@@s3nc3r7 you will find very little of this in catholicism or eastern orthodox. It is like they are trying to stay somewhat under the old mosaic levitical ways. All three streams of Christianity have faults and errors and hopefully Catholicism repents and gets salvation right as they are so far out in left field on it teaching heresies such as purgatory, infused grace, salvation by keeping sacraments. but I would say JOYOUS worship that exists in many protestant churches i have been to do have the presence of God show up. The churches that are dead do not have the presence of God. Here is an example of church gathering in the first century church. There are very few churches today that have anything close to this. The church has to have the presence of the Holy Spirit for this to even be possible. What the dead churches decided to do was make up the doctrine of cessationism to counter what was not in their churches. Many Protestant ministers teach this false doctrine of cessationism too. Orderly Worship 1Co 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 1Co 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 1Co 14:28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 1Co 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

@@s3nc3r7 That's truly what it is, dumbed down. I'm realizing this now and to be honest i'm having difficulty trusting any church. Comparing true worship to protestant worship is like comparing Jacob's bowl of stew to Esau's birthright. We rob ourselves of communion with God just to feel inspired by an upbeat/emotional song. I struggle though to accept Orthodox worship and seeing the gold and wealth of these churches. I don't trust religious men wearing fancy vestments. The hymns sung at divine liturgy is also beautiful, but something seems wrong about it to me. When I read about church gathers in Acts, I do not picture what I see during divine liturgy at all

I was deeply involved in the occult during my teens and early 20s. It was a Simon the sorcerer type event that turned me towards Christ. During the following 12 years I tried every type of Protestantism looking for spirituality that wasn't as anemic as what I was finding. I attended several charismatic/pentecostal during that time and even "spoke in tongues" a few times but I struggled terribly with it because it felt EXACTLY the same to me as when I'd channeled demons as an occultist. My faith was dying and I was on my out of Christianity when I stumbled across a group of Orthodox people online and was intrigued by how this diverse group, from countries all over world could discuss their faith so deeply with so few disagreements. Then, at my first meeting with an Orthodox priest, he cautioned me to, "Take your time, don't rush into it. Study it, think about it, pray about it because if you leave here, there's nowhere else you can go to find MORE truth." Thank you for your videos, Father, they often sting me and convict me because of the sins I harbor in my heart, but that is one way that I know they must be true. Please pray for me.

The moment I started it was the moment I felt true purpose and peace. God truly loves. (Sorry if my english is bad, not my first language!)

I remember passing by a church one time that practiced this wailing and gnashing of teeth. The "pastor" was yelling into the microphone while the congregation (almost like the professional mourners of old) wailed and yelled also. From what the pastor was yelling, I inferred that they were repenting of their sins. However, the spirit and feeling that emanated from that meeting was dark and chaotic. The Lord does not work in darkness nor does he emote misery and woe. Rather, He wishes for us to have Godly sorrow which is to first feel sorrow for being spiritually separated from God to whatever degree, and letting that turn to a desire to turn your heart more fully to Christ by being more obedient. This video is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

To repent we need to acknowledge our sins and be aware of why we sinned and stop repeating it. That takes great love for Almighty God and some serious effort to put God first in life not ego or carnal nature. Humility and real soul searching can break the chains of addiction and help avoid back sliding. Remember God's Spirit is everywhere at once. We are being monitored and recorded by Heavenly Angels. Overwhelm of the lower energy can seem unbearable but remember Christ Jesus was crucified for sins and He is still alive in the Holy Eucharist. Take heart.

