Cool reaction, Ellis. I really do enjoy the way you describe the difference between a great song and a mediocre song and how some artists can take a mediocre song and, just because of their voice or performance, make it great. I see Daneliya do that a lot of times. A lot of her covers are really popular songs that already were great on their own, yet she seems to have improved on them. I think what we are seeing lately is her just singing what she enjoys listening to, more than trying to copy the “great” artists. her professionalism is just uncanny. When she was on America’s Got Talent, singing Jessie J’s, “Who You Are”, you could clearly see the camera sweeping across the stage and Daneliya addressed her performing toward it, tracking with it the entire way, until it passed, when she immediately snaps eyes and performing to the forward cameras. It was just super super next level performing. When she was on the television show the worlds best, she sang the song “What About Us”, by P!nk, and, again, the camera came out on the stage and circled her. She circled around with it and the spin effect was totally pro. This girl has mad skills. That doesn’t even talk about her singing, which is out of this world crazy stupid good level for a 14-year old. Thanks for showing her. I really really enjoy your reactions on her music. Even if the songs aren’t for all of us, when she sings them they become totally likable. I hope you will continue to show her in the future.

If you remember her song 'Who You Are', when the drone came in from her right she caught it from the side and then it became her whole focus and then when it reach a certain point on her left she let go of that and re-captured the camera in front of her. She is a natural. About as natural as a 14 yr.old can be. Every step of the way she just keeps getting more and more spectacular. The song she did before this was something I have been mentioning in every comment section over the last 3-4 months she was on the show. She showed a little bit in her performance of Jessie J's 'Who You Are'. But in her new cover of a Birdy song, 'Not About Angels' she uses that part of her vocal arsenal to a point where you now know what Angels sound like. I can't stop listening to her and I have yet to not cry when I listen to her. Thank you for your reactions they are always full of great insight and you are enjoying yourself. Keep them coming.

@@AleksanderOff Дело не в нациях, а в Казахстане. Там дружат с музыкой. Абы как, петь, там не проходит. Большая конкуренция. Один Димаш чего стоит. Новое поколение подымает, вокальный, стандарт. I think you have a few singers that can take an iconic song that everyone loves and they can make it their own. I haven't really seen Daneliya do this yet, but I think the best one I can remember is Adam Lambert. Not a fan of his music, but when he does covers they can be off the chart amazing and iconic on their own. This is in reference to your last little comment about great music versus great singers.

Daneliya also covered Tears of Gold by a very special artist named Faouzia. HIGHLY recommend you also check out the original song. (Specifically the stripped, piano + vocal only version.) I think you'll be blown away.
@kenmclemore5234 жыл бұрын
You make an excellent point about the lyrics; I found them somewhat "inside" and confusing. This is one of Taylor's "gotcha" songs, so lyrically it is almost free verse; which, I think, attracted Daneliya to the challenge of putting an artistic expression to it of her own. Hence, the Christina Aguilera vibe and the "have mercy" mature look. Simply proves, once again, Daneliya has got the chops. Enjoyed your analysis; you're dead on as usual. KDM

Daneliya has a natural connection to the audience, one of the panelists on her first ever tv show appearence commented that they felt singled out when Daneliya looked at them during the performance and had to sit up straighter. Daneliya was eight at the time and the youngest in the national competition 'Аялаган Астана', she won the audience award as well as the grand prize.
@feet_first4 жыл бұрын
Another one of those Kazak panelists, speaking Russian, compared her as an eight year-old, to a youthful Marilyn Monroe, flirting with a jaded audience with her vibrato. In the end, all sixteen Аялаган Астана panelists spread over four rounds, scored her ten out of ten. In the Ukraine Kids Voice when she sang "Rise Up" the coaches each began to cry when she sang directly at them, "...for you,... for you...for you". Not to mention Drew Barrymore's OMG reaction while judging 'What about us' at The World's Best.
