In case anybody is wondering: at 0:57, after Black plays 9...Qa5, can't White fork Black's queen and bishop with b4? Not really, Black could capture that pawn either with bishop or knight and the a-pawn can't recapture because the rook on a1 is hanging. And why not b4 at 1:07, after 10...Rd8? If 11.b4, then 11...Nxb4, and if 12.axb4, then 12...Bxb4, Black already has two pawns for the knight, and White will lose his pinned knight on c3, which is already attacked twice and defended only by the queen, and could easily be attacked a third time with Ne4.

On second viewing of this endgame position, having understood it the first time, I am now wondering why, at 14:35, the black king cannot shuffle across to the rook and pawn along the seventh rank, thus preventing a rook check and arriving to allow the pawn on a7 to be captured.

I think there is an approach via d6 (at the 16:42 mark). Kd6 Ra5 and then Kd7 is zugzwang. If Rd5+ then Kc6 seems to win, otherwise the Black rook must move away and Ke7 follows.

Same here. when i saw the pawn on c5 i thought great anand gave carlsen his favorite grind again and he has no play. comp says .05 or something but i say bs.
