That little Cletrac is a definite cutie. The roller chain idlers are an interesting idea. Cletrac also made a little baby tracked tractor. I saw one at a show and my oldest son fell in love with it and has been looking for one ever since. 🙋‍♂😉 I have been derusting various things for my wife's Jeep TJ upgrades lately using electrolysis. It would probably work very well on the lamp. You just use a little Arm & Hammer washing soda, water, a tub, some scrap steel to use as an anode and a small old school battery charger. The negative lead goes to the part to be derusted. It takes a couple of days to work if the rust is thick but it does not damage the underlying metal only the rust. I use 1/3 of a cup of washing soda for a 5 gallon pail. I like using those 5 gal plastic pails or little kids plastic swimming pools for bigger items. Best things about this method is that it is inexpensive you are derusting with sodium carbonate and the used solution is environmentally safe a win/win.

That lantern is relatively rare. I have never seen one with a top like that. If the oil tank would leak, there is a sloshing compound / tank sealer, it’s a liquid that coats the interior of the tank and seals it. That’s what a lot of the lantern collectors do. It was developed for aircraft to keep rust out of the gas.
