@PowerPlayChess ; Up to some point in the game, Carlsen's play reminded me of Alphazero's. ( the way he puts the king on h1 Bishop on g2, Sacrifices the pawn for activity )

I do see a lot of similarities to AI - games: putting bishops on the long diagonals against the king, sacrifying pawns to open files for the rooks and than a straight attack towards the king either winning on the spot or winning serious material. What are your thoughts? PS: I agree Magnus play 2019 is very relaxed and free, not hesitating - so it seems he is closer to Magnus 24 now, his favourite player of chess history ;)

If Giri would have found Kh7 he would be known as the most drawish player of all time forever. What a miraculous defensive move that is. White is ready to throw all his pieces at the black king and it just steps up and says: "come at me bro".

Yes 18 Kh7 with the idea ...g6 is a nice defense also found by the engines. Or 17 ...f5. There were a number of defenses along the way. I was rather curious about 16...Qg5 immediately, to challenge the cheeky White queen; -- not mentioned by the engines, but when I play it, SF approves. So this game outcome is as much Giri's shoddy defense as it is Magnus' brilliance.

@@Yetia Yea, 28.Bc3 is perhaps not too hard to find. (Even I saw Bc3 sorta quickly. I then spent about 30 minutes looking at assorted lines on a real board before checking with a computer to see how much I'd missed. ;) ) But after that, there are several crazy lines that are fairly long and not so obvious. Still, a Tal or Alekhin would have seen it all, and would have relished the opportunity play a showy sacrifice that blows black's king to bits.

I have a good suggestion for you. I give it to you, since you are the best provider of chess analysis (up there with Nakamura himself, analysing games from the US Ch.ship). You should make a video showing and explaining how you make the videos; what preparation is needed, how much time does it take etc. As far as I know, tsuch videos doesn't exist regarding chess. I think it would generate a decent amount of views. You could for example analyse a viewer game, while you at the same time show us how you go about making the videos and analysis. @@ElColombre27360 Its a common thing for youtubers to do, especially the sucessful ones. They make a video showing how the go about it. I doubt he has any secrets other than being a GM an therefore is more able than most of us to do good analysis. Its just an suggestion, which Im 100 % sure his viewers would appreciate. Its up to King himself to decide if he wants to do it or not. Even if I knew excactly how he made his videos I wouldnt m´be able to replicate it. It takes quite a decent amount of chess/GM knowledge to pull it off. I guess its just hard work: Using his excellent chess skills, perhaps paired with a litle bit of computer evaluation. So no SUPER BIG secret, I guess. The point is, it would be interesting for us viewers to see. And sooner or later someone is gonna do it, so why not be the first?

I guess its just video and sound program (which you probably will sa which is by watching the videos - you see the "frame" or window from the program surrounding the screen. But the interesting thing would be to see how he goes about it chesswise. Maark my words, sooner or later someone else will do it, Agadmator, St.Louis, ChessNetwork etc. Seen in that light, I would rather be the first to do it :)

Hello Mr. King, I know that you try to pronounce the names of chess players properly. You are probably still in the minority of English-language commentators who pronounce Nepomniachtchi correctly. So I would like to point out that the name Anish should be stressed on the last syllable. Anish is of course an Indian name, but Anish Giri is a Russian speaker, and I once listened to an interview with him in Russian where he was asked where the stress should fall. That's how I know.

Indeed. But he lives in the Netherlands where Anish is generally pronounced with the stress on the first syllable. So...who do I satisfy? Should we ask how it is pronounced in Nepal? :)

@@Yetia Wtf are you talking about??First of all Carlsen didnt play that line because he was too busy making fast moves to not let Giri think because rxb6 is a very classical sacrifice and strong players dont have a hard time calculating it.Secondly im not talking about Carlsen not finding this move ,im complaining about the analysis of this guy with an engine in front of him not explaining critical missed lines like this one,i mean he has a patreon and gets paid to do such explanation,not to be lazy.
