The running joke about millenials is that everyone who complains about them doesnt seem to get the age group. Millenials were born between 1981 - 1996. Which means the youngest millenial is now 25 and the oldest is 40. Half of these jokes they use just dont hit.

Today the youngest millennials are 25 turning 26 this year. And the oldest are turning 41 this year. So most millennials are in their 30s. Regardless of the age range mocking an age group for not knowing about things that are common knowledge to another age group is lazy "humor" and not very funny.

Agreed. We know what cassette tapes are, who tf Bill Clinton is, and most of us have jobs. We’re not lazy, I’ve worked since I was 15 because I had abusive parents and it was an escape/way to make money. I’m 27 now. Mocking us is ridiculous; we have had to go through so much and everyone older than us is part of the reason why. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Also the repetition of the, “squirrel,” trope is too much. That ending was not savory *at all*... Why do so many people condone abuse?!

@jazzyj7834
@jazzyj7834 3 жыл бұрын
@@174b9 ADHD is caused by a malformation in the brain during development. That's why it's classified as a "neurodevelopmental disorder". A scan of a standard brain vs ADHD brain shows visible differences. The dopamine network in the brain doesn't produce enough dopamine to communicate properly leaving the brain chronically understimulated. The brain requires a certain level of stimulus to function and focus throughout the day. To cope, the brain subconsciously creates stimulation. This is where the concept of an unruly child comes in. They are more physically active than the other children (hyperactive), or causing trouble, talking a lot, daydreaming / spacing out, fidgeting, not sleeping, etc. It's all an attempt for their brain to get the basic amount of necessary stimuli that all brains require. Growing up, this often turns into risk taking, self-medicating, and even criminal behavior to find the thrill - the stimulation - they so desperately lack. While there is a level of self-control that they should be developing (frankly more than non-ADHD people because they have to fight themselves all day everyday just to make it through a typical day), to claim a belt is the solution is about as ignorant as claiming that autism can be fixed through spanking. Stimulant medication is used to give the brain the help it needs to be at the same level as everyone else. Coffee is a natural alternative.

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, had writings documenting what by all accounts were patients who had ADHD some 2500 years ago. He called it something to the effect of "too much fire over water." He prescribed them to eat more fish and less red meat. Turns out ADHD brains need a higher than normal level of omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy diet. And nowadays we have people who don't even believe that the earth is a sphere, and that children need hit instead of being accepted as having a malformed brain that doesn't work the same as everyone else.

Dude, do you even know what age group millennials are? I'm a millennial and I'm THIRTY SIX YEARS OLD. My brother is *also* a millennial, and he's 38. Most people start remembering their memories around age 5-6, mkay? Well, I was THIRTEEN when the Bill Clinton scandal went down, and you better believe we middle school age kids with our pubertiful minds in the gutter knew what was going on. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 ... Cassette tapes...really? I was making my own mix tapes in high school. I guess he was too lazy to google our generation span. 😐😑 For the record, older generations seem to have no clue how much harder it is to get by in society when you take out a ridiculous amount in student loans, graduate college into a recession, and the job market is so competitive that a bachelor's degree is basically meaningless. We have a job. We probably actually have 2-3 jobs, with half our income going to childcare and the other half going to rent bc there's a housing crisis, with have little hope of ever owning a house, not living paycheck to paycheck, and retiring--unlike our Boomer parents who look at our generation, and unironically yell "What a bunch of entitled brats!
