In the very early 60’s i was about 7 years old i was with my mom in downtown Los Angeles, there was a street preacher yelling out bible verses and talking about Jesus, my mom was very quiet and watching him for quite some time, I asked her what was so interesting, she looked at me with a sad expression and said he speaks the truth but nobody’s listening.

Funny how people say they are offended when all they have to do is walk away and go about their business. Nobody forces them to listen, and then say they'rs being offended. The reason is obvious; the gospel makes them sense their own coming death and judgement, and they don't want to accept it. So they try to silence those who proclaim it. They are Satan's puppets.

What's even more amazing is how offended they get when told they will go to he** if they do not repent and follow Jesus -- when they think he** and Jesus are both fiction. I haven't ever open-air preached, but I do dialogue with people at the local pub. Two men and I have regular, ongoing conversations about their views which are mostly atheistic and agnostic and the message of the Gospel. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to speak to them, and by God's grace I pray that they both will hear the Good News that is in our discussions, repent, and come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. In a way, I guess is it somewhat similar to open-air preaching.... several of the other patrons listen in and occasionally nod during the talks. Even the bartender has chimed in on occasion, "That's a good point". It helps people to see Christians as just regular people, sinners all, and not some high and mighty "Thou shalt burn in Hell!" fire and brimstone preachers. Not all are called to preach: some of us are just called to be witnesses in our lives and our speech. Don't feel ashamed if you, like me, are not gifted with being able to stand up in front of a large crowd. Just talk to the people around you. Keep your words pure and filled with life and grace. Warn them when warning is needed. Raise topics that demand hard thought, such as how do we answer the problems of evil, what is the source of hope and justice for people who are oppressed in this life, and so on. This kind of talk causes people to think about their belief system as more than just scientific facts and gets to the root questions of what it means to be a human being, and the fact that we are indeed a fallen, sinful people in need of someone to save us.

I'm sure there are many more similar verses but it hit me like a rock because I always thought that primary task of the church, is to protect the word of God...neither God nor His word needs protection, it needs to be fearlessly proclaimed! We need men of courage to speak forth the Word of God everywhere. @@scotthutchens1556 Hi Scott Galatia is modern day Turkey. Interestingly, Paul warns the church in Galatian ( modern day Turkey)not to believe any new gospel even if an ANGEL brought it. That is why knowing where and who Paul wrote to is important. One problem is the idea of “planting a seed”. The problem is that when it comes to religion and the supernatural, that seed is entirely bogus. It’s not “truthful”. It’s just someone’s imagination and something to help them feel better about themselves or the real world. In other words it’s False without any supporting evidence. Just because a person can imagine something doesn’t make that something true. Take for example purple unicorns. So the real issue here is that this guy and others like him are promoting not just false but untestable ideas. And one could rightly characterize such people as charlatans and their motives is power (over others) or wealth or both.

That’s not every street preacher I’m sure but that’s the vibe I get from a lot of them (particularly those in the West) who are confrontational in their approach. I take more seriously the Christian who witnesses to others by actually living out their faith and lead a humble and “quiet life” than those who stand on a stool shouting through a megaphone. Some may come across the latter and find deliverance, but for many, that’s all they’ll see.

I have yet to see anyone check their beliefs at the door. Atheism is a faith as well as the fact that secular humanism was determined by a judge in the 80’s to be a religion.

@3:47-3:52. I don't think John Nelson had "Star Trek" in mind when he was hit by a rock The Star Trek franchise has always put forward secular humanist ideas, promoting godless evolution and even more recently a pro LGBTQT+ agenda Gene Roddenberry was either a agnostic or a outright atheist,many ST episodes attacked religion or god like characters (IIRC, only "Bread and Circuses "

To continue my comment IIRC,only the original series episode "Bread and Circuses "had a sorta thinly veiled support for Christianity (about a alien earth like planet that had a 20th century Roman empire with Christianity spreading in it) Later episodes of the Star Trek franchise envisioned a near future earth with all religions mixed together (like the Coexist logo),and a far future where almost everyone is a atheist, trusting in science and human and aliens together solving problems without God IIRC also Gene Roddenberry the creator of Star Trek wanted to make a story about the crew of Enterprise killing God

The shooter incident reminded me of Pastor John Hagee's case, a madman went into the church and shot him. Thank God for that miracle!! Stay safe peeps.

I SLIGHTLY disagree, but for a different reason. Open-air evangelism is a great way to get the gospel out in spite of its risks. Many, if not most of the street preachers I have encountered, do not have a home church. God spoke to me directly about this, " not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching " Heb.10:25. If and when someone does accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior, that person needs to be nourished and discipled where they can grow in the Lord. By the same token, the Lord always tells me to pray for open-air evangelists as I see them for clarity, wisdom and protection as they share the gospel to others.

