Addressing the “face multiplier” adding passive misconception, if we are being extremely picky we notice single face multipliers aren’t just basic face multipliers while the ones that actually do work say they replace other *face multipliers* in their description, as well as the fact the picture of the passive shows the multiplier in the top right, leading me originally to the assumption of it being those kinds of multipliers

Some strategies goes for all 99 dice and use the yatzee multiplier. You can level up one face to 99 and then copy that face to all faces and then copy that die multiple times. Another thing people apparently goes for are the passives. They level up the shop immediately to max and tries to get good passives.
@grantdixon363 жыл бұрын
Just tried a yahtzee run, I think it’s better to have incrementer passives than to try copying 1 die, that way you can add multiple 1 dice and they turn into 99s in several rolls
@KaeraNeko3 жыл бұрын
Ayy, I got to make a cameo for a split second. That's me in 20th place on the leaderboard. A couple of the hacked scores were removed since when this video was recorded, so the last time I checked I was in 18th. I've never tried going for a weight strategy yet, so I'll have to try that out at some point. I usually just fill a die with single face multipliers so that they're always guaranteed to multiply _something._ Word of advice: Wilds and Total Roll Multipliers don't stack. It even says so in their respective descriptions, I think? Oh, and this might be kind of obvious, but there are ways to meet the conditions for a *LOT* of passive upgrades at the same time, which can end up netting you multiple trillions per roll.
@thatonegooze3 жыл бұрын
It'd be cool if you could make a video on this game showing your strat
@KaeraNeko3 жыл бұрын
@@thatonegooze I'm still learning how things work, really. The gist of my strategy is to try to only use 4 or 5 dies in total. if you have 5 or less, there's the passives that increase the value of all your dies if you have less than 6, and if you have 4 dies, you can also get the passive ability that increases the value of all dies when your total amount of dies is a square number. the drawback of stopping at 4 is that your shop isn't fully upgraded, so you're less likely to find powerful faces to use, and I'm still not entirely sure which number of dies is the optimal one. other passives that are helpful are the ones that increase the value of primes, and numbers divisible by 2 and/or 5. primes have the best score potential, and I believe 97 is the highest prime you can use, but having all numeric faces set to 80 is a good second best option since that's the highest number that's divisible by both 2 and 5. I'm still not entirely sure how this all is affected by the passive that massively increases the value of die faces below 13, but in that case 13 should be the highest prime number, and stacking that with things that increase the value of doubles, triples and yahtzees can probably end up being extremely broken as well, but I'll need to experiment more with this before I know for sure. needless to say, if you're going for a specific numeric strategy, you'll want to stay away from incrementors and passives that increment your dies, since you'll lose your bonuses. I try to stay away from them either way, since there are some passives that increase the value of all dies if no die is 99. another couple of immensely valuable dies are the total roll multipliers and previous roll multipliers. I usually try to get one previous roll multiplier on my single face multiplier dies, because those are usually the ones that generate the highest score. these stack with total roll multipliers and wilds, so if you get a x10 single face multiplier on your best numeric die, followed by a roll where both the x10 previous roll multiplier on the same die, as well as a x10 total roll multiplier land at the same time, the roll result approaches ludicrous. I'm pretty sure this can be broken even further by using void faces since they add an _additional_ multiplier on top of it all. another thing I try to do is that if there's a passive ability that's useless, but won't affect my strategy, I still buy it if I can afford it, just to have a greater chance to get different passives when I reroll the shop. I hope this made sense and is of any help. :) (I got some ideas for additional strategies to try out while writing this as well, so maybe I really should make a video on this, even though it would be a first for me :p)
@PvPsFinests3 жыл бұрын
If you look in the description of "multiplier" it is technically a face multiplier. The thing you were mistaking as a face multiplier is a "single" face multiplier. Also in the description of the multiplier it says it doesn't stack with single or multi face multipliers.

I played this game today after I saw your previous vid. It is really fun! I've 40 gotten trillion. My solution is to try to stack as many multipliers on top of each other as possible. Many passive effects give multipliers for every dice roll. I gained my biggest scores with the 'previous role time X die' (it has an arrow on it). If you put that on a die with many multiple face multipliers and add lots of passive multiplier effect you can gain insane scores! I also really enjoy adding rerolls to important dice. But for that to be usefull, you have to add a lot of bonusses on one die.

A good build you should try is do 5 buy any dice (only get the ones from shop upgrade so 5 total allowing you to make use of less than 6 dice passives), get every as many die faces to 10 as possible (stacks with multiple of 2 passives, multiple of 5 passives, no 99 passives, and less than 13 passives on top of this yahtzees are amazing), and also ignoring single face multipliers which allows you to get the passive that multiply the value of all numbers by x amount but makes non number die useless. Also you should get the reroll upgrades that add 3 rerolls to a die of your choice which then allows that die to roll 3 times for the cost of 1 roll. Also if you do try this build don't get weights because this allows you to get the no weight passive as well. You likely won't be able to get everything but this is essentially a God run. Just when you get 10 on a die early get leave that face alone and make the other faces as big as possible until you start getting some passives rolling then get the upgrade that makes every face of a die the same and those big number become the 10 that is the piggest number that works with the ×2, ×5, and >13 passives

when all his good rolls have weights on it its clearly favouring having many dices with few good faces. But its tough. also as an example lets say he has a dice full of 99's and then 9 extra dice full of ones. if you could only change 9 faces to even a 2 pip face it is still always better to put it on different dice, as the first change increases its average the most kind of. its weird and id say dont fuss too much, the game having stuff like sticky and reroll and weight makes it tough to put to peak efficiency without being as boring as molasses

Example, i had a die with 5 99s and 1 die breeder, ×2reroll on every face, and ×4 or ×5 on every 99, and then on all 4 adjacent sides i had dice with weighted faces for rerolling adjacent dice.

