It is really sad when people conflate pessimism with realism or intelligence. Sure, optimism can lead to naive world views but I've also experienced people who's pessimism paralyzed them into inaction and apathy to the horrors of the world. Sadly the world can not change with just one. A combination of both views is realism.

I disagree. I don't think the combination is realism. I think we can look at the world realistically, stew on it, and spin things as positive as we can. That's still optimism. There's no reason to ignore the silver lining because it's so beautiful :)

Optimism & masks of in a pin box reality. Smiles on there face all the time they want to take your place. Lets be real optimism is the way to make your life better, but if you live in a poor neihboor hood it may be the only loney friend you have. Its taken years of optimism to change things like equality, Justice, so you cant give up on optimism, it take what ever time it takes to change things.

What are you really being so insecure about? Idk what else to say to you, because you seem to twist every sentence that i say into something negative. If i give you something to be optimistic about cuz its true, you interpret it as just giving you false hopes. If i said "hope you're fine", you interpret it into something negative again Maybe i should just stop saying anything I just hope no one would be harmed. But of course, the more i mention it, the more you'll do the opposite. So whats the point of talking I know you want me to feel some more emotions like being mad to you, but im realy not cuz im optimistic that things will be fixed too. So idk what else to say. Idk really whats happening, im not sure what it really is. But pls dont harm anyone. You dont have to be scared of the future. You dont need to control everything. Too many optimists, they don't see nothing bad. So bad things are happening and optimist don't see them. If you can't see bad things and try to change them, you encourage them. Word is going in wrong direction. If you don't see that you are just blind.

optimism is necessary to make a change. Most of the non-profit foundations exist because their founders believed they could change the world. Negative or "realistic" people think things are too bad to even try to fix it. Without optimism, you cant fix the world.

The world is getting better, poverty rates are dropping rapidly worldwide, violent crime is much much lower than even the 90s. We are actually more equal than ever before, regardless of what the news would tell you. Yet, Suicide rates are rising. Maybe we have too many pessimists.
