I'm not a professional athlete, but this video has helped me so much as I recover from a broken arm. As a grown man, needing my 76 year-old mother to tie my shoes for me has been humbling to say the least! God bless you.

I legit was on my way to upgrade to Cat3 by the end of this season and broke my radial head on a recovery ride which then put an end to the season. This video definitely came on time, I’m also making videos to showcase my comeback next year! Cheers and speedy recovery for you and your teammate! 👊🏾

Amazing video. I am a runner and I just encountered my first major injury right at the begging of race training. Your video helped me get things in order and get myself together to start recovery.

🙌🏾So good! Broke my elbow and sprained my ac joint on the last day of RAGBRAI last summer. Had olecranon surgery back in August. I loved everything you said bro. Amen to all of it. Keeps me grounded and everything in perspective. The road is tough but as long as you stay on that road and keep it moving, you’ll reach that destination.

Kept the blood and body moving kept me sane and I seen my progress of recovery through static training Doctors might disagree with what I did But you gotta keep moving 👍👌three weeks later back on a cycle path

wow thank you so much for that message about Christ. I'm an athletic person and am going through an injury which triggered a general anxiety disorder so the past couple of months have been kinda hellish. I'm also a Christian and what you said at the end has been a good reminder.

Awesome to hear that man. Seriously. Love it when Christian’s leave these kinda comments. Hard to be bold for our faith these days but I’m gonna keep doing it.

Everytime I got hurt where it was a 3 to 6 week healing process, I always came back stronger physically but I made sure to send it asap to get my mind back in the game. If one hates getting hurt, take up golf. Not bike racing.

Good advice, but I suck at golf. Gotta do what you’re good at it. Ha.

Just getting back from a month of "interesting" ilnesses and a nice back injury to topp it off, so this was a nice motivational view. A bigger interesting sidenote I have is something that happened a few years ago mid season aswell. I cut my knee open and required a few stitches, so some time off the bike. But just like two days later I started with alternative training, so pretty much nothing when it comes to fitness should have been lost. But when I got back on the bike after about two weeks my fitness had dropped ALOT. I dont really know why, but maybe the injury made the body produce more white bloodcells and decrease my hb level or something of that nature. So that two day away from training injury, was like a 6 week one anyways.
@DrewDillmanChannel Жыл бұрын
Yea. That is interesting. I know all cross training isn’t created equally so it could have not been as beneficial as what you thought. Not sure though. Glad you found the video motivational. Definitely why I created it.
@martinhammarlund3975 Жыл бұрын
@@DrewDillmanChannel Well I guess one could do test and compare it to just sit on my ass doing nothing for two weeks and see if it would have been even worse. I have done similar things when I switch from XC-skiing and running/cycling every spring and fall. I usually need a week to get "back", but this was longer and not as long time off the bike. Most years I mix in quite a bit of the other sports in the "off season" just to not feel like a bag of manure when I change season. Anyways, keep up the good work.

Drew, I subscribe for your race content. It's excellent. But I also enjoy most of your broader training and wellness based content like (most) of this video. In your previous videos you've been vocal in your founding and value of faith. I have no issues with that. I can get behind that. You do what works for you. But you lost me, and a subscriber, in your final take in this video. I don't need you to tell me my foundation is shaky because it's not grounded in Jesus. I'm curious. In the context of handling injury, do you believe that Christ is the only reliable identity foundation? Or, rather, that one should have an identity foundation (Christ or otherwise) that is not cycling? Thanks, and best wishes to you on your path to recovery. Get well soon.

I came here to say pretty much the same. Just because I'm not a believer doesn't mean my life is unfounded. Finding purpose in helping others and being a good person doesn't require belief in a specific deity. Imagine how it would sound if I said your where lost and your life misguided if you didn't believe in the ancient Egyptian Sun God, RA. You do you and it's great that you find strength and meaning in your faith but telling others that they are failing if they don't follow the same path is a bit much. Otherwise, great video!

Yea. I hear y’all. But you also have to consider reality. If I really believe what the Bible says (and I do) then what I said is exactly true. Jesus is the only sure foundation. Nothing else will suffice. In the realm of life and sports I totally agree that having your identity in other things (not faith) will help with your recovery process, but in the bigger picture of salvation, I’m sorry to say it won’t. And I’m fine with y’all unsubscribing, scripture says people won’t like to hear the truth, but the truth is what I’m preaching and I’m sticking to it. Hope y’all can hear what I’m saying without being offended. Definitely not my goal.
@graffix11us Жыл бұрын
@@DrewDillmanChannel Not mad and not unsubscribing. I get plenty of value from your insight as a coach and racer. Just a time and a place for everything.

@@DrewDillmanChannel Thanks for the clarification. I was honestly just pretty taken aback by your stance here. Given ignition coaching claims to be science-based, I was surprised to hear you pushing faith onto your viewers directly. I have zero issues with you providing content on how it is has helped YOU, and how it is a sure foundation for YOU. Anyways, not offended, just not what I was here for. Just giving some feedback from a viewer, but at the end of the day its your approach to training (recovery), your channel, and your content. Thanks again for the level response.

Don't try to impose ur religious belief on others.. I believe in Lord Krishna or Budha he is my saviour and no one can change that belief and confidence in me or in anyone. If ur Christian u follow it in your home and keep it urself afterall is all a belief.. don't try to impose it on others

I think of my faith as a treasure and if I found treasure I’m sharing it with people I love. Sorry you feel that way but if you don’t feel bold enough to share your faith then maybe your faith isn’t that real. Hope you see who Jesus really is and come to believe in him. He’s the only way to heaven.
