Henri Devigne I personally worked on a dairy for a year and a half and I saw four cows (that I can remember maybe more) who went down with E. coli... It was torture to watch those cows with 104 degree fevers for weeks, they'd produce less than a gallon a day and they'd have to be sold. All of this because of the way the system works. The cows could not eat grass and only had a small area to go outside. Even that area was nothing but a field of dried manure. If all of the cows in the barn were let out into that area you could hardly see the ground! Anything around the electric fence that was green got eaten by the cows, which, of course, was not very much.

Hello B Charron, it is because by aging of cheese a potentially dangerous bacterias will die. I am a small farmer from Czech Republic. We produce cheese from goat milk and I thank God that it is legal to sell raw milk here. But still with a lot of limits. You can´t find raw milk in the store, but you can buy it only directly at farm. We don´t sell pasterized milk, only raw.
@charronfamilyconnect10 жыл бұрын
Pavel Nýdrle Thanks for your reply! I didn't know that aging cheese would make all the difference? These dangerous bacteria are simply the result of feeding the cows a rich diet of grains which is very acidic, and provides the idea environment in the cows gutt for dangerous strains of bacteria to thrive. Also I believe the cows don't get enough excercise, and are too cramped in next to other cows in doors with poor ventiliation, and this may be the cause of dangerous strains of bacteria. I am curious what you feed your cows in the Czech republic, and what you do differently to reduce the chances of these bacteria from forming? I heard a diet in mostly grass is idea.
@Antonienydrlova10 жыл бұрын
B Charron I am sorry for a wrong information. Aging of cheese will NOT kill potential bacterias. But if the cheese is older then 2 months, it is for sure bacteria free. Because if the milk would be infected, it would be visible on cheese during aging. So this is the reason, why you can buy some hard cheeses (aged more then 2 months) from unpasterised milk even in Canada or US. You are right, it is mostly a problem of diet and environment. We have only goats and they are most of the time on green grass. At night and during winter time they also have hay and crushed oats and barley. We don´t feed them with silage (fermented grass). That´s what we do to reduce bacterias. I drink raw milk everyday, our kids (1 and 3 years old) eat fresh cheese from raw milk...

Thank you Mike for raising happy cows on grass and making traditional milk the old fashioned way. About 3 years ago, I was visiting a friend in Jackson Hole. She asked me to come with her to Boise to visit her family. We were about an hour outside of Boise and all of a sudden the most disgusting, chemical mixed with I don't know what smell I have ever had the misfortune to smell came in the windows. I gagged. My friend seemed not so affected because she did the journey fairly often. 20 seconds later I saw where the smell came from.. a "dairy farm". the cows were lined up in mud facing the side of the road, their heads held in steel/aluminum structures which made it impossible for them to even move their heads side to side, let alone their bodies. The smell came from this "dairy farm". It was not poop smell. It was chemical mixed with poop. I believe it was the cows poop because of the dreadful chemical grains and hormones they are fed. I would not want to drink milk from that place. I asked my friend who is in her late 30s, ... did it smell like that when you were a little girl.. you know, 20 years ago? She said no way. It didn't smell great, but it didn't smell as it does now. Don't drink store bought milk, find a local farmer like Mike! The milk tastes delicious and it's SO good for you! Excellent video. I'm new to raw milk and have found a local farm who delivers it, and the taste is just delicious. I would never go back to the dead milk. My eyes have been opened to the corruptness in the dairy industry and so sad it's all about money. They should be ashamed of themselves. And for those who believe the mainstream narrative, well that's a shame because you're missing out on some fantastic nutrition because let's face it, we are living in a sick society with too much push onto pharmaceuticals and vaccines, and not natural immune health.

I am waiting to have the option of raw milk and then I will once again drink it. I stopped because I do not like the way the cows were being treated. You are a kind farmer. Bless you.

I started drinking raw milk a little over a year ago and it’s helped my Crohn’s disease tremendously! I used to be in pain all the time, had surgery which didn’t help, took medications that made me worse. Raw pasture raised organic milk along with cutting out bad food has basically cured me.

We're fortunate enough to live 20 minutes away from our farmer who sells raw milk, cream, and eggs 24 hours a day. There is a small mason jar on the table where you make your change using the honor system. They also sell lamb, beef, and pork, but you have to call them to come open the deep freezers. The crazy part is that the raw milk we buy is actually cheaper than buying grass fed milk from Walmart.