It is always surprising to me how much anger is shown. Anger toward the person who is delivering a message that has eternal consequences. These folks do not think. I wonder if they wonder why would a person risk the abuse that is heaped on him. If they disagree why would they just not wander off. I tell you why, satan is at work.

Let us not be fooled! We do not want to be one of those who will be turned away on that day when men stand before God. The way is narrow, and the road is straight, and FEW be that find it. Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Verse 22 MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Verse 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it. Our sin has set us all on the road to hell and no amount of good will fix the sin we have done. We have ALL sinned. It is not about the type of sin or how much sin. It is about the fact that we have all sinned. For that reason we all need a Savior. If we want forgiveness for our sin and peace with God. If we want to escape eternal hell. If we want to go to heaven we must understand the following. We DO NOT get saved (go to heaven), get right with God, forgiven, by being good, by being religious, by just believing in God, by praying a prayer, being baptized, asking or accepting Jesus into our hearts, accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, confessing our sins, joining a church, cleaning up our lives, doing penance, taking the bread and the wine, or doing all these things accumulative. Salvation takes repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:21. testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Make no mistake. We cannot be a friend of Christ and remain a rebel against God. The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction. God is not receiving those who almost or kind of repents. It is like the word About-face which is a 180 degree turn. We turn from not wanting God fully in our lives to willfully surrendering to Him to lead our lives. When any person comes to the place where they are broken over their sin toward God to the point that they want to get right with God no matter what it will cost them they are in a state/spirit of repentance toward God. Luke 14:33 Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. We then take that heart we have towards God and place it on the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Master and that becomes faith. At that moment God’s grace through Christ is freely applied to us and we are born again, saved from eternal hell and sealed by the Spirit so that we will never again return to the practice of sinning. Eph. 2:8,9, 1John 3:9,10. Our first command after salvation is to be baptized. Repentance of sin is the result of the new birth/salvation and will be part of the sanctification process and our new life with the Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 2:10. While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will never again be our practice 2Cor. 5:17, 1John 3:9,10. John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. REV. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Ruben Israel Chavez faced a lot of backlash for preaching God's word on the streets and rebuking the wicked ones, dud that guy made me laugh, he was so bold that he wasn't afraid of any persecution, and the funny part is that he wasn't even shaken by anything. Rich Penkoski joined him for a few years and got the same backlash Ruben did. The other street preachers didn't like Ruben, and tried to poison Rich's mind against him, Rich enjoyed brotherhood in Christ with Ruben, then after Ruben died of kidney failure, all those who secretly hated him started slandering him and calling him a railer and tried to kill his name, it was hard on Rich because Ruben was his closest Brother he could ever have.

The gospel is offensive on its own. Unnecessary offense is not needed and is sin. God's arm is not too short to save. A preacher that is antagonistic can't honestly claim it was the message, but rather it was what was tacked onto the message by the messenger. There is no honest claim of "they just didn't receive the gospel" in those cases. Love may be redefined (attempted redefinition) by one group to mean don't tell me I am wrong, make me feel uncomfortable, or anything else I don't want to hear. Yet, many who hyperfocus on that OVER the actual gospel or the souls we should love actually, and hypocritically do the very same thing. They are annoyed, tired of seeing news broadcasts of this or that culture war issue, etc and instead of just preaching the gospel, they seek to win. In those cases, it isn't only the person walking away from the messenger that is like the rich young ruler, it is the messenger. Jesus wasn't snarky, haughty, didn't try for zingers, and never manipulated or used strawman or any other deceit and wasn't a showboat. I've seen many preachers that are. Quick to defend themselves arrogantly, angrily, and selfishly but slow to defend others (and that does not include virtue signalling and buying favor). "well... you're wrong" p.s. these rockstars are certainly liked by many

Are serious?? Or are you joking. Preaching is how the gospel was spread and is the main way it is to be spread. Jesus' ministry began with preaching. Matthew 4:17 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Many unbelievers wont hear the gospel unless they are preached to. Peter after pentecost preached in the streets, read the book of Acts the apostles went around preaching the gospel in many cities. 1 Corinthians 1:21 'For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.' Please, separate your distaste of certain street preachers from street preaching itself. John the baptist was a preacher in the wilderness, many of the prophets of old were preachers. Many of the well known men of God. Spurgeon, Wesley etc. Social media helps spread the gospel, but some people need to be told face to face and in person. Romans 10:14 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

@@benj0063 So you enjoy people screaming at you that you are immoral?
@benj0063 Жыл бұрын
@@TboneWTFDo I enjoy being called immoral, no. Why? Because im not immoral I live by faith in Jesus Christ led by his Spirit and his word. Some people need to hear the truth, some genuinly think that the way they live is good and moral when its not, especially in this generation in comparison to prior generations. Many really dont know the difference. We are commanded to preach the gospel(that Jesus Christ was crucified for us, Died on the cross bearing all sin, was buried and 3 days and 3 nights later he rose again all according to scripture) and to tell people to repent and believe in him and to turn to God for salvation.
