ай бұрын
As far as i understand, the gun that killed Brandon Lee was real. The firearms "expert" on the set glued the tips of the bullets into the front of the chambers for realism. The gun was then fired with an empty cartridge, but the primer had just enough power to push the bullet tip into the barrel. Then during filming, the gun was fired with a blank cartridge, the bullet tip already in the barrel exited and killed Brandon. It was effectively a real bullet.

Neither instance involved a blank cartridge on its own, both of these ended with an actual projectile leaving the barrel and striking someone. As ShaggNasty said, Brandon Lee was killed by a blank round forcing a bullet, that was lodged in the barrel, out of the gun. The gun used by Alec Baldwin fired an actual live round.

You should invest in eye protection if you don't have them. Maybe you could first add wax, then the BB, and finally add another layer of wax to stop the BB from falling. You can either do this with wax or another material that will block the BB from the powder, the point is to basically make a wad for your cartridge so it will be more secure and more accurate. Maybe like a Muzzle loaded rifle (Flintlocks and stuff).

I did the calcs and that chronograph has to be wrong imo, if it did have 9851 fps, it would definitely go through that steel plate like butter and probably the wall behind it, it would have the kinetic energy above 1400 joules, a .22 LR has about 162 joules and the power for 9x19 Luger doesn't go above 700 joules in most cases. The .17 Mach IV delivers about 1000 joules of energy and is the same caliber, only has a 6x times heavier bullet and . Even a .17 incinerator reaches only 6000 fps. The speed of the BB would have to be almost Mach 8. The BB and some piece of debris probably got read really close to each other and that's why it gave you that number.

Pretty sure the chrono is talking nonsense. 9581 fps with a standard 5.4 grain steel BB equates to about 1100 ft/lbs muzzle energy. An actual 230 grain .45 ACP will chrono at about 800 fps, giving roughly 350 ft/lbs muzzle energy. There's no way that bb is coming out of that barrel with 2 and half times the power of a .45. And sooner or later that chamber will fail and he'll say goodbye to his fingers.

It’s because the glue held onto the green plug, the green plug is held by the roll crimp so there was a fairly big peak in pressure, I also have an “older” blank gun with the barrel clear, when I used light projectiles I had them stuck, then I used about 60-70gr projectiles which I made and it started ejecting almost ejecting as it cocked the hammer again but it didn’t get stuck again

The reason it got stuck is that barrel isn't supporting the shell casing it needs to have a tight tolerance around the case down to the rim of the casing where the extractor claw would grab the brass but in your case it looks like steel casing,and it must be able to withstanding a decent amount of pressure, with the tight tolerance the case will not have any room to deform and be misshapen.👍🤯

The BB caused the bloating in the round that got lodged in your barrel, It happens because the projectile is inside the casing and has space to bounce around from the combustion of the gun powder where as a regular round has the projectile right at the tip and the only space it has to move in is the barrel which obviously is a much denser and robust material than a casing.

Theoretically speaking the 6mm ball bearing fits how you would expect a ball bearing to fit compared to a bullet. I think it poking out just a little serves no problem if you fix that stability issue by just gluing it to the inside of the casing. It would stick out less than the smaller ball bearing when it was on the outside and the diameter increase + mass increase MIGHT be worthwhile esp because it's already so fast. That's really wild that it's 9k+ because a 9mm bullet is only 1200 FPS.

@@HappyDude1 dude please don't you could and probably will die, a blank gun is not made out of strong enough steel to handle a full size projectile to be pushed down the barrel. The only reason you didn't die is because that 4.5 millimeter BB was so small, the blank powder went around it. If that powder didn't escape around the BB, the gun would have exploded like a hand grenade. Also your blank gun modeled after the M1911A1 is direct blowback meaning the spring is what prevents the gun from going out of battery too fast and the round then exploding outside the chamber. The real M1911A1 is made out of heat treated steel fortified with the Bessemer Process and the real M1911A1 uses a locked breach which keeps the slide from moving backwards out of battery until the bullet has left the barrel and now it's safe for the slide to move backwards without the cartridge prematurely exploding your hands and body into a pool of blood. Your blank gun will explode and possibly kill you if you try to force it to push a long projectile down the barrel, if you intend on doing this anyway, put the gun in a vice and attach the spring and take cover, this isn't worth your life.

When a live round is fired, the case will expand slightly and seal the chamber. When you put a BB in the blank, it will mimic a live round in some ways. I guess this could be the reason the cases were stuck in the chamber. The slide also recoils a bit in some of the clips we see here, mimicking a live round.

