michaela Hass I agree Gabriel is a class act. However if you take into account the amount of KZbin travel channels of men in their late 40’s, 50’s and older Gabriel has done extremely well and has earned his great reputation. The most popular travel channels tend to be much younger and it’s all about the flash for attention not really great honest content IMO. All the best and stay safe!

As an an example. We have a lot of guest workers from the Western Balkans in Austria who visit their homeland every summer. Up to a week ago, a COVID19 test was enough for the return trip to Austria. As of this week, an additional quarantine of 14 days is mandatory!

I love traveling but I decided not until the pandemic under control because: - limited countries I can visit (I am from the Philippines). - negative PCR/swab test result is required for me to leave the Philippines. The test costs $100 or more. - also, a flight ticket going back home is required. - I travel on a budget. Can't afford to get stuck outside my home country. - high possibility that not everything is open in my desired destination.

Even in the Philippines they are coming down hard on their own country's poor. Also, the other day they announced that people coming and going out of Cebu will soon have to do their transactions cashless(Phils a big cash country) notifying where you are going and for how long. Then you have to wear a bracelet on your arm so they can track you if they want. That is a complete massive change for your country.

There are no cross-the-board right answers. You were fortunate to have left the US when you did and now you get to contribute to the livelihoods of people in the places where you go. I'm in Canada and not feeling it's the right time for me to travel so I spend more money on take out from my favorite restaurants and help support them in my way. Yes, we'll get through this. I'm glad you turned comments back on so that you can see the support from many of us and not let the others get to you. They will always be there and if you can let it go, they will only hurt themselves and others who are like them. Do what's right for you and be well.

Great points well made. The Croatian islands are very quiet out of season, very few non-tourism jobs , they are hoping the few tourists this season will pay for the winter. My stepson in Hvar town who works on a tourist boat has had to take a big pay cut compared with last season.

Your story telling comes to the main conclusion that many countries relies mainly on tourism as its their main source of income and so it's better to keep a balance with taking safety precautions because staying in home is not the solutions.

Hi being following your video and it is now Jan 2021 and the Pandemic since then has gone through 3 round of lockdown and every time it is bad we were clueless and it is very demoralizing but when I look at your video I told myself that hey we are not clueless it is not hopeless there are people like you who provide relief and positivity and you are putting yourself at risk unselfishly. so happy that you are visiting my coutry! :)) Croatia is a good country to be stuck in,I suggest south of Croatia-called Dalmacija. Turist season is until October,and prices are ok. We had a lockdown for a month because country depends on tourism as you said ,so I don't think it s gonna be any more closing. I see you are going to the islands ,I suggest island VIS and Brač,beautiful places.

Good advice but things can change quickly. UK government advised travellers it was safe to visit Spain, today due to spike all those Brits in Spain will need to isolate for two weeks on return!

Latvia just opened its borders to travelers from the UK with no 14 day self isolation. When you were in London you could not travel there but could now. I have a Latvian passport and plan to Riga from the USA after August 15, when Turkish Airlines resumes flights there. As a citizen they will let me in and the worst case scenario is I will have a 14 day self isolation if they get more restrictive.

I have to admit im envious of your situation, and happy to live vicariously through your videos. Its a real sh$tshow here in the US, so your situation is definitely much better over there. (Maybe at least wait til after the election for all the politicized crap to stop.) And you're one of the best travel vloggers, i think and ive tried watching many. UK holidaymakers to Spain have suddenly been told to quarantine for 14 days on their return. No warning was given.

It seems wrong to enforce that for people who left before the rules changed, but it illustrates one of the risks of traveling right now. They could at least give people a window of five days or so to get back home. People will miss work and important appointments, etc. I read an article of someone saying they will miss a wedding they planned to go to because they'll have to quarantine. The outbreak in Spain isn't that widespread, seems like the UK is overreacting.

It’s difficult. I travelled to Italy from the UK a few days ago for a first trip since December. On the other hand, suddenly now people returning from Spain have to self isolate for 14 days due to the flare up in Catalonia. Definitely risks involved and you just have to personally decide whether it’s worth it while complying with all the rules and regulations. You’re lucky to have a Canadian passport in this time as well given what’s happening in the US. All the best and enjoy your time in Europe & wherever else you end up - looking forward to the upcoming videos.

Good point about not taking a vacation right now if you need to be home on a certain date. I would like to head out for a few months but it seems like a very hard time to travel alone. A lot of the opportunity to meet fellow travelers won't exist. Staying mainly in the hotel which I can imagine myself doing isn't much different than not traveling at all.
