AVB's stint managing Porto is one of of my favorites. As a Colombian he of course really gave us a boost, regularly playing Falcao, James and Guarin. But beyond that he turned that Porto into a real beast. Their matches in Europe were always fun to watch

Porto fan here. I'm 44 and i've see many different Porto squads through the years, and I still think AVB Porto was the one playing the most beautiful football. Notice: i don't mean it was the strongest squad we ever had, i just think it was the squad that played the most beautiful. This video mentions something that i also noticed: The AVB sitting in Chelsea bench or Zenit or Marseille bench, wasn't the same man sitting at FC Porto bench. Even his face in the bench was completely different, in Porto you could see a man obsessed, fully commited, focused, filled with passion... But the one at Chelsea (and the others) simply wasn't the same man, he looked kind of bored, indifferent... He was too much of a "Portista", and probably that was both his strenght and weakness to be a coach of One or others clubs.

As a Marseillais, I was happy to see him being coach of my coach. However, his relationship with the board was bad and that's why he ended up leaving. To be fair, fans were also tired of the board and a few months after Villas Boas left, we had a new president. The best since Diouf in 2005-09. I wish him well as a president. It will not be easy at Porto but he's in love with this club. It will help him a lot.

Bro , I remember watching rangers play Lyon in the champions league , I think it was the 2007/08 season .. we were the group of death for sure that year .. Barcelona (la liga champs) Lyon (ligue 1 champs) stuttgart (bundesliga champs) and rangers (Scottish champs) … anyway we beat Lyon 3-0 in France but in that game Juninho hit the bar with a free kick from about 45 yards out and i swear the sound of it hitting the bar sounded like a cannon being fired
