“Was overwrought and cheesy” More like lacking strong direction. Lost Planet 2 had the makings of a really interesting story. We had Chapter 1 ending with the Rounder Mercenaries being tricked by somebody into thinking an Akrid nest was an extraction point, the Clone brigade in Chapter 2 which at least led into Chapter 3 with the train...I think it would’ve helped if there had been character banter between squad members via radio, or just better characterization for each player character. A recurring villain character (or characters) would’ve helped tie missions and squads together, because the Over G thing didn’t really amount to much until the end where suddenly everyone’s working together.
@empireofitalypsstimfromano5025
@empireofitalypsstimfromano5025 3 жыл бұрын
And THAT Is How It Should Be. There Shouldn't Be A Recurring Villain To Unite Evryone Evrytime It Wouldn't Be Unique. The Over G Uniting Evryone Only At The End To Save The Whole Planet Is Much Better.

Zackarco me too, everything about lost planet one was so good. The sets looked gorgeous, guns felt powerful yet balanced (maybe not the machine gun), t energy always kept you on the move, akrid boss fights actually taking skill to beat by shooting the orange spots. If I was a game developer, I would love to make a lost planet 4 with the beautiful snow maps, fun challenging akrid, BadAss Vital Suits. maybe make it a little more fast pace, as much as I love the game, getting knocked down over and over was annoying at best. I just would love to have this game back.

@@FedorableJew Best part about the boss fights was that you could fight them in a Vital Suit or on on foot. Personally, I fought every boss on foot. July Jaziel I'm torn, cuz apparently DMC5's director had the option to make either that or a Dragon's Dogma sequel. I love Dragon's Dogma, but damn did I love Lost Planet 2 as well, and well... LP2 was more of a complete package with amazing co-op, so if it came down to those two I think I would have to go with LP, BUT ONLY IF they make it in the vein of LP2.

Only thing I missed was the Akrid mode like the games before that was so much fun.

I think one picture of one of the akrid assets a modeler made exists, but the rest of the info was whispers from a former capcom employee. I think it was between 1 and 2, its been a while Other than that, Capcom partnered up to make a pachislot machine in 2016 of lost planet 2. Very interesting choice 3 years after 3 to not only make one of the series, but choosing 2 specifically. Hopefully they haven't given up entirely..

I feel like I'm the only one who likes the first game the best. There's just something about how you move about the world that I absolutely adore, how the character moves, how everything seems to have weight and impact to it, when you were onfoot you felt small but not weak, in a VS you felt powerful but not invincible, and all that, and I'd kill to have a similar feel used in more games. I'd honestly be willing to pay full price for the original lost planet if they just made it longer and added what they wanted to originally.

I loved the first and the third. As much hate as 3rd gets, I really liked the 'interplanetary pioneers' vibe. At its best it really painted a picture of a mining colony in the freezing arse of the universe. The story sadly stumbles towards the end, but I appreciate the atmosphere. It was very different from what I expected, but in a good way. Never played part two, since it was so reliant on co-op and I'm a single-player-only guy. After RE5 I wasn't keen to play a game like this with 'Capcom AI buddy'.

Extreme Condition didn't impress me initially, but I was blown away to constantly see new bosses and enemies show up. Lost Planet 2 was one of the best co-op games I've ever played, with a great multiplayer to boot. And Lost Planet 3 was a radical shift with story focus and much less anime influence. While it was a little jarring to have each game be so different from the last, it was nice to have unique takes on the same world, and EDN III facilitated it all quite nicely.

I was pissed though when lp3 came out considering it was practically a non horror dead space 3 but worse, everything that gave the lp games personality was gone. Hell we couldnt even play co op anymore which was one of the most amazing parts of 2 because thats what sold it for us and thats what we had the most fun with.
