Astrology seems to be going through a modern day revival, intellectually... as people are moving beyond a lot of the surface level notions we initially conceived of under a materialist ontology and metaphysics. We tend to forget, that we have no idea what the fundamental nature of reality is - and that regardless of it, there is a rhythm to the universe. The celestial bodies are a the timeless tool for measuring those changes across the aeons, for understanding patterns which may otherwise remain unfathomable.

About 35 years ago, while studying the Psychology of Personality for my University degree, I started looking into Astrology - mostly to debunk it - & eventually found that it answered the question of "Where does Personality come from?" It's been called the "Owner's Manual" for the personality we have in this incarnation (the Natal Chart, that is), only it's written in a language of symbols...so once you learn this symbolic language (or find someone who knows it), you'll pretty much know how to approach & understand your Psyche. One important point to realize about the history of Astrology is that we couldn't have had a full picture of of what's really going on until the last 3 Planets were discovered, & their meanings ascertained (which took some time), & in addition, the Asteroids also carry a great deal of meaning, so it's only within the past 50 years or so that these have been studied. When you think about it, if someone has Asteroids like Pan, Bacchus, Nemesis, Hubris, Eros, etc. on an important point in the Natal Chart, those too will influence one's character & need to be interpreted. At this point, now that the calculations are easy enough to find, & most interpretations can be Googled, it's easier than ever to pursue this discipline, & seemingly more important than ever. What's ironic is that people ignore Esoteric Astrology because they think it affirms a deterministic outlook, when in fact, understanding Astrology & the future trends illustrated by Transits & Progressions gives you alternatives to the deterministic way people generally act, & offers options for decisions to make, securing true freewill. One thing that's important to remember is that Astrology is much more about the meanings & understanding of the Planets, Houses & Asteroids than about the Zodiac signs which, though meaningful, are more like fenceposts or guidelines. There's also the ability to truly know & understand others - even if you don't know their birth time, there's quite a lot you can find out about people looking at their Aspects (angles between significant points) from their birth date. Astrology is the most fulfilling endeavor I have ever encountered, & it has had such a profound influence on my life. I don't regret anything I've done in my life since I started working with it. This is a very good description of the knowledge I've discovered, far better than I would have expected...

For a good introduction, check out The Astrology Podcast's episodes on significations of houses, signs, planets, and aspects. Once you have a sense of how the language of astrology is used, diving further into the details is made easier. The Astrology Podcast is also great because they use traditional Hellenistic astrology, so all the symbolism is grounded in traditional philosophical models, rather than pieced together modern simplifications.

Finally a video that doesn't criticize astrology for being some mumbo-jumbo, and actually explains the core essence behind it. As an Astrologer, who is also very interested in metaphysics, quantum physics, history and even the pop-culture.. whenever anything happens anywhere it's my impulse to always check the astrology behind it. And everything makes so much sense logically. I once started with the more modernized version of Astrology, but then found great teachers, got their amazing books and the amount of history behind everything just blew my mind, and now I learned how connecting back to the ancient practice is so important. You literally have answers to everything. And a side note, the Age of Aquarius isn't anything fun. Because according to the thema mundi (the Natal Chart of Earth itself), Aquarius is over the 8th House of rebirth, transformation, debt and bonds. Sooo.. do with this info whatever you want. It isn't, astrologically speaking, starting until the mid 2100s or smth. Yeah, if the "Age of Aquarius" refers to all the new age stuff, then I'm not sure. They shouldn't be using the term Aquarius then. Because I'm sure the 8H isn't fun, not matter how many "futuristic" advancements we have.

As a fellow astrologer with an Aquarius stellium, I disagree. I left astrology communities because there seems to be an antagonism towards fun in these spaces. A fetish for doom and the morbid, even. We are not our birth charts, I have seen myself how people can look great on paper (the chart) and then be something else entirely in reality due to the vibrations they tune into. If an individual decides to be more pessimistic, that's a choice they made with their own free will. I have been through so much trauma, and had to do so much to heal, that I have lost compassion for people who insist pessimism is the ultimate reality. None of us know what ultimate reality is, as reality can change depending on perspective. Aquarius is about freedom and the exploration of the concept of humanity. Fun and freedom go together. Fun helps us feel human. Over the years, algorithms have been favoring white astrologers and suppressing the content of astrologers of color. The suppression of my content is one thing. The suppression of the content of astrologers of color who genuinely provided me with high quality astrology education is another. I miss them, many of us stopped posting because it was no longer worth the effort. Our economy is built to suppress fun. When humans are lacking in fun, they consume more to fill the void. This has nothing to do with astrology. Algorithms have long been known to favor outrage content. So it would make sense that the astrology content that algorithms promote, is of the variety that paints an unfun world. I've got 8th house placements - boundaries make or break it when it comes to fun. If one has no regard for boundaries with oneself or the other, it's not fun. Have the courage to communicate about boundaries, be willing to balance the ego, and there are worthwhile rewards. If your soul believes that fun is not viable on the planet, then your belief and what you do with that belief makes it so. No wonder so many astrologers think the age of Aquarius is not about fun. You are all missing out on different perspectives, because somewhere in your subconscious you seem to want a life experience devoid of fun. There are many of us on the planet who can bring more fun and joy, if we're allowed the space, freedom, and dignity to do so.

