** FOR AN UPDATED VIDEO ABOUT FISHAN - go to: • Elephant Bull Fishan -...
Fishan, a 30-year-old, four-ton elephant bull at Camp Jabulani, fractured his lower ulna bone of his front left leg in September 2018.
There are very few recorded successful treatments of how to treat an animal of this size that weighs four tons.
With an exceptional team of wildlife vets and a team of outstanding elephant carers that gave him unconditional love and care every single day, Fishan has made a remarkable recovery.
He is not fully healed as of yet, and he will most likely have a limp for life, but we are so relieved to see him out in the reserve again, with the rest of his herd, where he belongs.

The carers reading to Fishan was just too beautiful. A bunch of kinder and more compassionate people would be hard to find than all those involved here in Fishan's recovery - hard work, dedication, not giving up, and so much love, care and affection. Hats off!

Oh Tigere! God bless you for staying all night with Fishan and limping back home with him! To all the other awesome people who read to Fishan and kept his spirit thriving while recovering. Awe! All the support from the elephant herd was beautiful to watch. Yes, I agree it was the phenomenal team of people that gave unconditionally of themselves to Fishan that promoted his healing and lots of prayers! We were created to heal. We were not created to be alone. Another fantastic job well done! God bless you all.

Guess i am silly female. Tears are flowing for the suffering of fishan. The are such gentle beauties when left to live as they are supposed to. But yet accept help so gracefully. Thank you to all who work to help and save these beautful, amazing beauties.

Wow...for him to recover as well as he has is remarkable. Their legs bear so much weight & with him having to still use his broken leg to get around, it's pretty amazing it healed as as soon as it did. Kudos to everybody for getting this wonderful boy back to his herd. 🐘💕
