I love seeing the new features for the Quest, the battery one is really nice since I don't like to leave my quest charging when I'm sleeping or gone and there's times its pretty low. I hope they add a way to where it will tell you your battery no matter where its at, maybe even while charging.

I just put my quest in the box it came with, when it’s either resting, not in use, or is turned off, so I don’t really need to worry about cameras, but the microphone thing is good. I don’t need my agent knowing a suspicious amount of detail on how I like to appreciate werewolves. (Hugs and cuddles, of course, with plenty of cool photos and poses.)

It still strange that VR for normal users do not have ant functionality for April tags, even they are 2D the device/robot can see them as 3D if you can give them a standard size, that can give millimeter precision and also spatial reference orientation so a virtual room or area always align towards a prefered direction. If you look you often see those tags in professional environments, like simulated cockpits, where Boston Dynamics use their robots indoors and when some want to show of how exact hand tracking can be. VR can work without them but then with a precision that have an error margin of 5 to 10 cm.

just detect the finger mush, so that your fingers can rest on the surface without typing like a touch screen. actually just detect the finger bending while resting on the keyboard surface. ie detect the key pressing pressure. from the finger bending angle. just show visual feedback on the virtual keyboard.

Every "Pro" style of headset always ends up like a mercedes G wagon. Tries to be a tough of roader, speedy sports car and comfortable cruiser but wouldnt be considered the best in class for any of those areas. While costing more then 3 cars that could be just as good in those areas. Hopefully vr headsets can go in a direction where they try to be good in a specific area or a more modular design

So rumor is out that Meta quest 3 and future versions will allow us to control the upcoming Tesla Robot Optimus Gen 2. Apparently, we will be able to see what the robot sees and control it in vr by using hand gestures. It would be dope if we could do this. I know this Optimus robot is fully autonomous, but I would love to control it myself as well using my Mq3. Are you aware of such claims? If these are true I am so buying the Tesla Bot

I have a old IBM keyboard I found, it have a great feel, but it is not working, so it had been so cool if I could use Quest3 to type on a surface and that surface would be a keyboard that is not connected to any computer 😀

depending on the camera they're using, it could be a weird post processing effect from the camera. ive taken videos with my phone and had similar effects

That's one I haven't heard before 😂 But I can assure you, it's not. Trust me it would be a huge waste of resources and processing power to add that there and render it every video. Will look into why it appears to float from time to time though. However, watching through that timestamp on my phone it actually appears just fine.

I am using a NVIDIA Graphics card on my computer, and I had turned on a setting that automatically upscales videos while they are playing, the pattern of the cloth was messing with the upscale while I was watching it, making the logo look as if it was floating. I was only kidding my original post though! haha

I keep my Q3 off in a hard case when I'm not using it. I keep it plugged in charging while I'm using it, so at most it only ever dips to 75%, and doesn't take long to get back to 100% before I put it away. If you keep your device on a stand I suspect you also don't keep a case on your phone, and you may be a psycho. haha

I am saying do not buy the Quest 3/ Quest 3s? Got mine on the Oct. 22, 2024. Went to pair the quest 3s and my META account says that email and password do not match. So did a reset of the password. Even got a confirmation email that the password was reset. Tried again with new password, still says email address and password not accepted. So, got on a chat with one of the support members on Oct. 23 at META. So, the tech informed me that the previous headset the quest 2 has to be reset to factory setting before I could pair my quest 3s and that this was the problem. So, with the help from the tech, we reset the Quest 2 back to factory settings. But my main question is why is it, if this is such important factor then why is it not mention in the Quest 3s setup instructions? Well, the quest 2 was working fine. Until the tech instructed me to do a factory reset. Now it is not paired and does not work anymore. Well, when we tried to get quest 3s paired to the account got the same message. Email and password do not match. So was instruct by the tech to do new password reset. So did get an email confirmation of the password change. But still get the same error message about the password. So, then the tech sent it up to one of his special teams. Well got and email saying that to wait 2-24 hours, and then try to reset the password again. Well, here it is OCT. 24. So went to do a password reset. Got a confirmation email that the password had been reset. So went to log on and guess what got the same massage about the email and password do not match. So tried again think maybe I enter it wrong, no get the same error message. So started chatting with a tech again today and was informed that the tech would send this off to his special team. Got this email from the special team this afternoon Meta Store Support From: [e-mail] To: [e-mail] Thu, Oct 24 at 2:45 PM Your request, case #07468085 has been solved. To reopen this request, reply to this email. Well, it has not been fixed. Was informed by a META tech that it was being sent to a special team again and to wait 24 hours for another email. So, see 3 days and still no quest3s, and now I cannot even connect with Quest 2 thanks to the META Tech. So, then was instructed to wait for the emails from the special teams! Like the email that I received the day before and this one I received today. Hopefully this is not going to the same special team! We have already seen what their accomplishment are. Now 4 days and no Quest 3s, or not even the previously working Quest 2 now Thanks to the META tech support!

Please don't censor this post, as it's imperative that your viewers know this FACT about Meta VR devices: A cautionary tale for current and prospective Meta Quest VR headset owners (for sim'ing or gaming): I'm on day 9 of Meta holding my Quest headsets hostage. I've been using Oculus/Quest devices from the day they started making them (10 years ago?), and I have not been required to give my date of birth to Meta in all this time. But they recently demanded my DOB under threat of disabling my Quests, and they made good on that threat 9 days ago. Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and you will have no defense against it. Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.

Also, this hand control feature can't work if you don't agree to send your hand movement data to Meta. PS: Resetting the helmet doesn't help?
