I’d never go off of a March comp when buying a card in August. The majority of the market on singles is way down since March. I do like trading down as long as it works out for you.

I wouldn't strictly rely on that one sale even if it was a month ago as opposed to five. At the same time, I wouldn't completely ignore it either, but that's just my approach.

Thanks Steve! I will not be in Philly, September will be a pretty hectic month. Lots of events going on outside of cards in addition to all the regular shows.

Awesome video as always! I really enjoy your content! I know you keep track of your costs in your spreadsheet per card. How do you account for the cost of cards in a trade-down situation especially since the cards you got back range greatly in value? Are you just considering your cost at the most recent comp despite what your actual cost was for the big card that you traded down from? The Burrow you had was stickered at $5500 but I imagine your actual cost into that card was a bit less than that. So even though your trade value was ~$5500 in what you got back, it's not truly what you are into those cards for. Hope that makes sense! Sorry for geeking out on the numbers, but I have a feeling you have an appreciation for that kind of thing haha

Great question. Essentially, the cards/cash in the trade replace the Burrow on my spreadsheet. I believe I was into the Burrow at $4500 as a single card deal. Now, that "deal" is for $4100 and consists of everything I got back in the trade.
