Oh yeah I know, I live in a place where deer and wild hogs are very overpopulated and caused a lot of damage to the environment and local ecosystems, and my partner (who is a vegetarian) totally agrees when we talked about the difference between livestock raising and sustainable hunting and fishing. Like there's a huge difference between going fishing and poms that they stock and trophy hunting as compared to actually hunting for your food.

i agree. for the most part, ethical hunters give game instant or near instant death, via gun or bow. i have a hunting and fishing license (it was granted in tandem) which i have yet to use (will probably use just for fishing). i think responsible hunting and fishing are very good, especially in comparison to factory farms.

Native american here 👋 Most people that hunt aren't that ethical and there isn't really sustainable hunting. Elk, moose, and caribou are all endangered or are almost there. In addition to hunting. They have to deal with horses eating all the food, forests drying out, and a huge wolf population. When I was a kid, you'd see them on the regular. Now its an event. My people (native) aren't as ethical as you think. They're some of the worst for the declining animal population.

I do wanna add: I would say in terms of American politics, I’m a leftist. But when it comes to overall, I’m way closer to being a socialist, or an anarchist. Especially since I believe that the US wont change unless a lot of systems in which the US runs (in terms of the elections, prisons, healthcare) are changed. There needs to be more intervention on companies, as in, there shouldn’t be a laissez-faire market in the US. This market will push up prices of necessities needed to the point where people can not afford to get help if they are ill, get food, and prisons are often overcrowded and black people tend to be disproportionately incarcerated compared to white people. I trust me, I believe in rehabilitation, but the people who own these prisons don’t give a shit about that. All in all, human rights such as access to healthcare should NOT be a debate, just because someone isn’t cis. Anyways, I do want to mention, I think it’s fair if you can’t or don’t want to move. The price of living, especially in states such as NY is insane.
