My ex husband from a 20 year marriage, turned out to be a serial adulterer with a double life and weird sexual behavior. I was devastated when I discovered this. My heart goes out to his wife and children. As hard as it must be to those he targeted, what he did to his wife is truly heartbreaking. Not only does she have to grieve Ravi’s death, she has to come to terms with public embarrassment, judgment of ignorant people and worst the realization of his lack of love for her. I would know, I’ve been in her shoes.

When I heard of this issue with Ravi I couldn’t believe it. I had watch so many of his videos as he preached about Christ. It rocked me to my core. But in my quiet time God showed me 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. God reminded me to only have faith in Him and not man. I have to admit that I did hold Ravi in high regards. I think this is a reminder and a good lesson for all. I pray for the victims and Ravi’s family. We all need to remember that no matter what man does, God has won the victory.

Being a role model does not mean you don't have your own struggles. this is why the ministry of deliverance is so important. This is literally why people should be discussing the HOLY SPIRIT and getting delivered. Prophetess Mattie Nottage wrote a book called Why Everyone Needs Deliverance, and this is why. There are many evangelists who go through their own struggles and there are demons that go inside to a person and cause them to commit acts against the will of God, for this purpose---to provide confusion and division in the house of the Lord.

I struggled with these same issues and trust me it didn’t take a night to get addicted it took years and neither will it take one day to stop either my brother. As men we are called to lead and porn disrupts your view of women and what I’ve noticed is that even in my normal relationships with women I would treat them different. I really don't know but maybe the following thought can help you: If you are a child of God he sees you as a fully holy person. When he looks onto you he does not see your works and your bad justice (mine is as bad as yours) but he sees Christs works and Christs justice which is perfect. So you ARE a holy person even if your works are not. Paul explains this in Romans. Having said that we must look into Romans 6,1-2: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" And then Romans 6,11: "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." This means, of course you do not have to live a good life to be saved. But now you CAN have victory over sin! Because God sees you as completely holy and justified you are already standing on the mountain which you are still trying to climb. Now you can say every time temptation comes: "I won't do this! Jesus help me. I AM holy, therefore I am dead for sin. I AM holy therefore I won't do this today." Go and read the bible instead until the temptation goes. Read it not to study commands but to bask in Gods grace, glory and perfection. Brother please study the book of Romans, it explains how to have victory over sin by Gods grace! I will pray for you and I hope my short explanation of Romans chapter 6 helpy you, because it helped me! Once you resist some weeks or months sexual temptations will fade away. @@D04137 I disagree with your comment because it is possible to stop in one night. I can testify of that. That doesn't mean that the temptations stop or that even all sexual sin stops but I have experienced deliverance from porn in one night. Praise God! The dangerous thing about what you said is that Satan can use what you said as a means of self-justification. A person may think to themselves "it is sad that I keep falling into sin, but it's not that big of a deal because I am not going to stop doing it in just one day". We both know that is not true. In Jesus, there can be real deliverance. Let us not deny the transformative power of the new birth. I love you as a fellow Christian and I believe that you have good intentions. But the most helpful way to help others with sexual sin is to not comfort them in it- whether you do it accidentally or intentionally. That is not to say that we should be harsh on a person who struggles with it, but I think it is completely unbiblical to say that it will take more than one night to overcome an addiction. I brought so many people to Ravi, convinced he was guided by the Holy Spirit....assured he was one of God's generals. I found out this devastating news just two days after I read one of Ravi's books. You know… I’ve spent years beating myself up by stepping in the church, looking around at the other man and wonder why I struggled so bad. Wondering why I couldn’t be like them. Happy, confident, doesn’t have jealousy, doesn’t anger, etc. I remember yelling in my prayers because I couldn’t understand it. I’d get angry with God and think “maybe I just wasn’t born this way”. So as I heard about Ravi, his death hurt me worse than Kobe, his words helped me through the most worse time in my life, literally helped save me through Christ, this scandal… actually made me look to the heavens and just say thank you (as odd as that sounds) gave me hope. That just maybe, just maybe, we are not all that different, and gives me hope. Hope that I can be the man and father I think I can be through Christ. Thanks for speaking on this.

Thanks for sharing your story brother. May I share a thought with you? We are all wretched in the same way. Becoming a child of God does not take away the flesh we are in. So everyone of us continues sinning even though we don't want to. But you can be aware what God is thinking when he looks onto us: "The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing." Do you understand this? When God looks on me he sees the perfect justice and holiness of Jesus. He DECIDES not to see my sin and my nature. I AM holy by the justification Jesus gave me. I am wearing HIS robe. (Zechariah Chapter 3). I AM already on the top of the mountain. Basking in this consciousness I can fight sin without own pressure. The status I have before God gives me victory over sin. The more I understand the love of God in the justification of Jesus the more my nature gets pushed in the background by the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!

