I am a 1600-1700ish player on a good day when clock is something like 1hr for 40 moves. However I have had the opportunity to play several games against a couple of different masters and an 8 game informal match against an IM where I drew 2 and lost 6. Good players inevitably tell me that I very often and come into the middle game with significant advantage only to almost always squander it somehow in the end. I think your approach to teaching is helping me understand why and I am grateful to you for that.
