To be fair to Karl, the head story was probably about a French guy called Languille who was executed in 1905. When his head was in the basket, the Doctor shouted his name at the head and apparently its eyes moved and focused on the Doctor and went on for about 30 seconds. Probably just nerves and coincidence but who knows...

Aww, this one was so much fun! :) I can't imagine firefighters using monkeys, but if they ever were to do that, I can only think it'd be because it needs to climb higher than their ladders are able to stretch and there was absolutely no other way to get up to that floor. Still, one would think they'd have to train a monkey ahead of time so it'd do what they wanted it to do. It's not like they could just say hey monkey, climb up there and bring down any survivors, alright? Lol X)

The glass houses saying is one (another being "the grass is always greener on the other side") typically used to test a prison inmate's thinking, that is, whether it's concrete or not. If an inmate's--or any other person, of course, but I worked in a prison hospital--thinking is concrete, their answer to what the glass houses saying means would be something like "break the glass." I was a medical transcriptionist for many years, and I typed that answer in reports many, many times.

I hate to say Karl is right about something and in blindly disagreeing Ricky sounds ignorant but while his details on the situation are wrong (and admittedly mine may be off slightly in some aspects; it was a long time ago) Karl is actually correct about the human head staying “alive”/“conscious” for 20-30 seconds after decapitation. There was an executioner/medical examiner (though I don’t believe that was the terminology used in the day) during the Middle Ages that conducted a vast number of experiments in which he asked the men and/or women who were being executed to continue blinking their eyes for as long as they could after decapitation to further the understanding of medicine and the sciences and in these cases where he asked and they agreed, the heads would continue blinking for between 20-30 seconds on average whereas in cases where the “victim” were not asked to blink, the heads did not exhibit any such activity out of the normal realm of death throes. Hooray Karl! And your perfectly round head and brain like this emoji of how you should have looked on that jury 🥸