My understanding is that having a single face multiplier multiply a face with a multiplier already on it isn't useless. A single face multiplier ignores the multiplier on the face it applies to, but it also puts the value it gets on the die with the single face multiplier, meaning the multiplier will still apply to the face with the big number and its effects would not be negated by the single face multiplier. For example, if you had a 99 with a X10 multiplier that would be worth 990. If you had a 99 without a multiplier but also had a different face with a X10 single face multiplier, that would be worth 99 from the face + 990 from the single face multiplier. A X10 single face multiplier and a face worth 99 with a X10 multiplier would be worth 990+990. This was badly worded, but the important thing is that having a multiplier on your big number and a different single face multiplier is still good.

I can confirm that yes, the top scores all hit the integer limit, or rather the long limit.longs are stored in 4 bytes, or 32 bits, which gives them the ability to represent numbers between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647. Looking familiar? I assume that they did some trickery, storing only the first 7 digits and tacking on zeroes to the end, giving them the ability to store numbers technically too large to fit into a long. what i don't understand though is why they limited themselves to only 8 digits in the rear?! With that trick,they could increase the displayed value by over 700 million orders of magnitude. If I'm missing something totally obvious here, please let me know

Enjoying your videos. impressive games. I even ended up buying some of them on steam to play myself, and I'm now considering this one. Just a heads up though, "Dice" is the plural. You have either one "die" or many "dice". Hope to see you get another Personal Best

Glue on the lottery and/or 4 leaf clover would have been a good strat. EDIT: If you went for the +800% to the lottery stuff too, that would have been crazy powerful of a strat.

You could have used the "Set all die faces" to make your 10x multiplier dice multiply on every die roll

Just bought the game because of this video... gotta say its worth every penny. Especially if you like games that involve thinking or math, its only 5$ for alot of enjoyment 10/10 game

I wish you had weighted / put the x10 multiplier on some of the face multipliers. I definitely think that's the way to go.

So I was confused in the difference between 13:15 's result and 13:25 's result. So you start at 28 and then it goes to 1,441 so removing the previous amount gets us 1,413. The only way this number is achievable with the current rolls, 10, 17(just changed from 15), 99×10, and a x4, is if you take the numerics and add the smallest first and then take the multipliers and add them together and then multiply them with the 99 So 10+17=27 1413-27=1,386 X10+X4=X14 99 x 14 =1,386 Next it goes from 1,441 to 4,136 4,136-1,441= 2,695 To get 2,695 you have the 5 rolls of 99x10, x10, x2, x5, 18(just changed from 17), and 5. If you assume the same order as last time then you have 18+5=23 2,695-23=2,672 X10 +X2 +X5 +X10=X27 99 x27 = 2,673 1 more than it should but if we take into account the change of 18 from 17 and go down by one then its 22 for the total value of the lower faces and therefore 2,673. What I don't get is why this version applies the before incrementation number instead of the after like the previous situation. Now this makes sense if you do it another way where you separate 99x10, and 5 as their own things and consider the next highest number 17(changing to 18) as the one that will be multiplied but before it can increment. Like this. 17x2 x5 x10 =1,700 2,695-1,700=995 995=990+5 990=99x10 The fact that it resolves it self if you used a separate calculation order so as to make sense of the mis-application of the rules, is extremely worrying so much so that I begin to wonder if the results are just in and of themselves a arbitrary roll of the dice. Instead of a consistent set of rules that are followed the same way to a T no matter the situation as simple math and therefore computational logic should be.

i hope you put out some more of this game, it's pretty interesting. kinda seems an ideal game for mods.

Edit: ignore this comment, aliensrock figured it out ^^ You can turn on analytic mode in the settings, when hovering over for example a multiplier it will show you which number is being multiplied for example 71 x 4

Every time you reroll the shop, everything becomes more expensive.
@polill003 жыл бұрын
Looks like shop prices are based off of your current income, and those only reset after refreshing the shop. It might be beneficial to get the cheapest prices for the most upgrades if you fully buy out a shop.

Curious that the high scores would use integers if the developer is just going to be rounding the values instead of using n-precision floating-point numbers.

Can weights stack? Like cuz adding a weights don’t seem to always guarantee, so wasn’t sure if that would be a good investment to make sure the faces you roll are the ones you want
@grantdixon363 жыл бұрын
Weights can’t stack, but if you have a reroll passive and glue on your weighted die you will almost always hit it
@MaskMcGee3 жыл бұрын
Maybe it was a glitch, but I got my 'reduce shop prices by 80%" die with about 1400 rolls to go. You've fallen into the trap, dice values are basically worthless, the number of dies times x is killer. You want as many dice as possible.
