@temporarilyoffline4 ай бұрын
@@aarongriffin81 I never said to buy it, I just showed what it could/couldn't do. My guess is that people will buy this for an easy mobile install to learn if they like CB or not... I mention its not for beginners because the manual doesn't go into much detail. I'd expect a beginner radio to come with more of a "CB for dummies" type manual and a more advanced manual to skip the basics and talk about more technical things that an advanced audience would want to know.

@temporarilyoffline2 ай бұрын
4w gets you local area comms pretty good, and when the "skip" is running, you can make contacts all over the world. If you really want to make reliable long distance comms - a ham general license and more powerful radio make that all legal. More Power+Better Antenna=More Distance

Does anybody know if these 12V/24V radios work all over the voltage range ? And is it still usefull to feed it stable 13.8 V input voltage to get the full output power or does it stabilize it internally ? I built myself a couple of power conditioners based on boost converters to maintain 13.8V while draining the battery below 11V but the rumor is that many radios don't actually need it any more-
@temporarilyoffline4 ай бұрын
You're on the right track. I'm hoping it's buried in the manual somewhere., but this radio probably works fine at 4w output with 9v input and there is a buck converter in there somewhere. There is a hack to get 15w out of this radio, that might need more input power.

nice CB . outher reviews on that CB the EU is country code. and has tricks . must be like a dog . you can teach it to do tricks. the 24V is getting more common. some trucks over seas use 24V battery system. the US made ones use 12V and special solenoid to make 24V just to starter. many come with that AUX plug. for CB in car/truck this is most common way people use to get power to it. FCC allows FM and CTSCC and DTS on CB now. not Shure of the date. that radio sold in the UK has UK on display and is on their CB band that different. but they have the EU as well. just like different band plain in different countries for HAM bands the CB is no different. US and CANADA is the same 40 CH AM/FM/SSB . I am Shure the harmonics are very low off that. I have tested many Radioddity radios and they clean. even the QT60 I have that a 10 meter HAM radio and can do 12 meters and digital modes with Digi rig. keep scanning CH maybe you will hear big JEEM on the CB band LOL . 73's
