Another quality video sir! An air filter system is a must have after owning a Laguna branded unit for some time. They are terrific. I have been an RZ dust mask user for years but really like the over ear straps on your brand. Will have to check it out. The smoke and carbon monoxide detector is something I hadn’t thought of. I have a gas turbine fired up in the winter and while I usually leave my garage/workshop tilt door ajar it still smells like gas after a while (maybe I need a fart zone sign hehe). Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

Oh nice! I've heard good things about those RZ masks! Yeah, i had just a carbon monoxide reader in my shop back in the day. Would have really liked to have this one, especially with the wifi connectivity. Thank you so much for watching John! Really appreciate it!

Nice topic. Since you mentioned oily rags, I'd like to suggest a metal can with a lid to hold them after use. In case the rags do spontaneously combust, they will be in an enclosed container to prevent the flames from spreading. Even safer, submerge the oily rags in water within the can so they can't combust. Cheers!
@louislandi9387 ай бұрын
Thats what I do. A fire needs oxygen and the metal can greatly reduces it. I also keep the can outside of the shop/garage.

What a great suggestion! Prevent the problem before it even occurs. That is something I've got on my "to buy" list. That would have been a great addition to add to this list. Thanks so much for the reminder and the suggestion!

I will have to check out the mask. I have a few but that one looks much more comfortable.... I'm not excited about the security camera in the shop... don't want spying eyes watching while I'm puttering and wondering what I'm doing. Same reason dad built his shop without a phone line all those years ago.... Still thanks for the Saturday video, enjoy your weekend and keep up the great content.

Haha! I never thought about that! It's funny you mentioned that because my wife saw my ipad going off when I was down there and she "logged in to see me" One feature i didn't mention in this video is you can also talke through the camera, which is exactly what she did! :). I'll put a towel over the camera when I'm in there! :)

This was a big surprise! Some interesting stuff and not too techy for most people. We’re living in a different world where one feels compelled to monitor the security in your shop for people who would steal tools. Sad, really how necessary this has become. Your shop is certainly getting some great upgrades. Well done.
@FlynndoggWoodwork7 ай бұрын
@@michaelkelley6905 I know, I think all of the theft is unfortunately a side effect of the drug use in this world. I'm much more catious than I used to be. I remember the days of leaving doors unlocked, etc. :(

Great video with nice picks! I particularly found the air filtration system with ionization and the power center interesting. One of my goals this year is better air filtration and I had not considered ionization as something to look for… but we also keep our trash can inside the garage, so sometimes there are odors. This is cool. Oh, and the camera was a good pick as well. While I was watching, I was thinking it would be nice to have two cameras, facing each other. Have one of them set up with the light and the alarm while the other just silently records and sends you the notification. That way if someone does break in, they see the one camera, and might try to disable it, while overlooking the other one that’s not bringing attention to itself.
@FlynndoggWoodwork7 ай бұрын
Oh great! That would be really nice with the garbage in the garage having that ionizer. I really like this camera so far. I may get another one in the near future and point it in the other direction. Blink makes some good cameras as well, I've had those in parts of my house before and like those (I think they are made by amazon and they work well with alexa). Thanks so much for watching as always Damon!

My shop is in half our basement and the ceiling height is only about 7 1/2 feet with exposed floor joists. I am 6'7" tall. Is there an air filtration system that doesn't have to be hung from the ceiling? Also does eye protection fog up with the mask you demonstrated?
@FlynndoggWoodwork7 ай бұрын
Both great questions. I personally don't think any of them have to be hung from the ceiling. I actually have this one permanently sitting on top of a file cabinet right now. Right next to my sanding station. Especially with your low ceilings You would be aok to have it sitting on top of something. As for the masks, that is one of the reasons I like this brand is because the exhale point on the masks really lets the air flow out so it doesn't creep up and get your goggles foggy. Great questions and thanks for watching Melandterryshu!

Dogg, man, the shop will be worthy of even more security once the lathe is set up. Also, I think you need the tshirt that has some grade 10 nuts on it with the saying, "Are you looking at my nuts?" Dogg, man, there were a lot of words in this one. Effing Burt, I'm sure he's involved. A really good feature on that camera would be a co-axially mounted .50 cal for those who'd want to mess with your tools. Good stuff, thanks.
@FlynndoggWoodwork7 ай бұрын
Haha! I wish I could make the excuse that the reason I haven't opened that lathe is because I didn't have the cameras up yet! :). I really need to get that thing up and running. Love the cameras though. Not only is it great for burglers but I caught one of my sons freinds in there and that is probably even more important. Don't want one of those little guys getting hurt.

@@FlynndoggWoodworkI agree that the cameras are a great addition for safety and security. Kids are curious cats...make sure you use all your lockouts.
