Lived in my car all last year in Los Angeles, exactly two months after I graduated magna cum laude. I worked full-time and showered at gym, eventually saving for a studio. Not a glamorous life at all as many on KZbin portray it to be. In fact it's incredibly dangerous most of the time, and very isolated. Unfortunately many of the other mobile homeless I met have few options to change the situation as they are disable, elderly or afflicted by something locking them into this awful life. And if you become sick, good luck riding it out in a car. Or you need to take a shit at 3:00 AM. Great video.

I've wondered that too. What if someone had a week bladder. Has to go 2/3 times a night to the bathroom. Thats my biggest set back to starting this life style.

I'm a 67 year old retired woman veteran who moved out into her car by CHOICE! I don't miss paying $1700 a month for rent utilities, wifi. Dang dude, you should wear a lanyard around your neck with a key and one for your mask. I am HAPPY. Very content with this new way of life (nearly 4 months now!).

Dude, my key is on a green lanyard and every single day I still lose it and have to tear the vehicle apart to find it, i feel your pain! 😂. What alot of people don't mention in car life is just how quickly your car can go from spotless to a hurricane. I can show my car all neat and cool looking like most people do in their videos but in reality 99 percent of the time it doesnt look like that, it's a mess lol

Here’s a tip. If you return to the same area for several nights be sure to not park exactly in the same spot. Why? Because cops and security personnel will think that the vehicle is abandoned or left. Stolen vehicles are often dumped near businesses. By moving the car’s spot, the night shift, who has no clue you were out and about, will realize that someone is actively connected to the car. :)

We all want our freedom back and this is a way to get it. I fear that this is going to permanent for millions as the economy suffers from COVID and all the gov abuse of people just trying to work and live in the name of our Health and wellness lol. Like everything in life, I'm not under any delusions about living in a car. It's different for everyone. I myself want to live in a vehicle, basically because I cannot afford to live anywhere. I'm also sick of it. I know that living in a vehicle has its challenges and downsides. I'm grateful to see people being upfront and honest. I don't want us to have an illusion like it's a glamorous life. It's not.

I liked it but didn't have a car. Worked at a c-store $4.25 hour . Back then we didn't know about inverters, nobody had cellphone. There were car phones but only rich people had that. Living this kind of lifestyle is 90% mental and 10% circumstance. When I was deployed to Iraq, we would shit in cans and burn it till it's ash with jp8 jet fuel. Pissed in rivers , shit in holes in the ground, slept on top of buildings and showered with baby wipes. It's all a mental game. I'm out of the service and 40 years old now with a family and a house but still do this lifestyle on the weekends. The 10% circumstance is health , family, or weather. The other 90% is convincing yourself you can do it and it's possible. The ability to Adapt to your circumstances and problems. Being an introvert and hate being around people and want to be in nature helps a little too lol.

But where do you charge your Jackery, and can you hook up a little refrigerator on the Jackery? Is your dog a Golden? They're the best! And you couldn't find your key--when I take off in my "Hotel Camry" this coming May, I plan to wear my spare key on a lanyard around my neck, so I'll always have my key available.

Great job showing the less than glamorous realities of car camping/dwelling. Have you had a knock on the window yet? I did, in a Planet Fitness parking lot. lol. It really startled me, but I just went on down the road and found a Hotel parking lot, and successfully slept the rest of the night. Just a little tip: Get yourself a spray bottle and fill it with 50/50 water and vinegar, and then you can just spray and disinfect your dishes all in one fell swoop. Be safe and keep the videos coming. 😊

Thanks, Jo Ann! I haven’t had a knock but have been told to leave (I could see them coming before the knock lol) it’s never fun but mostly they have been nice about it. Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to give that a try!

This video is exactly what I've been looking for.Simple survival with the necessities of equipment like the jackery,hotplate,workstation an the love an care of your beautiful pup.I crave this life by choice an I'm starting this year in July. THIS VIDEO is everything.I subscribe to see your life day to day just maintaining your money without slaving an paying unnecessary Bill's from living in the sticks and bricks.I will own a porta potty though.Be safe out there.

Do you leave the windows down at night for ventilation? I'd like to make some fitted window coverings but I worry about fresh air getting in. I use black out curtains now but they're kind of a pain to put up.

Yeah bringing mo problems to contend with...not helpful and defeating. I know. People mind yo business unless u r gonna not judge..be helpful otherwise live and Let live. Ya know. I know those feelings u speak of..sorry...been there many times. This too shall pass amd try try try to keep ur mind and heart on whatever it is that brings u peace. Minute by minute is the only way i can get thru being on earth sometimes as it can be more than i can bear...then hour by hour. I wish u better days and peace within. I care

I must ask, how do charge things in the car? Do you have WiFi? Where do you put your dogs food and drink?
@TravTravels

For wifi - I have a Verizon Jetpack hotspot where I have 15gb of high speed data and I use my iPhone's hotspot with unlimited data. For power - When I'm driving down the road, I have a splitter adapter that will charge multiple devices from the cigarette lighter and also my jeep has a built in 120v outlet. Otherwise I was using a Jackery 100W portable solar panel with a rechargeable battery supply (see links in the description). Honestly, it was a challenge with places I'd go inside to charge closing up. So ended up finding a coworking space that was still open which ended up working great. Here's a link to a video showing that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3XRhaSfjdaJjtE
