@Delphinium Flower The Bible and mythology are the same thing. They reflect our inner psychological selves through metaphors told as myths. It's the result of thousands of years of discussing the merits of these stories, their meaning and how they should impact our lives. It's our history, our evolution. The end result of that mythology is our survival. I wouldn't call that a dubious result.

I know a little about PTSD. I have had it since I left Vietnam July of 1969. It took another 25 years before I came out of denial about it. Could not trust the VA. Went to a clinical psychologist. Learned to avoid the triggers or at least to not over react. Avoided drugs and just drank a beer or 2 with buddies. I decided to make the condition work for me. I studied. Still do. Love Simon Sinek , Chris Duane and Jeff Lawton, Michael Reynolds and Dr.JB Peterson. Awesome fellows , Gentlemen All. They are not afraid. They love Truth for the beauty in it. High value Men. First and foremost Thank You for your service and sacrifice to our country. Concerning Dr Jordan Peterson as a man of God, I'd be careful about that. While he doesn't seem to have anything against Christianity, and no doubt he's done alot of good for those who haven't come to faith, his theories on faith are still based on evolution. And so while what he's saying might agree with God's teaching, his reasoning still points to evolution as the source, and if you listen for long enough a person could get indoctrinated into evolutionary thinking while barely being aware of it.

@@jeffreymedeiros6253 Just picking up on something you said about plumbers in Germany... and "beta males" in Germany... If a significant portion of those plumbers (or any other trade) are composed of "beta males", then they have less drive to make it to the top, by working massive hours. Thus, it TAKES more of them to accomplish the same amount of work. BTW, I'm not criticizing "beta males" in ANY way. It seems to me that one definition of "beta male" is a man who does ENOUGH to satisfy his own needs... but does NOT have the "drive to succeed" (also known as AMBITION) which so many people characterize as being an "alpha male".

4:52 Yes. This was always my issue. My basic, foundational dreams, desires and interests have always been at such odds with the popular ones, that to "get along," I would need to just embrace self-loathing and become what I hate. I'm not willing to do that, as long as there's any other viable alternative. Learning to smile, however, learning to talk politely and work together with others, and treat others morally... All of that *was* desirable, so my current job is pretty basic and anti-social, but the people at work enjoy seeing me in the halls. They have nothing to talk to me about, but I make myself a good workplace decoration, while, of course, doing my job. Often, that's enough.

The genius in his lectures is that he astutely articulates into precise words, the exact feelings and responses you've experienced. He then categorizes them in a sequential and logical manner to understand it more clearly ie., from the outside looking in. This acknowledgement alone can set a person free, someone 'out there' finally gets it and most importantly, gets you. You're not alone.

The Red Queen (Looking Glass) has been confused with the Queen of Hearts (Wonderland) and they are quite different! The Queen Hearts as Lewis wrote her and commented on her " I pictured to myself the Queen of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion - a blind and aimless Fury...The Red Queen I pictured as a Fury, but of another type; her passion must be cold and calm - she must be formal and strict, yet not unkindly; pedantic to the 10th degree, the concentrated essence of all governesses!" As an example - take Princess Diana as the Queen Hearts and Theresa May as the Red Queen. The unmentioned White Queen is even more significant in today's climate - she turns into a sheep!

What is a possible consequence, being outcast of the herd, close to death sentence in the wild.. Morals have biological and evolutionary root. They were not invented by religion or homo sapiens.

Its so interesting to be learning ecology and this springs up in my textbook. And it was only months ago that I heard of this by JP first. Evolutionary arms race- or 'red queen theory/ hypothesis' - “we have to run as fast as we can to stay in the same place”. So this is why all species are different and have adaptations to avoid being eaten/ dying/ or essentially being 'outdone' by better competing species. What he says has thought and meaning behind it. Don't take what he says for granted- it might help you- even if its 1% at that time.

Even though he knew it could help him... It's tragic. He would rather stay adrift in chaos than accept something negative and specific that could give him a framework--a roadmap to improve his life . . . He grew up without a father. I wonder how related these two things are.

