Haha!! Love it. I was going to suggest acetone (nail varnish remover). BUT although acetone would probably dissolve the black marker, it may also take out some of the pink too. Turning it into eyebrows sounds much better idea!!! 🤓💪👍

Former waitress. Whenever pen leaked in our apron pockets we would use hairspray to remove and it worked like magic. Maybe try that with the marker?

Super-cheap hairspray lifts ink and marker stains. Saturate thoroughly until the ink starts running and toss into the machine before the hairspray and ink can dry again. I use Rave brand, but the cheaper, the better. The really nice ones with organ oil or whatever that helps hair just will not do for stain removal!!!

Good tips I dont ever recall machine or handwashing backpacks I am a cloth and washing up or disinfectant wiper!! Great if you can now machine wash such items though

leaving another comment just in case you want to cover other bag types, or bags with added equipment ie bags with an embedded powerbank! this is especially leaning towards the bags with electrical items within it; cords, powerbank, etc. i know spot cleaning is ideal, but i would like to hear what would you do!! ^^

Do you have an alternative for Dawn? I tried it. It work well to get off dust and dirt, but the smell is so awfull that a I need to wash with water and scrub 3 times to get it off. It now live in my cupboard as it is more work.

CLR (calcium, lime, rust remover) that comes in a liquid and spray form. Use an abrasive brush (at your own scratch risk) or a magic eraser.

CLR is long time trusted product. There is also a Scrubbing Bubbles brand to clean away limescale, or there was last time we bought it. Works well on shower heads and faucets.

Diving deep into a filthy backpack 🤣 Any tips for how to stop sweat seeping into the straps? I go out hiking all day in the heat and they absolutely STINK by the end of the day. I've put them in the washing machine a few times but not practical to do it every day and some of the plastic bits won't last. I did spray some stain remover + left soaking but nowhere near as fresh as washing machine. Anyone know if silicone slips exist to put over the straps? any other ideas?

If you use a harder bristle on the fabric of most backpacks, it can damage the fabric, trust me, that's how I learned to go back to a softer bristle brush. He could have used the green double bristle brush thing, sold as a veggie/fruit brush, one side has softer bristles.

It never occurred to me to put a rucksack in the washing machine. I thought mine was a gone-er, but going to try giving it a quick scrub by hand, then putting it in a pillow case, and popping it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. 🤞🤞🤞🤓🫧🪥✨