Also, the verse that shakes my core is Hebrews 10:26, “For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.” We Christians are called to a higher standard. We can’t go sinning carelessly like we aren’t born again, abusing Christ’s grace as a license to sin. There no longer remains a sacrifice when we do it by choice, knowing it is wrong. People who go on willfully sinning and then say God will forgive them cause he is merciful and what not are in grave danger.

Thank you for pointing out that the majority of Godly men I the Bible were also sinners, (as we all are), and that we are ALL susceptible to evil/temptation...none of us is above falling...none of us are above being tempted. It’s very sad about Dr Ravi, but we should never put anyone in a position of savior or idol. He did an excellent job as a speaker teacher and we have learned so much from him. But he is not perfect. It’s sad for what he did for his reputation and how he hurt his family. Also imagine how heartbroken the ones he exploited must have felt. If one person was punched in the face everytime they saw Ravi and then he prayed with them and twisted their minds and then that person didn't report it, would that make them guilty of his crime or his crime against someone else? God only allows genuine Christians who have repented, turned around from their former life course and become baptized to preach the "good news of the kingdom' - Matthew 24:14 Hypocrites do not escape God's notice and their teaching is not directed by holy spirit. Jesus warned of following false prophets - those that do not teach in harmony with the bible. Same as the Pharisees of Jesus' day - they had no truth in them. Many claim to be Christian but their false religious practices expose them for what they are. Do you celebrate Christmas, Easter, Birthdays? .. do you vote for human leaders at political elections? Are you a member of any national armed forces? A 'yes' to just one of these questions proves that you are not a follower of Jesus Christ.

My heart breaks for the victims and for those who trusted in him. I served under a pastor who was like a father to me. But after a few years of leading us, we came to realize he had been manipulating the whole church, and had committed adultery and tried to justify it with the Bible. We had him removed. I'm still a follower of Jesus, the One who gave His life for me, because I know Him personally. I don't stop following Him because another man doesn't, even if it's hard and requires a long process of healing through such a difficult situation filled so many questions. And believe me it was hard, with countless moments of giving myself and the past to the Lord, asking the Lord to replace it with Himself, forgiving over and over and over again, and praying for the one who hurt me. And one of the most important things I learned through that experience is that anyone can fall if they don't abide in Christ. It doesn't matter if you're a pastor, a world reknown evangelist, or just someone in the pew. Any believer can fall, Jesus said so in John 15:1-6 '“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.' Even if men or women reject the work of the Holy Spirit in their heart, which helps them give their whole heart to God, and they try to put a on show of Christianity for the whole world, that doesn't change anything about who Christ really is. This sad story is a personal reminder to myself about my own personal nature that i must live my life in continuous confession and repentance to God daily relying in the grace and forgiveness of God. We must all learn from this to do an inventory of our Christian walk and to flee and renounce anything that is not pleasing to God. Yes i am sad i grieve for the victims and my brothers in Christ who our enemy will try to make a mockery of but to all my fellow believers stay strong look to Jesus continuing to consecrate our selves day by day until Our Savior Returs the Just Judge 🙏

I am Catholic. I respected Ravi. I loved to watch his videos and I considered him a great apologist and Christian. You are all aware of the betrayal we experienced in our Church with the sex abuse scandal, so believe me, I feel your pain because I know your pain. Maybe it will help us unite and respect one another more to recognize that in light of such scandals, maybe the rest of our differences won't seem like the big deal we often make them out to be. @@fidelfolozanoiii4499 I believe what the passage is saying is that until the end of the world, Jesus has control over everything at this moment “below” him except the father, but once death is no more and defeated, the father who gave Jesus the authority will be back in the first and front position ruling over his chosen people who have made it to heaven. In totality it’s kind of like a father who gives the car to his son to drive for his permit, god the father has given Jesus the authority to rule until the end of death, but when that time comes Jesus will go back to the passenger seat and will be 2nd in command to the father, because the father is greater than he is. Hope that makes sense, this doesn’t mean Jesus isn’t god because he is, but the rightful order is Father, Son, Holy Spirit!

It’s just that Ravi was in a position of power and influence to do it to a larger extent. The takeaway is that all Christians are like David. Even at the peak of your Christian life, you are vulnerable to the darkest of sins if you’re not careful.

One main problem is that we think Christianity is the standard for which the Bible is saying. That's not written I'm The Bible. Christianity isn't the WAY...Jesus said He is the Way. It is devastating news to anyone who listened his speech ever. He witnessed for a eternal truth but the black spot arose against his integrity has overshadowed all his testimony at once leaving many innocent persons grieved and he himself could not attain what God expected of him. But this made many believers extreme alert.
