There's no watch dealer of any brand that has what you need. You have what they need. The Rolex game is for truly wealthy people who have given away their power in this bizarre retail microcosm, because they have so much money that it's inconsequential to them. You shouldn't even try to play on their playground, just get an Omega or something.

This video is the truth. After being on waitlists for several dealers for the past 3 years, i randomly stopped by one of the dealers and asked where I was in line. The sales guy, who was super cool, sheepishly explained that there is no waitlist. A sales person will take down your info, and if they don’t think you are a serious buyer or otherwise unworthy, will throw that card in the trash the minute you leave. Others they might hang onto for a short period of time if other buyers looking for the same thing fall through. I told him what I wanted. He said he might have one in a few days. He took my info, and I wondered if he might toss my card in the trash. 4 days later he contacted me saying the watch was arriving in two days and I had been chosen. Two days later I picked up the watch. Simple as that. One week turnaround. Probably all because we hit it off and had a pretty good conversation.

@@AG-en5yI don’t remember how many times I went into all three stores I was on “waitlists” for all three years. But I can rank them in frequency by distance. The furthest store from me which is where I finally got my Rolex - I probably only went there a couple of times a year. The watch I got was not the same model I was on the waitlist for, but I was on the fictitious waitlist for that same watch at the other two stores. I went to the second furthest store a few times a year. The one closest to my house - I went there at least once a month. They’ll sell it to a friend or a business partner, buy it back ten seconds later and now its considered “pre owned”, and they have the gall to then price it according to the secondary market. Can you do this with the new models? It seems odd that they go for different prices based on bezel colour if it’s still an easy swap.

Probably not. I thought the saleslady at the AD was going to lose her mind when I asked if I could purchase a fully brushed oyster bracelet for a new GMT ( I don't like the polished center links). They blacklist people for that, believe it or not (according to the saleslady), and they will never sell you another watch or even consider taking it on trade. @Adam-i4l4u Rolex is garbage quality anyway. Normal people see it as a bling bling "I'm a fat rich b*stard" kind of watch
@Adam-i4l4u26 күн бұрын
@@PogU_4Life I can't say it's garbage quality since their movements and finishing are some of the best in the game. However, they are definitely overhyped. I never begged for that Yacht-Master; they knew what to do when I came in and said that's the only Rolex I give a shit about.

I don’t know how did you come up with these info?. But based on my experience in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, there is no (actual)waitlist whatsoever. Only a certain model like Steel GMT, Steel Daytona, Blue Sky that’s for VIP only. Even that, there’s no waitlist/wait time. It’s all up to the Sales person first and then the store manager if they wanna sell it to you. Good Personal relationship with the sales person is the main key to get your Rolex at AD

So I went into an AD to put together a wishlist of multiple watches. I asked for a blusey, Pepsi, black dial stainless Daytona, blue Skydweller or green. We chatted for a little and 90 days later I got the call for the blusey. With the other stuff I have gotten no indication that they will be getting one for me anytime soon. I did ask if something could come in for my 40th birthday this summer but they have not really been able to get me anything

Outside of the Bluesy , those are the harder ones to get. I imagine the skydweller, than pepsi and the daytona. I got my Bluesy like in two months, 2 , 3 months later I got the candy pink 36 OP and than i got the Batgirl took me about 10 after putting myself on the list.

Walked into my AD last year with no spend history. I talked to the salesman about the two exact watches I wanted (sub-date and Batgirl). Got sub-date in 3 months and Batgirl in 9 months. Put myself down for a Daytona but not expect call on that for years (if not ever 😅).

Got a 41mm Wimbledon smooth and oyster as a walk in. Can’t get a 41mm green Op or 36mm pink OP. Rolex definitely has great watches but I will probably jump to Cartier and Omega since I can’t get another affordable Rolex.

Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, these numbers and time frames make good sense. I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.

What waitlist?
@TripleXRoxas133 ай бұрын
Not a waitlist. It’s a registry of interest. There are no specified wait times. There are thousands of registrations done a month and a small inventory to work with between locations. There is not one client that is more special than the other. The reason for the lengthy wait for your registry is because of how many pieces will be received throughout the year at a specified location and how many registrations there are; for example: a store gets 50 sub w/date a year and have 4K registrations. That’s why it takes time.

Depends where you live when it comes to ADs. If you live in a very affluent area and no buying history it is a hard no. If you live in the DC DMV area, Raleigh, Durham area and places like these good luck. You need purchase history for a sub. You are better going grey. By the time the AD calls you the watch won’t be that important to you.

not to mention that it is jewlery, completely discretionary....why do you even need a watch when everyone walks around with a smart phone in their pocket that does whatever a watch does plus 10,000 other things. Crazy how people fell for the rolex bubble, then again all krypto brother types.