Jesus(son of Mary), will descend on the earth, and he will not accept any other religion except Islam -- the true religion of Allah Islamic Monotheism. On the Day of Resurrection, a call-maker will announce, *"Let every nation follow that which they used to worship."* Then none of those who used to worship anything other than Allah like idols and other deities but will fall in Hell (Fire), till there will remain none but those who used to worship Allah, both those who were obedient (i.e. good) and those who were disobedient (i.e. bad) and the remaining party of the people of the Scripture. Then the Jews will be called upon and it will be said to them, *'Who do you use to worship?'* They will say, 'We used to worship Ezra, the son of Allah.' It will be said to them, 'You are liars, for Allah has never taken anyone as a wife or a son. What do you want now?' They will say, 'O our Lord! We are thirsty, so give us something to drink.' They will be directed and addressed thus, 'Will you drink,' whereupon they will be gathered unto Hell (Fire) which will look like a mirage whose different sides will be destroying each other. Then they will fall into the Fire. Afterwards the Christians will be called upon and it will be said to them, *'Who do you use to worship?'* They will say, *We used to worship Jesus, the son of Allah.* It will be said to them, *You are liars, for Allah has never taken anyone as a wife or a son.* Then it will be said to them, 'What do you want?' They will say what the former people have said. Then, when there remain (in the gathering) none but those who used to worship Allah (Alone, the real Lord of the Worlds) whether they were obedient or disobedient. Then (Allah) the Lord of the worlds will come to them in a shape nearest to the picture they had in their minds about Him. It will be said, 'What are you waiting for?' Every nation have followed what they used to worship.' They will reply, 'We left the people in the world when we were in great need of them and we did not take them as friends. Now we are waiting for our Lord Whom we used to worship.' Allah will say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say twice or thrice, 'We do not worship any besides Allah.' " (Sahih al-Bukhari 4581)

I heard a pastor say that the spiritual meaning of Matt 16:18 is that Peter was a regular man, full of weakness, doubt and fear but Jesus called him strong-because when we are weak HE is strong. Another commentary says that the rock was Mt Hermon which is located in Caesarea Philippi, where the fallen descended and where many people worshipped false gods, like Pan., Tammuz, etc. Jesus was reclaiming the territory (the earth) that false gods had stolen!

@@jacquiej5330 biblical interpretation gymnastics. Take a step back and realize how much justification you need to erase the real meaning of Mathew 16:18. None of these pastors you speak have any claims to infallibility anyways so why should I listen. Oh and how is scripture infallible? It’s made infallible by an infallible understanding. The Catholic Church claims that infallible understanding historically and doctrinally. Think about how much of an oxymoron it is to say infallible scripture leads to fallible canon. It’s wildly illogical. My point is I have no reason to trust you or your pastors biased interpretations of scripture. And every reason to trust the Catholic Church… considering as well that they compiled the Bible in the first place.

Considering Jesus Christ, the Antichrist, or the mark of the beast during the last days, how shall there be any room for worldwide deception with the following Bible passages? Please consider how different the narratives are from those of the New Testament's, for this is how it shall be when the true Messiah has come. Isaiah 2:2-4 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. Jeremiah 31:33-34 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Ezekiel 37:26-28 26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. 27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 28 And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore. Isaiah 11:1-10 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. 10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. Zechariah 8:23 23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you. Jeremiah 16:19-20 19 O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?

Same here, I had left the Catholic Church years ago due to what I perceived to be a works based religion, and of worshipping saints, and Mary. Though they are very much apart of Christianity, I will only bow and worship Christ Jesus, and The Father!❤ But I agree completely with this very eloquently spoken Father, this man preaches and says a lot of what my pastor says. The charismatic movement is blasphemy- Father got it exactly right when he said “being a Christian isn’t supposed to be easy, and happy. The road is covered in thorns and rocks, and the way is narrow” - I’ll always remember when my pastor preached this, and the CONVICTION from the Holy Spirit in my Heart welled forth! Crying many tears of repentance, and praise to Our wonderful Father and His Son, who Loves us so much, that He gave His Only Son, to die for our sins… how selfless, loving, moved to compassion Jesus was, all the way until He gave up the Ghost. I respect this man and his teachings. He teaches truth. ❤

How come it's similar to the signs in Islam: The Prophet Muhammad said, "Among the slanders (Ad-Dajjal) is that with him there is heaven and hell. In fact, hell is heaven and heaven is hell." (hadith narrated by Ibn Majah - Sahih) There is a similarity in the character of the anti-Christ and Ad-Dajjal in Islam, namely being able to turn assumptions against reality. There is an exchange between perception and reality. What would actually lead someone to hell actually looks like heaven. Meanwhile, anything that could take someone to heaven is instead made into hell. What is right is made to look wrong. What is wrong is made to be right.

