Barack Smith exactly 😂acting is just a profession. A potentially lucrative one but a profession nonetheless. When you have all the money to last you and your children several life times, why do you need to continue working anymore? Most successful actors only continue to work because they really enjoy what they do, not because they NEED to. I'm not a major fan of his work, but fair play to him bowing out when he was able to. I really can't blame him.

Myers pushed the boundaries as a comic genius but also knew of its dangers. Passionate intensity can go into berserk-rhetoric and wacko-land. He needed space from crazy making and try to find solid, safe place to feel grounded. His fatherhood provided him with the unconditional love and devotion he had need of.

They will put so much time, energy, and effort into it. It turns out to be a massive failure and they stop acting? It happened to Myers with Love Guru. John Travolta with... Battlefield Earth??? No, not a disappointment at all. Mike Myers is one of the greatest comedians ever. He's got his millions and probably just decided to take some time away from the Hollyweird scene to spend time with his family.

You know being wealthy and not having to work and instead working on your hobbies doesn't really qualify as a "reason why Hollywood stopped casting." That's a reason why the actor isn't looking to be cast.

I thought Myers work in 54 was great! I thought he played that part amazingly well. Loved the first Austin Powers. I've never been big on sequels and AP2 and 3 just re-hashed the same old jokes but the characters he created and played were great. He's contributed to the movie world, came up with some of the funniest SNL skits, and gave us so much...hell, let him kick back and spend his fortune doing what he loves. He deserves it!

Mike said that the studio execs kept trying to tell him what was funny, and wanted him to change his scripts. He fought to control his own art, leading to rumors of him being “difficult” to work with. He wanted a deal like Tarantino has, basically “leave me alone, and trust me to make my movie”.

The love guru was actually a really good movie. Try watching it with no expectations. Most movies that are actually really good, are movies that you don't expect to be a certain way. Its why some people didn't like suicide squad or dawn of justice league. They expected a fast-paced hero movie like what marvel releases; instead they got a gritty drama filled movie with a lot of introduction and build-up with not as much action. Thus is the way with all movies. Hollywood isn't ruining movies. The expectations snd pompous attitudes of the viewers are ruining movies. Its like with hard video games, if you don't like a game cuz its hard or something, don't blame the game. Blame the player.

What i liked about Mike Meyers is that his comedy wasn't political. I am not looking forward to a Wayne's World 3 because look at Bill & Ted 3, WW3 would have to be written VERY carefully not to bomb. And yes, i agree, SNL hasn't been the same without him. SNL is now a political sniping platform and i think for THAt very reason, he wouldn't go back if he was offered large sums of money. And the Love Guru wasn't his only bomb but he's had more hits than bombs so that's a good score count. But, being his age, trying to be the same kind of actor he was before would seem more like Jackass. I don't think he's coming back and, if he does and it bombs, he will be gone for good other than voice-overs.
