I recently got into a legacy model X 2018 for about 34,000. It's a 75D, but I truly believe no matter the EV or battery size, there is a owner out there where it will fit their particular use case. I plan on only using mine for commuting to work, hauling children to school and other short hauls. The used market is dropping like a rock, and motivated sellers must lower their prices accordingly. Look out for good deals because they're out there.

Hi Dave, we have the exact same spec of Model X on order currently, black 5 seat ultra red at the $79,990. We ordered it a couple weeks ago and the original estimated delivery date for us was November-December. Now, it’s moved back for us to December-January, so it seems what we’re experiencing is normal based off of what you mentioned in this video.

Hi Dave, I woke up on September 1st and saw that the model x price had decreased. I got in contact with a Tesla advisor and placed my order the same day. I picked up my ultra red with black interior on October 6th. I traded in my black on black to Tesla for $42,000. The cost of my model Y had decreased by more than $5,000 since my purchase. Actually on the day I picked up my model x, Tesla decreased the price of the model y again. The ultra red is just a gorgeous color. The model x is the model I originally wanted. I just couldn't justify the price of the x when I decided on the Y which was half the cost.

Dave- 21 century is a classic bait and switch. Not sure if they were the dealership but about a year ago me and my dad flew out to NY to look at a Model X. Upon getting there, the car was in rough shape and they had added on $5-10k on top of the advertised price. Thankfully I didn’t even buy it as the original listed price become a terrible deal just a few months later

As of November 2 late afternoon, there is one Model X in inventory in Massachusetts for $79,880. It is a demonstrator with 1086 miles. The color is midnight silver metallic and it has the (optional) yoke, black interior, 20" wheels, trailer hitch. Good deal if you would like that spec. But given its rarity as a Model X selling for less than the $80K tax rebate limit, my guess is that it'll be sold by the end of the day...

Dave, I traded in my 2017 X for a new X right after Elon announced we could transfer our FSD to the new car. I checked Tesla’s local inventory, and I was able to get one EXACTLY how I wanted it for $10,000 less than ordering one, and months quicker, too. That was before the $79,900 price drop, but still, at the time I made the deal, it was a great deal! With Tesla, you never know when they’re going to change the price or incentives, you just have to like the current deal and go with it. Last spring, they were offering reductions for trading in the free Supercharging, and that didn’t do much for me.

Ordered the exact same spec 10-2-23. One thing possibly in our favor, likely sometime in mid-November Tesla will start doing 2024's (VIN 10th digit = R, vs P for 2022). Better for resale as a " 1 yr newer car". If delivers in 2024, $7.5k "on the hood" as u noted. No sales tax on that 7500...so some silver lining if it pushes. I have owned several Bentley, Mercedes, Ferrari along with every high end trim of every domestic “highland” using all of that as base metric for luxury I have to say, I did not feel any luxury at all inside the model X. This is the exact problem with the no dealer network. Tesla can set whatever pricing they want and adjust it by the day for everyone coast to coast without any consideration of local limitations (like lack of Tesla repair facility within 100s of miles). The consumer has a lot more power in negotiation with dealers. For example the Q8 Etron can be had in some places with 14k in Audi incentives PLUS another 5-8k off in dealer discounts from MSRP for a new car.... Tesla's sale model let's you get a car at MSRP basically which frankly was never that hard before. Sure the last 1.5-2 years have been wonky but things have returned to normal again now. Lastly Tesla's sale model really leaves you with little options when they adjust their pricing on the fly for your trade in or other variable. You almost never have anyone to complain to, it's just kick the dirt deal with it.

In our case I do not think it was a mistake. We just got a 2020 model x with 50k miles on it used. Ours is a 7 seater and also the performance which is the predecessor to the plaid with the 2 motors. It is only a few 10ths of a second slower than the plaid. It is the next generation of the p100d then just did not use the battery nomenclature any more. It also came with powder coated black rims which are the 20in standard rims. I would never use the lower profile wheels. Black interior which we prefer and the wood trim. We paid 58,900. We got ours in NJ at J&S Autohaus. They had a lot of used teslas and they also had a couple rivian R1s which were clearly new. I prefer having the stalks since we have a 2018 model 3 lr awd so going from one car to another would be a real pain. I would not want the yoke either. So having the 7 seater on a new one would have been more and we have what is nearly plaid performance for 60k. Over a second faster than the base.

The Tesla model 3 standard range (270 miles) being close to $30,000 after the federal rebate, and lower on progressives that have their own incentives (in NJ, for example, you can get it for $26,000 and no sales tax on it after their added rebate) is by far the best value of ANY car right now, when you factor in having your own "gas station" at home with dirt cheap electricity overnight rates. Or totally free if you have solar. There's no other car that even comes close to that in value. Not when you factor in the vast and fast Tesla supercharger network and the Model 3 having super fast charging speeds, in contrast to the Bolt's super slow 55kw max charging rate. And forget about any ICE vehicle that forces you to go to a gas station and pay those sky high prices that only go up and up with time. For example, I'm in Arizona right now on a trip and have rented a Model 3, and the average gas price here is around $4.50 for REGULAR (just imagine premium), while on some Superchargers we have paid as low as 13 cents per kilowatt after 10PM. While others are as low as 21 cents before 12PM. (12PM to 7PM are the hours with the highest prices here, even though you still pay only 31 cents per kilowatt on many superchargers). The most we have paid in $10.03 for a "fill up." Try that with a gas gar and see how far it gets you.

Not that it matters, but unlike the $100 reservation fee for the CT, the $250 order fee is not refundable. If, for whatever reason, one decided that a Tesla is ins't going to work, and you cancel the order anytme after yoi hit the order button, Tesla keeps the $250, It's not the money, it's the principal of what they're doing. If Tesla was keeping anything, I would have throught that the $100 reservations for CT would be non refunable. I also found that the accident reports in Carfax are quesitonable; I'll leave it at that. At tome point, I'll have a Tesla but it makes no sense, to me, to buy a used Tesla. If I'm buying a "tech" car, I want the latest teck capable. If the stock keeps taking though, I may be on a street corner saying I'll work for kilowatts
