This is Part 2 of our deep core basics. This time, we're going to try and challenge your core by moving a limb. We're going to start with knee floats, then we're going to progress that on to knee floats and slide. Elise is going to be cueing Pam to help you follow along and do it yourself at home. Listen to her tips. We're going to go through a little bit of the basics first.
If you've missed the first one, check out Part 1 that drills down on what to do with your pelvic floor and your breathing and getting everything working.
We're going to touch on a little bit on that and then we're going to move straight to the knee float.

This was so worth waiting for. I have been using it every day since it was uploaded. The cue to pull the ribs toward the hips to prevent rib flare is brilliant! The last piece of this particular puzzle for me. :)

Here’s my biggest question - what can I do to stop engaging my shoulders for breathing? I don’t know if it’s because of shoulder issues I have, but I tend to pop my rib cage up breathe more using my shoulders and neck (if that makes any sense?) could it be due to a long term stress response of shrugging my shoulders constantly? These abdominal exercise have been game changing but no matter what I do, I can’t seem to stop engaging my shoulders/upper back/neck in EVERYTHING core related.

It takes a long time to reverse the damage to to long-term chronic stress and faulty body mechanics. Don't expect instant miracles . I have had very severe neck, lev scap, and upper trapezius issues for over 50 years that never will be "cured" but the tutorials on this channel are a game changer for me. Small, medium, and large miracles will happen if you keep at it.
