I have eaten this for more than a week straight now, and I can say with 100% certainty that I will be eating it for the coming 2 years myself! Incredibly tasty, filling, and it makes me feel great with no intestinal distress whatsoever. I much prefer it with the vanilla casein instead of the chocolate one, and I'm mixing 20g of regular peanut butter with the water instead of PB2 to cut down on the cost, and 150-200g of water is the sweet spot for me.

I tried this today and I honestly found it very hard to eat. It did make me very full and it's also very rich in flavour, but it's rly rly sticky, and more salty and bitter than sweet, actually not sweet at all. Without the banana, I wouldn't be able to get it down. I used regular cocoa powder though, the one which is just pure cocoa, no sugar, used for baking, it's way darker. Is that the mistake perhaps? I rly don't want to add sugar.
@Thulle32 жыл бұрын
@@kooroshrostami27 The consistency wasn't quite to my taste the first time I tried it either, but 150-200g of water instead of 100g solved that for me. I use baking cocoa as well, but I found the chocolate casein together with that to be a bit much, so I much prefer the vanilla casein flavor. Maybe you are getting the saltiness from the type of peanut butter you are using? I use an unsalted one.
@kooroshrostami272 жыл бұрын
@@Thulle3 Yeah exactly, sticky thick. I also use vanilla casein, the choclate flavour is strong enough as is. I reckon that the hot chocolate cocoa he used probably makes it creamier and also it's sweetened and less bitter. I should probably leave out the pinch of salt, I can taste the salt because my ingredients are almost 0 sugar (cause baking cocoa). I will try to add more water and less cocoa, perhaps that fixes it. What I liked is how filling it is despite being low carb low fat.

Tried this with very dark cocoa powder at first and it was so bitter and terrible. Then I tried it with normal cocoa and it's pretty good for the macros! Have been eating this every day for the past week now!
@kooroshrostami272 жыл бұрын
When using baking cocoa which is more bitter and lower in fat, the recipe needs to be tweaked a little according to my experience. The more bitter, less creamy baking cocoa tends to make the meal more sticky and quite bitter and also a bit salty, since it lacks the sugar of the hot chocolate cocoa powder. In this case using a bit less cocoa and increasing the casein amount slightly makes it creamy again. Also, if you use salted peanut butter powder, you might consider to leave out the pinch of salt. Another way to make it creamier would be to use peanut butter instead of peanut butter powder, it's also cheaper that way, but it increases the calories as well as increasing the fat content whilst reducing the protein content.

Yeah Skyr is hard to impossible to find outside of Europe but Greek Yogurt, Indian Curd, or a low sugar/low fat yogurt are all good replacements and depending on locality pretty easy to find. Greek yogurt is very similar, Indian curd is thicker and higher in fat, and typical yogurt is lower in protein and less thick though. I've done this with ultra filtered milk (same fat content, 1/4-1/2 the carbs, and double the protein of normal milk) in place of water and yogurt and it works pretty good too.

I learned long time ago to soak them overnight and then discard the liquid if you eat oats every day because there's some antinutrient that gets released and it's not a problem in general but if you eat oats regularly it's better to do that. I soak with salt and cinnamon, cook with water and a spoon of peanut butter and then a banana (or apple) on top. It's done in 1-2min and it's great to have as a first meal on an empty stomach. Unfortunately, I can't eat oatmeal. However, in trying to find a substitute I have found that using a lighter variety of lentil soaked briefly and rinsed before being quickly cooked in the microwave works very well when quickly mashed with a fork. It's only slightly more effort and when left overnight is surprisingly good. It seems as if the sitting for that time allows the lentils' starches to congeal. This is similar to the overnight oats recipie that I´ve been eating for years as well, but this sure look much tastier and I´ll love to try it!

Absolutely superb recipe - tried it today, really enjoyed it, and it left me very sated - I actually struggled to eat the whole portion. Can I ask what your typical total daily calorie allowance is? Do you scale the recipe when you're on a cut?
@Felu2 жыл бұрын
hi, thank you 😊 i eat around 2500-2700 calories a day and yes, i scale this recipe down if I'm on a cut. no banana and 10g less oats for example

Will try this. Didn’t know about casein protein absorbing more liquid. I make a similar one with chia seeds and desiccated coconut added and topped with frozen blueberries 👌🏼

Do you actually use *chocolate* Casein or *vanilla* Casein powder for this one? 0:51 Here you're saying chocolate, but later on 2:02 it says 'vanilla casein' in your MyFitnessPal log :) Anyways I made this the first time tonight with some chocolate Casein from ZEC+ and Bensdorp cocoa powder and it came out great!

I honestly use both. I had the wrong entry because I didn't find the right entry on the website when I made the video

I'm eating something very similar for last few months. But instead I use spelt oats/flakes. They are far superior in texture and taste the next day. I also top up with berries (raspberries or black berries) as they have more nutrition than bananas.

idk how you eat this, i tried it 2 days in a row and even added some stevia, still was bitter and kinda weird

I don’t like adding protein powder to my food, it makes it even worse. so I’d rather just finish my meal and drink my protein shake

@@OmarCadabra so u have some terrible protein then, i add it do cakes and its delicious
@OmarCadabra7 ай бұрын
@@yessirski21 my protein itself is so delicious, it's iso100 cocoa bubbles. i have also tried different way protein with oatmeal, pancakes, french toast. didn't work for me so instead I would just enjoy my food and drink my protein. Same thing!

I've been the same. I make mine with just oats, choc protein powder, milk, and sweetener. Simple and I heat it up and take it in a thermos to work.

I don't know how it would work with overnight style, but I really love cottage cheese in my oats rather than greek yogurt. It has the best texture, I usually do berries and pb fit for a pb&j protein oatmeal.

It looked too much for me from the video so I halved everything and it was perfect! Thanks for this, I will use variations of it for both breakfasts and it works as a dessert!