I know nothing much of orthodoxy, but, I can say that the things you are saying is pretty much identical to views I formed over the years. This video REALLY hits home, because the ecstatics are many around here. I went to one of those churches just to have somewhere to go, but it was getting pretty far out, and I seen things that scared me. I knew what I was seeing was not of God. You are 100% correct. For many of the same reasons some of the characters in Dostoevskys books were. Reading those helped me to understand where that mindset leads, as well as better understanding it opposite. Then the gospels became life changing for me. And none of that has ever lead to a single bad thing. We are all influenced by others at some point. Personally, I'm glad I stumbled on the works of certain religious thinkers and the writings of the old saints.

Reading these comments makes me sad. Do not ever idolise a politician or a country. Russia isn't an Orthodox heaven, it has its own issues. I'm going to post a quote from St Innocent of Alaksa. "“Truly not a single earthly pleasure can satisfy our heart. We are strangers on earth, pilgrims and travelers; our home and fatherland are there in heaven, in the heavenly Kingdom; and there do not exist on earth things which could perfectly satisfy our desires. Let a man own the whole world and all that is in the world, yet all that will not interest him for more than a minute, so to speak, and it will never satisfy his heart; for the heart of man can be fully satisfied only by the love of God, and therefore God alone can fill the heart and soul of man and quench the thirst of his desires. And so, do you wish to live with God there, in the Kingdom of Heaven? Be an Orthodox Christian. Do you want prosperity and happiness? Seek it in God. Do you want your heart to be fully satisfied? Turn it to God from Whom you have been separated by your sins.” (St. Innocent, Indication of the Way Into the Kingdom of Heaven, pg. 4)"

"The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but the one who prophesies edifies the church." speaking in tongues is not a sign of the demonic intrinsically, but rather doing it for show and without the ability to relay its message and purpose to others. this alone demonstrates it's valid, but everything is to be tested. don't just dismiss the concept because places abuse it. nearly always the truth is sifted through a balanced approach, condemning what is wrong and maintaining what is retained from the threshing floor; separate the wheat from the chaff

I am a Roman Catholic. Actually when I converted from Atheism to Christ, I initially felt very much drawn to Orthodox Christianity, but Orthodox churches in Portugal (a very Catholic country) are rare and their services are in Russian or Greek erc, to the expat community - languages that I do not speak or understand. It was good to listen to your message.

Thank you. As an Evangelical Protestant, I needed to hear this as confirmation that my denomination and other Protestant denominations have cheapened the message handed down to them and the Word entrusted into their care. I see denominations embrace political fashions, philosophies of the sophists, even the craft of the occult. Leaders take these elements into their hearts and their minds, and introduce them to the body from the pulpit and in discipleship training. They handle toxic ideas, eyes widened by the novelty, and imagine that these are things that enlighten Scripture. They do not guard themselves as they should, and they do not have a proper secular education or intellectual commitment to engage with concepts within their historical context, concepts that are debated, and often rejected, even among the unbelievers. It is a horror. You have an audience here of the Orthodox faithful and those outside of the Orthodox faith. I hear the truth in your messages. It is honey from the comb.

Thank you so much for this sermon. I have always had an INTENSE draw to Revelation. Over the past 40 yrs, I've read everything about it that I can get my hands on, but that OBSESSION to know about it & study it has gotten increasingly intense over the past decade. Literally every day now I look around & see things Revelation has told us will occur & I've been feeling very troubled...troubled because things are already bad and, knowing Revelation the way I do, I know they're only going to get infinitely worse. I'm mandated for the jab. I will be filing my religious exemption as an Orthodox Christian but, should it be denied, I will lose my job & income. I'm trying REALLY hard to give my fears & concerns over to God but I haven't done very well at it today. I've spent the past 4 hours crying, praying & begging for strength to endure. If any of you would be willing to pray for me, as well, I would certainly appreciate it. God bless you.

