How much ya wanna bet some of them might become criminals? As someone who has a friend with really strict parents, I can tell you that harsh punishments can make a child secretive and loath there parents. My friend made her own money by having a sugar daddy and let me tell you something, she was 13 at the time. It was disgusting but she didn't know what else to do, that is how she brought her own phone that her parents didn't know about. She did that because her parents didn't give her much space and would easily get mad at her. So yeah, that is a story I wanna get out.

If a kid did something that deserved to be in "weekend jail", they should be in juvi. There's no way a bad attitude and bad grades warrant any of this treatment. These parents would rather pay 75 dollars instead of talking to their kids. Jail isn't necessarily known for "rehabilitation" (which is why criminals end up in jail multiple times) so these parents are basically preparing these kids for a future life of crime. And to top it all off, now these kids hate and fear their parents, so there's no way these kids will ever listen to their guardians again. These parents are just digging themselves into a deeper hole.