For some, they were conceived in that discription of chaos, and they were still born somehow. Those people are the ones who we find to be particularly weird because, they experience life as if they are fully capable of anything, (others see it as a light) and a person who walks around with that potential is percieved as a unstable force of destruction. We think that because, we see that if we ourselves carried that Spirit of capability then, we would fall to ruin trying to maintain the boundaries between what we understand as real, and what we perceive as real in our mind. Follow me so far?

Though his point is accurate, the quote 'In my kingdom, you have to run as fast as you can just to stay in the same place,' is from Through the Looking Glass. Alice in Wonderland, the book where Alice goes down the rabbit hole, plays with reality in terms of size i.e. Alice is constantly growing larger and smaller. Through the Looking Glass, wherein Alice quite literally steps through a looking glass into a reflection of the world, plays with reality in terms of reflection i.e. you have to run as fast as you can just to stay in the same place, the chess board that was in the room is reflected, but the chess-people are alive, including the red and white queens.

Dynamics DEMANDS that we fail in order to perpetuate the evolutionary process. Challenging tradition is hardwired into us but our fear of change and creating discomfort conflicts with our nature. We pray to the keeper of knowledge and the deliverer of constants. Physics is what we observe but change is what physics seeks for the good and betterment of all. In the midst of this we seek value and purpose endorsed by acceptance from our 'learned' peers. This period is a self leveling passage as we search for malignant growths. Cutting them out takes deep consideration, courage and action. Thanks for yet another great journey of the mind.

From what I gathered, people naturally have characteristical inclination which when faced or encountered by certain types of experiences or a variety of them the perception often alters and changes but mostly its dependant on what direction their analytical aspects take when these experiences happens to them adding to their pre residing inclinations. De stabilizing and bringing any clarity beyond their normal reach isn't easy on personal terms. When we speak of culture, the very grounding in which a culture is based upon already sets up an alternate possibility of indoctrination because of it. Because all our reasoning has and will always be confined to the structures we inhabit. Once in a while due to all layers of ice breaking, somebody notices this and finally attempts to take measures to liberate from this direction by bringing another construct based structure which sets a newer binding and limitation all by itself since its really not possible to produce a framework that isn't already existing, the only framework that can be produced into functionable acceptence can either be a dis-aligned one or an aligned one. mean, in the end what decides the quality of individual life is their existence. Its not societal at that point. It infiltrates on a subjective scale. Not just resentment or resistence, even suffering and frustration in many level. Whats the point of a socialising that demands too much and doesn't improvement the quality of individual life? The idea is too miserable. I only become a patriot on certain aspects that concerns about human beings. Not like bashing the other party but simply saying that their idea of total freedom not only produces a newer binding or chain but also affects everyone around indirectly due to its distorted ideology and tendencies that are associated with it Funny, now that you mention maths, there is this uncle of mine, great maths teacher but due to financial conditions, couldn't take the flight, so not a pro. From what I have observed, mathematicians seem to be able to take charge and handle most of their situations themselves because of the area they specialize on. We know maths is an underlying substrate to access reality hence it infiltrates any and every field due to its abstractions. Its just that due to the current educational system, it became too materialistically oriented. If consciousness is oriented, then the abstractions and derivatives could combine and join all fields underlyingly. It leads to creativity. While normal math helps with fixing convenience, the abstract math enhances life. I mean, even if you specialize at one or two fields, the contents and understanding involved and incorporated with it should help in handling all the other aspects of life, including emotions, characteristics, behaviors with community, mental and physical handling etc. Thats where we go straight for the source which is spirituality. You would think indian classical dance or singing or designing mostly the feminine specialize on have existantial relevence, very intense mathmatics and creativity

Not to nitpick, but the Red Queen isn't in Alice in Wonderland. That's the Queen of Hearts. The Red Queen doesn't show up until Through The Looking Glass, and is a totally different character.

I once read a book, I think it was called The Annotated Alice, that had theory after theory of what the Red Queen and other characters represented in the Alice books. After I had read about four or five theories, I learned something, not about the Red Queen, but about theories.
