Great advice. The number one reason why I always remind myself to quickly let go when someone does me wrong on the road is that the moment I lose focus and let myself get caught up in being mad or giving someone the finger or shaking my fist at them is that I am likely to miss that next thing that’s coming up that can also take me out. It’s just not worth it. Stay focused always and be ready for that next obstacle that might take you out!

💕 this! I'm learning slower than others but I don't care. I like going around my little dead end until I'm comfortable going on the road. The whole point is to be safe and have fun. 86 Rebel 450 is perfect for me.

WoW what a great episode! It's so true about all the videos out there, especially the ones that I'm guilty of clicking on just to watch them hit the ground, lol. But on a serious note, You have given great advice. Stick to the back rods and ride them over and over until you become more comfortable with your bike. Putting the seat time in and riding with an experienced rider/friends who can coach you is such a big help. 🥰

You are correct. Most rides seem to believe that counter steering doesn't apply at low speeds. So, they aren't able to observe what they are doing to make the machine do stuff. Mike the Swede is great for understanding how to race, but I'm too old now to race.

Enjoyed this episode. Agree with you. Chose wisely the channels you view.

Hello KS...I' have been riding for almost 50 years now and I totally agree with you... There is to much people on-line who try to teach riding. In sweden we have to pass some really hard tests before we are aloud on public roads, and that's a good thing... Big thanks for your interesting wievs on the subject!!

Lots of great points. Revzilla just did a blog entry about this, even specifically calling out new women riders. I guess i was spoiled in that when i started riding seriously social media/youtube were nothing like they are now. But i think this advice is solid for any interest, not just motorcycling.

I don't ride, but wanting to I've watched and learned from watching videos. Not about how to ride, but the experience of being a rider, and it's made me a better driver in relation to motorcycles, e-bikes, even bicycles. More then anything I have learned what Bad riders look like and I bring that into my driving and if I ride I will definitely bring it into that.

I think with the people sharing the accidents and drops it's not that they are sharing for you to learn but it's for the clicks, people want to go vial even if it's at the cost of them damaging things and that's a huge problem. New riders I always recommend MSF course and either a honda shadow or rebel. The other influencers I absolutely hate are the ones that make every video a commercial to sell something. If I bought the next new thing every time these clowns vomit something out I'd be homeless. They are really hurting the motovlog the community more than anyone else, I'd say more than the click bait queens but they're usually the same people.

I cringe at those videos as a ex motorcycle instructor, there are so many bad habits put out there

I joined a group of people riding in LA (MotoLA) and man was there a ton of bad information flying around. The first day I rode with them one guy was full-on Rossi leaning his body so hard that the bike was damn near upright in the corner.
