THE PROMISE (To Bruce Lee)

A young man from Longview, Washington stands at the grave of Bruce lee and makes a promise to earn his black belt in kung fu. 12 years later, he finally reaches his goal, and Bruce Lee's widow hears about the promise kept. Linda Lee-Cadwell takes it upong herself to come and visit the now-32 year old man, and congratulate him for keeping his promise to her late husband. The man's name is Dustin Bean, and he was born with Down's Syndrome.

Saw this piece a while back. No matter what any one is saying today about whether Bruce Lee was the real deal. That he was never proven in combat (competitively). It's undeniable how he has influenced MILLIONS. Literally and will continue to. A man who passed away in 1973. That is incredible. Just based on his on-screen film charisma. He was never a world champion fighter. Never completed and yet look at all he's accomplished in his short time when he was living. Just a few years.

I hope no one takes this wrong and starts attacking me like a lot of idiots do for saying this, but Linda Lee (In my opinion) is the type of lady who looks even better and better as she gets older. I appreciate how she always continued to honor Bruce Lee's legacy and humbly speak on his behalf and tell his and their story over and over again and she seems like it never gets old. I really think she is a great woman from all the interviews I've seen and a great 2nd half to the master.