Start reading the bible as a whole in its historical context - then you might get some understanding on book of revelation. It's the last book for a reason. Look up dr Michael Heiser on the subject.

@@betrion7 "Start reading the Bible as a whole in its historical context...". For an Orthodox Christian its impossible NOT to read it in its historical context since the Orthodox Church was established in A.D. 33, Orthodoxy LIVED that history AND were the Divinely-inspired authors of the Bible. Secondly, I've read the Bible cover-to-cover multiple times already & my Orthodox Study Bible is extensively footnoted with the historical details you mention. As for Dr. Heiser, although he is currently connected with a non-denominational church, he is an evangelical Protestant with a heavy background with the Baptist Church, both of which hold views that are diametrically opposed to those of the Orthodox Church. Assuming that you are Orthodox or wouldn't be on an Orthodox channel, I'd be very, very careful reading Heiser's works as they border, if not cross the border, on heresy.

@@bigdawgz4530 I have interest in all history, including Judaeo-Christian and have found Heiser's work to be rather edifying and to bring clarity. Church history and fathers are an interesting subject that I've spent some time exploring. If you're interested in my denomination, that would be a Roman Catholic one. I do visit other channels, including this one and I'm sorry if my suggestion is distracting in any way. I forget how sometimes different traditions tend to look at each other. Where I live most of RCC trough my life tends to look at other traditions very harshly (including orthodoxy especially - mostly because of politics). As I came to faith (thanks to resources such as Bible Project, Heiser, etc.) all of that seemed kinda funny but I'm not here to divide - every church movement seem to have their problems, challenges and issues. There is nothing new under the sun.

Young adults there would chase the experience of being 'drunk in the spirit', 'holy laughter', and hoped to be caught up to the 3rd heaven like Paul. By God's grace I met a true friend in that place who has walked alongside me to our true home, in Orthodoxy. Thank you for your obedience to our Lord, for speaking His Truth so that every word illuminates not yourself, but Him. (jesus ret*rded logic) - the book of Revelation claim that only the elected or those who believe in the man-made book will be saved, while others will go to hell.

I completely agrer with everything you have shared with us. I came to Christ after a long life full of sin. There were springtimes of spiritual revival, then worldly choices, selfish choices, found me lost to a sureness of direction, and my positionality found me being that man who trembles as he works out his own salvation! It wasnt until the spectre of losing my life changed the urgency in which I needed to lose all of those protections that kept The Almighty From me, And Me from Him. I have become a friend of God. I know how it feels to be playful, yet mindful of the seriousness, and the amount of reverence that you must be able to carry at the same time. It's like just being real because you just come to the crystal clear knowlege that He knkws your every thought anyway, might as well just trust that His Finished Work Was Most Surely Sufficient Enough For me to approach Him. What you said about the Holy Spirit not making it so hard to find truth brought the idea to completion. It makes total sense. Some protestants agree with these criticisms and with almost all of our brother's teachings while considering those less familiar. The spirit brings unity regardless of external label or tradition. He calls all men to Christ and everyone starts where they are. There can be a healthy diversity of views between brothers. This is necessary to sharpen each other and discern the Spirit's leading together. Some of the apostles split to spread the gospel in different lands. While it appeared divisive on the surface to some, the same spirit directed both. Some brothers may be equipped with more of a mystical gift set and feel that skepticism of their sensibilities is modernism. Time will test all of us when the harvester arrives to determine between wheat and tears. May we be found faithful in his mercy.