Obviously for everybody it's gonna look different, but I'm talking here about the world. The 'Thema Mundi' the world's chart, where Aquarius is over the 8H of debts, transformation and rebirth. No matter how much technologically advance we get or how much we change, there is going to be a bit of disconnect from the "self" in the "astrological" age of Aquarius. And I'm an Aquarius Moon btw

I just got a new copy of my birth certificate as well. Now I finally know what time I was born so I could do a full and accurate natal chart for myself. I have always done them for others but have never been able to do my own. If you want I will do one for you. Don't worry I don't sell them or anything. It's even in my natal chart about my pull to help others know themselves. If you didn't mention just getting your birth certificate I wouldn't have even thought of it so I guess if you decide you do let me know and we can figure out how to talk without our personal info being public. All I know is that after working with my natal chart for a few years now is that it accurately maps my life's journey so far. Mirrors it in some very astounding ways. It's been as Jung described: a very helpful psychological mirror. Much like a Myers-Briggs personality test, but with more nuance to highlight karmic difficulties to work with. I can't go as far as adding any further deeper esoterics. But as a mirror towards seeing the reflection of aspects of your life that you found difficult to see or understand the natal chart has been most useful. What I can attest to is Jung's depth practices, dreamwork, and synchronicities. Those are *very* real and do function exactly as he described. His work has been fundamentally important to my spiritual growth. Even the arrival of his work was a synchronicity in my life at a very severe shadow moment.

I believe it is healthy to recognize that astrology is very much a belief system and, like any belief system, can be used as a tool or guide but also can be a form of confirmation bias as well as a form of seeking external validation which is common amongst many individuals. However, the history, psychology, mythology, creativity, and imagination behind astrology have always fascinated me! This video is very well done.

Astrology fascinated me since I found a massive book talking about zodiac signs when i was around 13. Read it without thinking much of if and it struck me how many of things said in there, were true in real life. I dont rule my life by it or get too deep into this. I do think it can be a great tool to finding yourself in a way. Seeing more signs and connecting with the universe and yourself, your TRUE self. Finding a balance between destiny, fate and free will, will lead everyone to achieve great thing. For some it might give and idea what to do next or feeling of being sure what they are meant to do with their lives

I have muddled and folded every sense, made it right and straight, good and bad, and in the end I realised that I can not explain anymore because words end where logic begins.We all have different ideals, ideas and so on, but no one has got further than me, and I have not got further than the one before me, simply because we think the same but use different words. I discovered that our Zodiac 'blueprint' is a very real thing by way of analyzing my own birth chart and comparing it to my life and about fell out of my chair. Many of our experiences of life and our personalities are clearly mapped out in our birth chart. I am quite literally the living, breathing, walking embodiment of the Zodiac archetypes I was born under and I don't have to try, it's weird, it's just who I am.

@@denofpigs2575 Read books, apply what you learn. Study your zodiac archetypes. Learn about the houses and what they represent about life itself, the planets and the energies associated to them (and asteroids). Learn about midpoints and aspects which is essentially how all those energies affect each other Get your own chart done. Must know your date, time, place of birth. Then your chart will make sense. Barring that, find a reputable astrologer and they can do it for you.

​@@denofpigs2575 Ya try to memorize the archetypes for sure. Start with key words and matching planets with house and signs. Mars rules Aries which is the first house. Thr planets and houses are different but they mostly are used with different syntax - like houses are the way we do , planets are like aspects/parts within us, signs are like value sets, beliefs. So you could lump them all together with key words and as a goal you could try to then pull them apart. Also lump them together with there element. Aries , Leo, Sagittarius are fire signs, Taurus , Virgo, Capricorn are earth Gemini, Libra, Aquarius are air Cancer , scorpio, pisces are water Also I find the weather and season a helps with the narrative. Aries - bustin out of the seed - fiery thrown from nowhere , now here , dignity right to be here, Next Taurus , now that one is here, one finds earth a ground. Starts collecting things. Take care of and enjoy ones possessions. Gemini - once a solid ground one can be curious... What's this , what's that. Lots of info, and surface level exploration Cancer - after bopping around we might get tired , settle in , absorb and be reflective, take it in, care for ourselves... Reflect, look at the moon , Ruler of cancer Leo - flowering! Second fire. Expressive, look at all the aesthetics, the sun rules Leo, here me roar. Express and be expressed! Virgo - gotta get ready for the winter, a servant. Categorize, containers, prepare. Very earthy and structured. ... Anyway that's my approach, I like making stories and also then try to see it in art, movies, even the news - culture wars are very Uranus/aquariam traumatized by Saturn or cronos - look at gotyes Cronus eating his son artwork! but too much revolution isnt always good either - like the French or Russian Revolutions.... So I guess another step is to understand a healthy version and then too much, and not enough of that archetype. They all parts of human nature and none bad in and of themselves... However they can all be "toxic" or inappropriately manifested :0 . I imagine a centre dot for each and then a pendulum that swings and we try to enact a balanced healthy version ... But then again we see excess and too little play out all the time. See if you can spot or pick out characters in movies with archetypal behaviors. Once you get it your mind will start thinking/feeling in real time... Though it might take years! Good luck!
