As a child in the 80s and 90s, I played every ball sport you could imagine. Never knew about BJJ. Now as a dad of 3, none of my kids are Into the sports I was obsessed with and it kinda bothered me. 3 years ago we asked them About joining BJJ and they were hesitant but started classes. And now they are thriving in there class and a few tournaments. I love watching them learn everything this sport has to offer, especially my 10 year old daughter who can hold her own on the floor . My 7 year old son is amazing and loves every minute of BJJ!

I want to learn BJJ when I can so I can master submissions and later I hope to learn Muay Thai so I could improve on Kicking, Punching, and blocking.

I think BJJ is a great fighting style to start with.

There is nothing more valuable for a little kid than being able to get someone off of you. It can be really humiliating to be pinned down in front of your peers on the playground or wherever.

I’d suggest getting someone who is actually comfortable with a rifle and pistol to run a couple scenarios. You’ll notice that individual is probably holding onto their weapon of choice quite firmly. Love the video btw.

I don’t think Helio Gracie is the founder of jui jitsu. Maybe BJJ. Original jui jitsu originated in Japan..
@SimonBriz3 жыл бұрын
Those that have been training BJJ for a while, know it's JiuJitsu and k ow it's origen in Japan and evolution in Brazil. Thats why hey just say JiuJitsu
@gilbertborges89933 жыл бұрын
@@SimonBriz Yeah, but Bjj and jiu-jitsu from Japan are completely different. In Brazil we only say "jiu-jitsu" because it was the only one spreaded in our country's capital at that time. But the Gracie family and others figthers started to call and sell as "BJJ", so people around the world could understand that they were not teaching the "japanese one". But now even in some places here in Brazil the teachers use the term "bjj".

@@mckebb01 your argument would be sound in 1800 when flintlock rifles and cannons were the technology of the day. These days however your measly rifles would be no match for a modern day army.

I went to your school before with my friend drew from the wolves den. I was having difficulty with my training and promotions because of "statements from the inexperienced.". It took me 14 years to get my brown belt dispite I most probably had the skills many years before. I went to a gun show in florida and they were selling this divice for a AR 15 "The Bump Stock." I wrote a letter to congress and few months later it's banned. I always felt a confliction between "over reliance on fire arms." Over basic JiuJitsu systems. I also the ability and liberty to "intelligently defend yourself or others." It is unfortunate because some people are not given the choice or knowledge to intelligently defend them self's and are left "exposed," more than just physically they do not protect their thoughts or their "spirit's," basic premise of Martial Arts as a whole. I don't descus these things as I feel a pressure from political agendas more over people personal feelings on how it effects a business. The corrupt business that is lust, greed, death and lies. In this case Martial Arts for me is Endeavor, Resposablity, Respect, Truth, Trust and Perfection of Character.

Great video. When I was 20 in LA hanging out with rich kids, we would watch other young kids playing baseball. One day I yelled at the coach for being too hard on a kid, we then got in a fight. I kicked his ass, he quit. The parents asked me if I wanted to be their coach. I said 👍 ok. 😂 lol. I started to teach them by having them hit the ball on the ground like a golf ball across the field every day. The parents said what are your doing? I said teaching them to hit the ball. ( something my dad taught me with sword ) They said have you played baseball before? I said yes in 3rd grade. That's it. Do you know baseball? I said you hit the ball then run. Then we had a game. We won 8 too 0 the parents said we were thinking about firing you, but what you did worked, how and why did you think of that. I said I studied 18 years martial arts. I just taught them what I learned at young age. We never lost a game. In Beverly Hills.