As a Muslim who loves the details of religions, and cares and prepares for what comes after death, I hope that there will be greater dialogue and closeness between us, even with the difference in the way to reach the goal, but in the end we unite our goals, which is to help each other, and succeed in surviving after our death if there is another life after death

There is nothing wrong with dialogue and discussing our faith's etc. I would even encourage that!!! However... Jesus said: "If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also". Jesus also said: "Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart". - Every single human falls short here... even Christians He also said: "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you". - very hard for us normal Humans to do... Point is, this is very counter-Muslim... I am telling you this so that you can see that the real God loves ALL people!!! Not just the Muslims or just the Jews or just the Christians etc... NO! ALL PEOPLE!!! It is even written: "For it is NOT his WILL that any should perish but that all should come to repentance"... Therefore we pray, "Thy Will be done" In Muslim belief it is very much: an "eye-for-an-eye" "You must be good", "You must do this", "You must do that", "This is forbidden", etc, etc. "If you desert the faith you are dead to us" - This is all very resentful and even hateful. In Christ we come to the realization that we are actually ALL pretty bad people - Regardless of background or religion. NO ONE is Good! NOTHING WE DO can ever save us!!! "For ALL have sinned". That is why Jesus Christ came!!! To Fulfill what we CANNOT fulfill... To take onto himself the sin of the world... To die on the Cross, and with him our sins; AND to RISE again as victor over Sin AND Death!!! But I hear you say: "no man can do that..." And here is the Muslim's biggest problem: Christians KNOW that Jesus was not just a simple man like me and you!!! Yes, he is 100% Man, BUT He also is 100% true living God!!! But then you tell me, there is no way God can become flesh!!! Then I tell you, in that case you don't believe in an ALMIGHTY God!!! If you want to believe in an ALMIGHTY God, you have to be able to believe in a God than can also become 100% flesh!!! (otherwise he is not almighty, right?) NB!!! The bottom line is: There is NOTHING you can do to save yourself. Please realize that you are a simple sinful being, as I also am. We ALL fall into temptation daily. We ALL have sinned, we ALL fall short and deserve nothing but the wrath of God... Only Jesus Christ can save you. He WANTS to save you... But you HAVE to allow Him to do so!!! You have to trust in Him to do so!!! He will NOT do ANYTHING against your will or against your conviction... Being a Christian is NOT about religion! In fact, it's about being free from religious and earthly bondage and instead ALL about living within the living Christ! And thus, In the name of the loving God, almighty, I have to let you know what Jesus also says (and this could break your heart (I know it breaks my heart for your sake)) - He says: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me!" - And this separates ALL Christians from ALL OTHER believe systems!!! - There is NO other way. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way! That is why there cannot be any common ground! Any make belief "common ground" is fake, it's not real... Even So, I am a witness of Jesus Christ to you today!!! He is the one who TRULY loves you and wants to free you!!! Anything else, even "common ground", is just trying to keep you in bondage! Bless you Brother... May Jesus Christ come into your heart and work in you in profound ways... AMEN - Love you brother - Hope to see you in heaven where the one true almighty God, our loving creator, also is!

@Dragon D correct, we do not refer to Priests as God the Father in heaven. We refer to them as our spiritual father.

@Dragon D that is not what that scripture means. We are not to refer to anyone as God the Father. Priests are our spiritual father. You're interpreting that in your own strength and leaning on your own understanding.

I just have to ask this one question. What do you do with the verses that are at the end of the book of Mark chapter 16 that say these are the signs that shall follow those who believe in my name they shall speak with new tongues. I am one who does and I enjoy listening to you, but I don’t think the way you do about prayer in the Holy Ghost.

When I read about how the apostles started speaking "in tongues" to the crowds I literally thought the holy spirit gave them the knowledge of other languages, latin, greek, persian, arabic, egyptian etc. I never saw it as babbling incoherent gibberish. Naturally when I saw protestant groups speaking in tongues by blurping random sounds I thought it was just silly.

In the Book of Acts, the Apostles were understood in the various languages listed in Holy Scripture at the pentecost. It was not "babbling, incoherent gibberish." It was indeed coherent, that is, understood by the hearers.
