After 10 years of public service and on time payments, my student loans are all forgiven. My loan servicer was also Mohela, and I did not like how long I had to wait, 2 hours before speaking to someone. I'm glad that my student loans are gone and now I'm debt free. Next is Baby Step 3: Saving 3-6 months of expenses in a fully emergency fund.

Kinda agree with Ken on the New Years thing. Sometimes people say things just to say things. Same thing with "how are you?" Everyone's answer is just good or whatever.

Sometimes people do just say things to say things that's why I have no issue with them saying something different for a change no difference in saying happy new year or good morning if you don't mean either one why would if matter which one you say
@Vash610Күн бұрын
@natalieleybold3887 I just would like words to be genuine. I just say "hi" if I really don't care to know about someone's day. If I do care, I will ask, "how's your day going?" Just sick of the typically, how are you? Good. How are you? Good.

Ryan from NC call Good try George and Ken, 200% yes to boundary setting with mom But a part that was missed is with her, figuring out how to live on her income, her budget etc. She needs affordable senior housing. In my state there are decent options for this, and every town has a senior center with activities and services to help seniors. Also, healthcare will be Medicaid or an advantage plan. Many people are in moms situation, limited financially, in later years, and just live a simple lifestyle. Then Ryan can be a blessing to her on his and his wife’s terms, including her on family events or vacations, etc. But her basic lifestyle needs to be sustainable on her SS income.

I think Ken was extremely insensitive and ignorant on the call about the vasectomy. He seemed to be kind of negative about starting a family and getting pregnant in her mid 30's, and seemed skeptical about the effectiveness of the reversal. Seemed to also come across like there is some big weight on the guy having a kid at 42. Sometimes life doesn't allow you to have kids in your 20's. Just because someone isn't living the life he deems appropriate doesn't mean he should be condescending about it.
@EnginshimКүн бұрын
Reverse vasectomies have a very low success rate. Also, the guy is 42. I am 43. No way I’m having another kid, no matter how much I love my wife.
@fitandequippedКүн бұрын
Agree with your take. Life has many twists and turns and babies in your twenties isn’t guaranteed.
@danboozled17 сағат бұрын
By age 37, %2.5 of a females eggs remain. Chances of a miscarriage and complications sky rocket. Some studies show that females are becoming less fertile earlier as well. Add the reverse vasectomy aspect, that's probably less than %0.1 chance. I'm in no place to tell a person they shouldn't start a family, but setting expectations is important.
@shionajoseph324814 сағат бұрын
The fact that they’re planning on a reverse vasectomy and haven’t seen an urologist yet tells me they’re not living in reality. The chances of it working is slim and good chance they need to be saving up for IVF. I hope not for her sake but everyone I know who’s spouse had a vasectomy all had to go the IVF route
@lucasfater640910 сағат бұрын
@@Enginshimincorrect. They have about an 80-90% success rate. My dad was 39 when he had my brother and 41 when he had me. Sometimes life doesn't fit in the perfect little box that Ken tries to put people in.

In the words of the late great Bob Newhart, “STOP IT!!!” Do you want to win financially? Then knock it off with the stupid swiping. Cut up the credit card. You are swiping away your security in old age. You are swiping away your kid’s future. STOP IT.

You really have issues with the "Happy New Year" address! Counseling could help! LOL
@suzanne7225Күн бұрын
Listening to Charlene from Australia it was obvious that she has more going on than just a shopping addiction. Telling people to just stop an addiction never works. She needs some kind of counseling to find out what is beneath the surface of her problem. I have found that making small changes is easier and more often leads to big changes, rather than just trying to stop ourselves from participating in a specific, detrimental behaviour. Reading books is awesome and I have read many that have given me some great ideas, but getting to the root of a problem is usually not found in a self-help book.

Depending on inspection requirements, a $16k truck sounds like a potential nightmare in maintenance. Vehicles are very expensive these days. I'd recommend buy something older, 90's early 00's, with no bells and whistles, which means less to repair and less insurance.

Re: first caller....I kind of disagree with their comments. It could be she needs to just "grow up" but it also could be that she needs therapy and is really struggling with something. It's not as easy as "just stop" or "meal prep" for some ppl. Ijs. Her spending is just a symptom of something deeper and someone with some knowledge around trauma, addiction, coping, etc needs to speak into her. They gave good practical advice but it seems she needs something deeper than that. And saying "just stop" is kind of insensitive. But definitely good practical advice if she just needs a "shaking" / come back to earth moment.

I like to say "Happy New Year" for the month of January It is wishing the other person a blessed year. Ken Coleman sounds like a grumpy person since he doesn't want to speak a blessing over others. My suggestion is for Ken to stay in his lane. Ken can say whichever greeting his wishes. Avoid trying to tell others what to say or not say concerning this greeting. Just my 2 cents.