I grew up drinking raw milk from our dairy cows, and my children also began their lives on raw milk. Commercial milk tastes like cloudy water to be honest. One of my chores as a child was to clean the cow barn. It was clean enough that my brother and I had sleepover parties in the barns and no one ever got dirty (at least in the barn). Our cattle were all clean and well fed, both dairy and beef, and we never got sick from anything we produced.

USA highest milk ( pasteurised) consumption in the world with highest osteoporosis LOL
@rw46143 жыл бұрын
You seem to be tying the consumption of pasturised milk to the rate of osteoporosis. Clearly, you have no understanding of the scope of issues beyond the consumption of food from which osteoporosis can occur. If you're think "calcium" and "drink raw milk". Then you're totally ignoring all the facts about Americans; their poor diets and the lack of exercise.

As a Nutritionists I came across your video while doing research on choosing personally to drink raw milk.....Thank you so much for this video...you are very knowledgeable and you truly speak the truth...you clarified everything I have read already...and truly believe that the adults and children who have gotten sick on raw milk is because of where they obtained their milk from, some where along the lines someone did not care for their cow or cows correctly and caused the problem..... Before anyone drinks raw milk research should be done and know the farmer and how the cows are being cared for.....thank you again great video

good info. I heard a doctor day that drinking pasteurized milk was like drinking liquid formica.
@watchgoose8 жыл бұрын
Not. Pasteurization heats the milk BRIEFLY to a temperature designed to eliminate bad bacteria, then rapidly cooled and stored. The cream still rises to the top. This has nothing to do with homogenization.
@roberthenry9186 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately watchgoose, it's that heating of the milk that kills the essential enzymes that allow our bodies to assimilate all of the benefits and break down the lactose and casein in milk. Without those enzymes the body has to work extra hard to do this. It's no wonder there are so many people with lactose intolerance (to the sugars) and allergies with the casein (proteins) in pasteurized milk.

To watch this as a non-US resident is so whimsical. Since humans started consuming milk around 10.000 years ago, for the most part of the time until nowadays most of the people have consumed raw milk. It seems that only in the USA raw milk is worse for the health than alcoholich beverages. If you read this, it was written by a ghost. I died already as a child, since my parents always gave me raw milk from cows and sheep.

Drinking raw milk is the most singlehandedly healthiest food you can consume to better your health. It has a strong profile of all the nutrients your body needs to truly be healthy. Shame in Australia we can't purchase raw milk but the closest thing we have to it is 'cold pressed' to kill pathogens through pressure and not heat..

I think it's interesting that supermarket milk makes everyone fat, but raw organic milk does not. I started giving my dog a bowl of just regular homogenised, full cream milk from the supermarket, and it put on weight really quickly from 16 to 20kg. I stopped giving it the milk and it lost the weight. Interestingly I had heaps of raw organic milk in the spring when it was cheap, so I gave it to my dog, and it didn't put on any weight at all. I wasn't being cruel to my dog, she eats a bit of our food anyways. I definitely think processed milk causes weight gain, as in obesity. Raw organic milk does not seem to cause obesity. This should be looked into further.

@peterstone1728 жыл бұрын
***** I think all the processed milk's are as bad. They all cause me acne without fail. Milk from the farm does not! I also feel really, really tired after drinking processed milk, but I have heaps of energy after the farm milk. When you are getting milk from two cows, you know exactly what you are drinking. There is no hormones used, no artificial insemination, the milk has a taste to it, and the cows at least look healthy. They just take it to a neighbours bull every couple of years to have a calf.
@tdgreenbay8 жыл бұрын
Cally that is not necessarily true... when you take the fat out you concentrate the existing sugar... skim milk has actually the highest concentratiom of sugars than the others except chocolate milk
@peterstone1728 жыл бұрын
Cally Alvarado I'm no advocate of supermarket milk, but your statement is totally false. There is no sugar added to regular unflavoured milk. Chocolate milk, yes, but plain milk never has sugar added. It's actually not permitted to have anything added to milk, not in Australia anyway.

Raw milk should be completely legal. It should come with a warning sticker with a warning about its consumption, and should be separated from other milk in stores. It's really weird and unthinkable that in a country that claims to be "free" it is banned. And warning stickers should not be like California warning stickers which have lost all meaning. Warning stickers should carry a warning level with numbers 1-5. 5 for the highest warning and 1 for the lowest. It is time to give power back to where it belongs- the American people.
