“Was overwrought and cheesy” More like lacking strong direction. Lost Planet 2 had the makings of a really interesting story. We had Chapter 1 ending with the Rounder Mercenaries being tricked by somebody into thinking an Akrid nest was an extraction point, the Clone brigade in Chapter 2 which at least led into Chapter 3 with the train...I think it would’ve helped if there had been character banter between squad members via radio, or just better characterization for each player character. A recurring villain character (or characters) would’ve helped tie missions and squads together, because the Over G thing didn’t really amount to much until the end where suddenly everyone’s working together.

It's a pain in the ass to get it to run (blame Games for Windows Live) and it may not run on the newer, higher core Amd cpu's, but it's a blast. I gave up after two weeks of not working on my new Ryzen 2700X with all the fix suggestions. I ended up buying some cheap ps3 controllers off Amazon and I just enjoy it there. I logged 230 hours on the Steam version, not hardcore, and I still love the game.

Lost Planet 2 is and will forever be my favorite game of all time. The memories I've made playing it are too many to count. While the series will probably never come back, it warms my heart to see so many people who are as big a fan as I. Hopefully one day we'll see another chapter in E.D.N III.
@wolfleader175 жыл бұрын
it's a shame the series never had the sales. I'm a fan of each of the mainline games. Extreme Condition didn't impress me initially, but I was blown away to constantly see new bosses and enemies show up. Lost Planet 2 was one of the best co-op games I've ever played, with a great multiplayer to boot. And Lost Planet 3 was a radical shift with story focus and much less anime influence. While it was a little jarring to have each game be so different from the last, it was nice to have unique takes on the same world, and EDN III facilitated it all quite nicely.

Xbox didn't forget lost planet 2 seeing as they put it backwards compatible for Xbox one and i play it as much as possible regrinding out levels for all the amazing rewards and all the great story elements say what you will about lost planet 2's story i loved it and it resonates with me still and i personally want to know what happens after lost planet 2.

1) It doesn't need a remake. Why remake games that are already good? It's a complete waste of time and money. 2) It doesn't need a remaster either. It's on PC so it's the definitive way to play.

I loved the first and the third. As much hate as 3rd gets, I really liked the 'interplanetary pioneers' vibe. At its best it really painted a picture of a mining colony in the freezing arse of the universe. The story sadly stumbles towards the end, but I appreciate the atmosphere. It was very different from what I expected, but in a good way. Never played part two, since it was so reliant on co-op and I'm a single-player-only guy. After RE5 I wasn't keen to play a game like this with 'Capcom AI buddy'.
@PenguinDT5 жыл бұрын
@John Johnson Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll give LP2 a spin if I come across a copy. Sad, really; though I liked Sheva as a character, her AI made me avoid Capcom co-op titles for several years.