When you add the BB you're increasing the pressure in the explosion and the case is expanding a lot more than it normally would. Too much pressure will blow the gun up.
@SecretKnowledge_IKnowTooMuch
@SecretKnowledge_IKnowTooMuch 5 ай бұрын
Hey man not sure if this has been said yet, but before I begin this is in regards to your safety! The reason that the first round with the BB within the PAK blank became forged (I'm only at 8:30 exactly so far) is due to the fact that you used too much glue. Not only will too much glue create more difficulty in the creation of of the rapid gas expansion (retarding the ignition and causing for less of a "gas buildup" and more of a "TNT-like explosion". Okay I had the video playing in the background and you've already addressed two things I wanted to state. The above ^^ as well as the usage of the candle wax. Candle wax is very useful, but I am seriously SERIOUSLY concerned about your safety as you need to realize, that a PAK blank gun is designed (in almost a, dare I say, nefarious and malicious way that it is ACTUALLY **INTENDED** to cause the gun to blow up in the hand of it's user when even as much as HALF or less the pressure of a real bullet will create. Please reply to this message and I can go over how you can either re-create or continue these messages safely. You are putting not just your hands, wrists and arms but your entire body and life at risk each time you put a modified blank that has ANY form of projectile. This is not an exaggeration my friend - this is a blatant and accurate fact. This is why in movies, or in the military, they do not use PA Knall blanks or blank guns. They use real firearms that are fitted with a barrel-choke-muzzle [semi] plug to allow for the weapons action to cycle while ensuring that their is no chance of the gun exploding from the pressure contained between the breech face and the muzzle is enough that (in the case of an AR15) it will carry the BCG to the rear with the same amount of force that the ejected casings hit the deflector and bounce out of the breech very accurately. PA Knall blanks and firearm blanks (I am sure you are aware of this part tho) are very VERY different from each other. A PAK blank is a casing with a malleable but hard and flat plastic/polymer mixture that extends from the base of the casing (where the primer's front-face is poking into the casing to ignite the powder) all the way to the tip of the casing (This is why you are not actually able to remove these plugs - only open them). This is ADDITIONAL PROTECTION as well to not just protect the gun from exploding but to protect the casing of the PAK blank to not deform or change it's shape due to (as previously said) the malleable/softness of the plastic/polymer mixture; as this will only cause damage to the chamber of the blank gun and the chamber is the most critical component in regards to prevention of the gun having a catastrophic failure. The dimensions of a 9MM PAK blank are 9x21mm. However, a real firearm blank cartridge cointains *less* gunpowder typically due to the fact they are meant to be used in conjuction with a barrel choke to not allow the gas to just exit through the barrel and not reloading itself. They are 9x19mm casings that are extended and crimped to be the same shape and length of a bullet attached. These blanks are safer than PAK due to the reduced amount of powder, manufacturer's liability coverage in regards to the usage of these types of pyrotechnic devices states that you should only use "x" calibre blank for that specific rifle. So an AR15 chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO canalso safely discharge .223 Remington since a 5.56mm round is just a .223 p +p round with slightly different cartridge design at the neck of the casing. (the 'p +p' designation means "over pressured round="+P" ad the additional P essentially means "[additional"]) so while a 5.56 can shoot both 556 and 223 an AR in .223 will NOT safely fire a 5.56mm round and even as little as 1-2 shots could cause a catastrophic failure. The amount of pressure needed to cycle the slide is not occuring only due to the fact there is no semi-plug in the barrel. I myself own many firearms but I have x3 PAK blank guns as well. They are all front-firing and have a flat rectangular piece of solid steel wleded to the inside of a thin steel tube that makes up the inner most part of the barrel and it is then coated with a zinc/iron to reinforce it. So it can safely and properly fire semi auto PAK blanks all day. If i removed the barrel, and put a .32acp round in, I could maybe MAYBE fire off 1-6 shots before a catasrophic failure could occur. The PSI of a .32 acp vs a semi-plugged 9mm PAK is only around (at the very most) 4,000PSI to maybe 8200PSI. You need to please PLEASE understand this post, as you are in fact putting yourself at fatal risk to make these videos. Reply and I will give you my email and go through this further, I am a gunsmith and avid firearms advocaat and sport shooter with former military training. Thank you and I hope this msg reaches you in time!!!

Gas expansion is just another word for an explosion. A localized explosion is not good for health. I'm no physicist but I can calculate the physics of this blank gun being fired while pressed against your skin and the results are total FUBAR, you can get hospitalized playing with these like they are silly toys, and so avoid doing that. These are at the end of the day, blank guns, which he has made BB cartridges for. You wouldn't shoot yourself with a gun that fires copper or steel ball bearings, would you? I didn't think so.

You should definitely try a lead pellet that just fits inside the blank case. You'll need to remove the plastic entirely and seal it with wax again. That way you can make way better use of the gas pressure, it'll be more accurate since its actually guided by the barrel and lead is soft enough for the thing not to blow up in the process. You could even mold your own pellets since lead melts easily but do it outside because of the fumes and please no open flame near any gunpowder.
