One Piece world public still think Shirahoshi is more beautiful than Hancock even though she is literally another Nami clone design. She is pretty and cute, but the reason she is considered above Hancock is literally just because she is a giant in size & a mermaid so she draws more attention to herself (lol even Garp said something along those lines). Oda confirmed that the most difficult character for him to draw is Boa Hancock, her forehead and eyes especially are unique to her alone and he has an especially difficult time with her hair, so he has to take a great deal of time to draw her. Such is the most beautiful woman in the world. Also she hasn't been relevant for 7 years yet still ranked top 10 in popularity polls. Fans know what they want.

To be fair, about the whole trivia/recap things were more there as a refresher for people who might not remember it as well. Like if they don't go back & read earlier chapters or watch earlier episodes. Remember the Alabasta saga happened in the early 2000s, around 2001-2002 I think (I might be confusing the anime & manga). That's over 15 years ago. So, people forgetting, especially if they been here since the beginning or the early days, is understandable. But seriously, what lazy fuckers are skipping arcs? The only arcs that needs skipping are filler arcs.
