i said it this way to try convey the way it's coded. the reservation itself can theoretically last forever. if the reservation cancellations never happens, you would literally have the reservation forever. the reservation itself doesn't regulate how long it lasts, the teleporter does. minor difference :)

You can also switch classes as you're teleporting. This is something you can do in MvM while a wave isn't active. Simply step on an entrance and do a frame perfect class switch before teleporting which will result in your selected class ending up on the exit. It's hard to pull off, but possible.
