I suspect Prince was the kind of guy who could do just about anything he put his mind to, no matter how far-fetched.

I had never questioned it, but its awesome to have multiple sources confirm that, Prince, did indeed have game. Even in heels. What a legend.

Narada is one of the 80s producers that doesn’t get the proper respect he deserves. Jam & Lewis and Badyface may have dominated the charts but he did well on his.

Narada came before those guys. We didnt focus on the guys behind the scene back then. I was a DJ and we didnt matter then either.

@@sirisongbird Narada was working earlier as a session musician before J&L, LA&Face, but they became producers and writers within years of each other, 83-86.

I could listen to Narada talk about music all day! one of the highlights of my life was to hear you interview him live at Sundance early this year and hear his stories about Aretha, Whitney, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and George Michael. Such an AMAZING Guy! I look forward to more of your recorded interviews with this humble musical genius!

he was a great basketball player. I actually met him once in Minneapolis at Cheapo, and I forgot how short he was, and how non-descript he could be.
@tradetraveldanceandoccasio51735 ай бұрын
I met him in a club in Minneapolis in 1989. I thought it was a look alike, but it was him. I shook his hand and told him how great he was; he simply smiled and nodded. Because I had blurted out his name, other people in the club came over and started saying hello to him. I had blown his cover. A local person told me that Prince sightings were common in Minneapolis. He still frequented the Pacific Club, where we were that night and the First Ave. Club.

I can remember the summer of 85' staying with my grandparents at the lake and my 3rd cousin and I listened to "from Around the World in a Day" all summer long. Raspberry Berer was the big song from that album. She was a little punk back then and I was a typical 14 yr old with a mullet and a little rebel in me. We spent the summer swimming at the lake and watching Nightmare on Elm Street a few times together. We both were into those cheesy horror films of the 80's. I had of course watched Purple Rain and slow skated to that song many times but hadn't really gotten into any of his music. Being a rebel at that time I was listening to Ratt and especially Van Halen when Sammy had joined the group. I was into lots of hair metal. Nobody whom I hung with was listening to Prince. I couldn't help but get into the album because that's all she played. Such a great summer with her. Great interview, this just made me smile and took me back to the summer of 85'.

I've been dying for you to do a story on Prince! Thank you, not the kind of story I expected, but I appreciate it, non the less! 👍

In addition to his music Prince did the same thing little Black boys did going up in the “hood” during the 1970’s: roller skate and play basketball. He was great at all of them. I didn’t play music and I was mediocre at best in basketball and roller skating. I really appreciate just how special Prince was-truly one of a kind. Wow!

We visited Sunset Studios on a tour and played basketball in the same courtyard! Legend! According to an engineer if you listen to the Toto IV album you can actually hear the basketball hoop clanking in the background as someone was balling outside as they were recording the album!
